"I recently ordered a refrigerator filter from Appliance Zone which boasted high customer ratings. The package shipped quickly, but arrived in a cardboard priority mail envelope, which had been badly damaged in transit (the envelope was too small). I realized once opened that I received the wrong filter. I checked my records and realized it was THEIR mistake. When I tried to contact the company, I realized this is easier said than done... livechat...link sent (with security concerns)...email form required...return label generated... etc., etc. After several difficult contacts through email, I was told that I would receive credit for the filter once it was returned (with a shipping label sent by mail...my expense to purchase return shipping box)..and then I could re-order the correct filter.... WHAT??? Who's mistake was this? I sent another email (to a different link) telling them to credit my account... I'd purchase the correct filter elsewhere due to exceptionally poor customer service. Buyer beware!"
"I ordered a control board for my GE clothes washer. Ordered it on Dec 15 and it arrived on Dec. 17. Was an OEM part not some knockoff. Besides having the lowest price the ordering was easy and part arrived before the dirty clothing could fill the load. Seems like there are a bunch of negative reviews but IMHO this seller is top rated."
"Well I probably would not have ordered from the Appliance Zone if I had read the reviews on here. I placed an order for 2 items for my dishwasher and had no difficulty finding it on their website. I was pleasantly surprised by the speed in which I received my order. It was well packed and was able to get the dishwasher up and running. I would order from them again. "
"Buyer Beware!!! If you do business with this company, you deserve what you get. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. Discover Card ended up eating the $48.55 charge to keep me as a card holder."
"If you get the right item I assume your transaction went smoothly, God help you if you get the wrong item. You can only speak to someone via the live chat. They will send you Return Authorization, however, if there is an error with that you can't get any help. Still waiting for my $128.00 refund close to three weeks now. This is the worse company I have dealt with. As a matter of fact this is the first time I ever took the time to write a review on a company. It really is a shame to have a company that could care less about customer service. This was a 100% error on their part and I am out @128.00 plus the 20.00 it took to ship back the item. Stay away the risk is too high that you will never see you money again if there is a problem."
"i ordered on nov. 18, 6 parts for my whirlpool frig. they were cheaper than most places.i received an email confirmation right away and received the shipment 5 days later and one of the parts came damaged i chatted with them about the damage item and they said fill out one of their forms on their website (can't remember which one) and i did i got an email confirmation stating their apology and would send another one they were supposed to send another email with the tracking # when it went out but they never did and i received the item one week later. I feel that appliancezone is still new (and thats why people are having doubts about them bec. their communication is not the greatest)but they are getting there "
"I found the best price on Appliance Zone, so I placed my order and received the part in a timely manner. We never opened the box as we did not need the part - and they will not take it back - even unopened. Now I will have a $50 part on my shelf. Be careful of their return policy!!!!"
"BUYER BEWARE: DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY! IT IS NOT WORTH THE COUPLE OF DOLLARS SAVED! YOUR CREDIT CARD IS CHARGED IMMEDIATELY AND THE PHONE NUMBER THAT SHOWS ON THE CHARGE IS DISCONNECTED! Based on these reviews it is a roll of the dice if you get your order.
I wish I had the luxury of reading these reviews prior to ordering. I ordered a water pump for a washing machine and selected the 2-5 day shipping. I checked the status after 2 days and it says "processing". I use their "On Line Chat" (the only way to contact them) and they say the order is scheduled to ship the next day from a warehouse in Frenso. I ask to cancel the order so I can buy it local but there is nothing they can do to stop this order from shipping!!!!
I check the next day and it still says "processing". I use "On Line Chat" and am told it SHOULD ship the next day.
Two days later I check and there is a Fed Ex tracking number. But it is not found in the Fed Ex system. I use "On Line Chat" again and they say it will be updated in the Fed Ex system at midnight.
Long story short -- Today it is 10 days later and Fed Ex says it has never been picked up or delivered to a Fed Ex station. I have called my credit card to put the charge into dispute as I feel I have no other recourse. This company is a scam!"
"My experience with appliancezone.com has been very frustrating. My first order went smooth, but when the faulty part broke a few weeks later, the replacement process was horrible. They provided much worse service than the first time - false tracking number, lack of email response, and finally overcharging for shipping costs. Every time I received an email from Courtney, it was as it she hadn't even read my previous correspondence. So frustrating not to be able to call and talk to someone as well. When I opened a live chat and asked to speak with a manager, they would not give me anyone else. Probably a bunch of kids sitting around with no supervisor. Not recommended.
Nov 12/10 update...So the latest frustration to get my blood pressure up is that the package that I've paid to have RESENT to my address is sitting in a FedEx warehouse unable to go any further because it was issued as the wrong kind of shipment for my address. They are refusing to take responsibility for this mistake. Every email response seems like they haven't even READ my words. Just wish I could pick up the phone and TALK to someone, because their personnel don't seem to be able to communicate in writing at ALL. This rude treatment has left me very upset, and I will ABSOLUTELY NEVER order anything from them again even if its half price!!!"
"Most of the complaints on ApplianceZone are based on messed up orders so don't apply to my situation, as they sent all of the right parts. To be honest, I probably would not have ordered from these guys if I would have read all of the negative reviews before hand. I am glad that I didn't. My experience was great. I ordered on 10/18 and Fed Ex was at my door with the complete order on 10/21. Shipping was only $5.95. I researched all of the part numbers that I needed myself and did not rely on their "chat" that so many others have complained about. After this experience, I will order from them again, after making sure that the part numbers I order are the ones that I need."
"Excellent! The handle broke on my dishwaser. ApplianceZone.com made it easy to find the part on thier website. The price was much better than from Whirlpool, and it came quicker than expected."
" This company seems bent on making enemies. I ordered a control switch for my stove and contacted their live chat to ask when I could expect shipment. They informed me the part was on back order and that they had no idea when it would ship.
No problem, (even though a company really shouldn't bill you until they have the part to sell) I told their chat person to cancel my order and I'd shop elsewhere.
End of story, right and everyone lives happily ever after... no, chat person regrettably informs me he lacks the authority to cancel my order and gives me a link to their Returns Center. There is a very stern notice telling me that I need an approved "Return Authorization" (which even if I have one " does not guarantee a credit" that I will be billed for postage and handing (both ways) plus an additional $3.00 processing fee.( Which surely doesn't apply to me since they don't have the part and they haven't processed the order)
Now we reach the end of the story, where they live happily ever after and I, only slightly annoyed get my refund... not just yet, partner. Hours later, late Friday afternoon and after I've obtained the part elsewhere I get an email telling me my order will "automatically be resourced to our other distributor"
I send another email reminding them I canceled this order
They send me another email telling me that someone( apparently whoever I was "resourced to") will be shipping my order on Monday.
I send another email reminding them I canceled this order; pointing out that "they told me it wasn't in stock"
They send me another email, starting to get a little nasty now that it's impossible to stop the shipment but I can refuse delivery and I will be issued a credit, minus shipping and processing.
I send another email reminding them I canceled this order, again pointing out again that they told me it wasn't in stock and pointing out that if I dispute the charge the credit card company will certainly see it my way.
They send a one line email "We have 1 in chicago and this is in process of shipping now"
My turn to get a little nasty, "I don't how I could be more clear I do not want this item, will dispute the charge, and the numerous changes in shipping and in stock information you have provided do not bolster your case. First you didn't have it all, then you couldn't ship it until Monday, and now there is an urgent need to ship it "NOW" Please cancel this order, refund my money and save us both the inconvenience of dispute.
Thanks JT"
They still won't give up, another one liner," God(sic) evening, You can simply refuse the order for a refund on the part or we can then issue an RA but I believe this is an exchange for you and would be required to receive the credit on the first order."
One last salvo from me and when they didn't respond, I complained to Pay Pal and they folded, "I will be contacting Pay Pal and American Express, unless you promptly refund my money, I do not want credit with your company, this is not an exchange, you have done nothing, shipped nothing, I have no interest in doing business with you in the future.
If you ship an item I will return it at your expense after you have refunded my money.
Very Sincerely,
JT""
"Placed an order for a part needed for my dryer. Tried to cancel order ten minutes later since Sears notified me that there part was not back ordered and was shipped. Response was, "we cannot cancel an order for an in stock part". Needless to say, never received a refund or the part so that I could return it for a refund. I think this website may be fraudulent."
"My last letter to them sums it up. Of course they ignored it. Your company is incredibly arrogant and complacent about the awful way you handled my order. I communicated about the shipping problem DAILY and was given misinformation every day about the shipping and arrival time. I stressed in each communication the need to have it this week and I paid for 3 day shipping on 9/3. Now your company seems content that it shipped from the farthest location in the continental US and by the slowest method possible for arrival on 9/15 which is too late for my job. You could have and still can overnight a bracket to me to honor your obligations but instead chose to waste your time and mine with endless chat and email explanations and apologies that ring hollow in the light of your failure to do anything to mitigate or make right on your mistakes. Of course I expect a refund of all shipping charges but that doesn't go nearly far enough. You can still expedite a bracket to me so I can complete my job. That is the least you can do but based on your previous actions I don't expect much. I'd at least like a response that indicates you've read what I said instead of the usual scripted apologies and restatement of my tracking numbers."
"Very good support and price and help. Helped find my parts. Ordered easily at a good price and received my order promptly."
