"UPDATE!!!!:I filed a complaint with the BBB and here is the response AxionTech sent in reply to the BBB(They lied a total of 3 times, or just had no clue what they were talking about)
1. Lie #1- Their statement "I also would like to add...
Mr. SYkes had the broken piece in his room while he was on the phone requesting Axion to refund his motherboard."
My response- Seeing that I was emailed about it being broken how was I on the phone with a Axion employee yet alone be holding the broken piece of the motherboard?(actually two lies in that)

2.Lie #2 Their statement-"My point here is that Axion still have the board with the broken socket in our hand when Mr.Sykes was informed.
My response - They NEVER called me once I had to call them everytime. PLUS how could I check the board to see if it was broken after Axion emailed me back (after my 4 emails to get them to respond)if it wasnt at my apartment. I COULDNT...BUT IT WAS HERE AND I DID so thats a huge lie.

3. Lie # 3-"We have the board and Mr.Sykes has the broken piece."
My response- Oh really I didnt even know it was broken until it was back at my apartment and emailed Andrew(manager) about filing a complaint.

Its obvious you guys messed up and lied and broke it. Most likely no1 really knows where I am coming from unless they saw the way things worked out. But you guys know you LIED and cheated me out of my money. I hope it plagues you because you are very poor un respectable people.

I just bought $1,000 worth of items from NewEgg order from them. They got it to me in 2 days.

If you buy anyone buy www.newegg.com. They have the best service and their support contacting actually works along with current real time status of your transactions. As for www.axiontech.com, do NOT buy from them they are plague with irresponsible people with bad website support and horrible human relations. Their motto is " The customer is always wrong". Take a hike Axion we do not want you anymore.

"I ordered the Epox 8rda+ mobo.

The price was very competitive.

I specified 3-day select USPS shipping and the package was on time.

The product was in excellent condition on arrival.

This was my first order with AxionTech and I was very pleased. Would definitely do business with again!

"Bad experience. The price was good, but they messed up the address on my package, resulting in a 4-day extra wait for the card and as a result, I didn't have the package in time for the trip I bought it for. More attention to detail is needed for this place to become a good reseller."

"This is a shortened version of my earlier response:

Summary--I ordered a NIC and a surge protector on the 7th of January. For some reason the payment didn't go through until three days later. I used the same card with other resellers with no hassle, and I definitely did not max out.

It's impossible to get a hold of a live tech represenative. When you click "live support" link a pop-up appears and gives a 404 error. You must submit a form to get a response. My response didn't come for two business days, not including the day I submitted the form. Also, I could not get a tracking number from their website after logging in. Fortunately, they sent it e-mail form.

They sent my tracking number shortly after my order cleared, but according to UPS the order did not leave their warehouse until the 13th.

So in short, this is a warning to return customers: In the past, they were a great reseller. My record with them goes back to April of '01. However, don't expect such great service if you order something now.

And what ever happened to those hardware guides they (Steven Liu?) used to post?

Final edit: Turns out the network card is okay after all! So the only problem I had with Axion was delayed processing and the incompleteness of their new webpage.

"I ordered one item from this company and everything arrived on time and in satisfactory condition. I just wanted to say that most (not all) of the complaints listed here are not that serious. I work for another website, and when people are involved, mistakes happen. Let the customer service reps fix the problems before you blast the company for something minor, Sheesh! Our policy regarding email is we reply within 24 hours, so give them some leeway. Also, just a note on shipping for Axiontech. Try Fedex for your smaller overnight and 2 day packages. It will save you and your customers money. My .com negociated an unbelieveable rate."

"First they tell me on a phone call that they have my plasma, then they tell me on the phone its in stock, then I arrange my electrician, home theater specialist and carpenter who start the working then they EMAIL - not call me to let me know that guess what, its not in stock oh and when it gets in(even though they didnt know)they are charging me more than I was originally paying. So after an exhausting phone call the manager andrew told me it wasnt there problem and to go boink myself, oh and P.S.- Im out over three grand from contractors on Axioms word! Think before you buy- I BEG YOU, oh yeah where also suing them : )

"I rate them among the best online vendor. I bought a motherboard in last June. It failed in December, within 1 year warranty. I sent the motherbaord after getting an RMA #. The same day the m/b reached them, the replacement was shipped, and showed up in ups tracking info. this is really great customer service. I will buy from them again."

"I have not purchased from this company and I won't, for the following reason:

I have noticed that they manipulate their listings on PriceWatch, to make it appear that their prices are always "going down" (displaying the little green arrow, for those who are familiar with PriceWatch) when in fact their prices never change. One case in point is the 2.4 GHz Xeon processor. It has been at $200.00 incl. shipping for a couple of weeks now. And the little green arrow is always present, which is supposed to indicate a recent price drop. If you look at the last update time, it is always at 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning. I haven't actually caught them at this yet, but I suspect someone is going in and raising the price for a couple of minutes and then putting it back down to get the arrow to display.

I have notified PriceWatch of this and hopefully they will find a solution as they have done with the shipping price scams (notice how everything is "no-profit shipping" or "flat rate" or even "free" now?)

I just want everyone to be aware of this, and point out that if they are willing to go through this much trouble to be deceptive on such a small scale, what else are they being deceptive about???

[EDIT] Since I could find no way to respond to Andrew's comments, I am adding this to my original post.

First of all, the shipping remark was not aimed at Axion Technologies. I made this comment as an example of one of the globally deceptive pricing practices that PriceWatch solved by adding the TotalMaxCost column to include shipping charges. This eliminated many resellers' practices of charging a very low price for the product then gouging the customer on shipping and handling charges.

I used it to point out how PriceWatch has successfully solved deceptive practices in the past.

And to you, Andrew, I have the following response:

If your prices aren't changing, why do you need to update them in PriceWatch at all? Unless it is to get the green arrow and give the impression that your prices are dropping when in fact they aren't?

And no, I am not your competitor. I am a small builder of high performance systems, and I have been watching Xeon prices lately to see where the new 533 MHz Xeons will come on the U.S. market. I probably would not have noticed what you were doing if it were not for the fact that you have the lowest price on 2.4GHz Xeons, which shows up in the CPU summary on PriceWatch.

No other vendors seem to have trouble keeping their prices updated. Methinks the vendor doth protest too much.

"My Follow up (January 8, 2003):

As a follow up to the original message listed below and in response to the comment made by the Axion Employee....

It is now Jan 08, 2003 and I still have not received the so called re-routed fedex package (which was suppose to be a christmas present by the way) and I was charged for in Dec 21, 2002

Matter of fact, based of the fedex tracking information Axion had the package re-delivered to a location which wasn't even specified in the order and it was lost.

To show the type of customer support the company provided in this incident, it took 7 emails, 2 phone calls and a threat to pursue legal action to get the package re-routed.

After finding out my package was lost (sign and sent to the wrong address), the company was contacted today to get a full refund.... which they did agree too.

But I can't stop to wonder how long that will take and if the money gets refunded to the right account based off my recent dealings with this company.

I stand by my initial comments. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with on the internet.

Original Message:
One of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. They shipped the item I purchased to the wrong address and when confronted about the issue they would not take responsiblity to resolve the problem. I will never order from this company again. There customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with.

"Axion Tech has always prided itself with the fact that they make no money on shipping, and I believe that is true. However, I ordered a hard drive on Tuesday Dec. 17th and I chose to have it shipped via UPS Next Day Air. This shipping cost me $24.85 whereas regular ground shipping cost only about $7.00. I figured the shipping cost is fair because I know it costs more to ship faster. Anyway, I checked the status of my order the next day (Wednesday 18th) and noticed that the status was "Packed" and the shipping type was set to "Ground". I immediately emailed the purchasing manager, Peter, because his name appeared on the invoice as the sales person that handled this transaction and told him about the mixup and asked him to please ship it via UPS Next Day Air because I needed this hard drive by Friday the 20th. I never got a response from Peter. Today is the 20th and I finally received an email giving me a tracking number and telling me that my hard drive had been shipped. When I checked the status at ups.com, the scheduled delivery was set to Dec. 23rd (3 days later than when I needed it and almost a week from the day I ordered it) and the shipping type was still "Ground." So yes, it is true that they would have made no profit on shipping if they had shipped it via Next Day Air, but I ended up paying over 3 times the cost of ground shipping, which is the shipping I got."

"Good company to deal with online.
The two items I ordered were not in stock, but they had said so when I phone ordered from them.
I picked up my order in person since I'm close by, and their staff is friendly and willing to help.

"I do a lot of online computer hardware/software buying, but I had never heard of Axiontech.com. I found this vendor while comparing prices for a Lian-Li PC-6089 case on PriceWatch.com. I by-passed a couple of other known and trusted vendors because axiontech.com's price for the case was much less than their quoted prices, and the shipping price was dramatically less. So, noting their "Gold" rating here, I committed to the purchase. As an afterthought, I came back here later to read review comments. Bad idea. I got nervous because so many reviewers were unhappy with axion.com (especially motherboard purchasers) and it seemed for good reason. I figured I had fallen into the trap of "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" when it came to Axion's base price for the case and especially their quoted shipping price of $9.06 for a large computer case. Plus there was the fact that it wasn't in stock and was being drop-shipped by their supplier. I also never received a reply from Axion to my email regarding an anticipated follow-on email informing me of shipping dates, etc. . An Axion employee I spoke to about the transaction and shipping was extremely nice and helpful. The case purchased on 12/6 arrived in mint condition (UPS gound) on 12/11. With the exception of a tiny glitch (no follow-on email), my dealings with this company for this first, of what should be many purchases, were 100% positive. This is especially true considering the Lian-Li case is a pricey purchase and worthwhile only if it arrives in mint condition as mine did. How they manage to undercut all other well known .com's in item price and beat them thoroughly in shipping cost, I'll never know. Must be a thinner profit margin and desire to stay in business. Fine company, though their review history indicates a lot of problematic motherboard sales. There is another vendor here named "Axiom.com" (note the spelling), and I wonder if some reviewers are confusing the two in their reviews. "

"The total of order was $14.95. My account was charged for $22.33. When I called they said they had a software glitch and there is actually $7.38 shipping charge so they just charged my account without contacting me and getting my authorization. Also they said that nothing can be done because the order is already processed. The invoice they have sent me by mail (I didn't ask for it, but two copies arrived) states the order was shipped on November 18.
Later it turned out that they actually shipped the order on November 26 while my account was charged on November 18. The link to track the shipment they provided in the e-mail on November 27 pointed to FedEx site with UPS tracking number - of course it didn't work.
On the first page of AxionTech.com there is a statement that the company doesn't make profit on shipping. I'm not sure this is true because the shipping charge is relatively high for a small, light and inexpensive item (which arrived in a unnecessary large box).
My conclusion: AxionTech.com is not honest, does not care about customers and is not organized. I will never shop there again.

"First experience with this company was great. No complaints at all. This time I recieved a motherboard that was in it's product box, which was in a large box with little cushioning and deflated air sacs. The motherboard box itself was crushed on one end but the shipping box was not damaged, which leads me to believe the motherboard box was dropped before it was put into the shipping box. The motherboard was under the cardboard separater on the bottom of the box, with the foam insulation on top of the motherboard. The motherboard manual had corner creased pages. The motherboard box contents were also in total disarray. Tested the board anyway with 2 working Amd Cpu's, stock heatsinks/fans. No post. Requested RMA this date after trying to telephone TechSpt/RMA Dept from 9:00Am to 9:30AM CST. No answer first few times, last time recorded message said they were unavailable and to leave a message. I'm a bit dissapointed with this experience but prior experiences were First Class.

(edit) 12/4/02 23:30 EST Thank you for your response. I did get your Sales phone hours and you Tech phone hours mixed up. (Thanks for not yelling it at me :D )Also please resend your email as I have not recieved it at this time. Thanks again.

(2nd Edit 12/8/02 1900 EST) During ice storm power outage, I recieved a telephone call from Axion-Roy who personally supplied me with a RMA. Apparently my ISP email is acting up again. (Regular Occurance) Btw, Axion-Roy did some investigating to get my phone number as the one on my account is wrong. Thanks Roy, pkg is otw Monday since things have been powerless here for a bit.

(Edit) 12/13/02

Ok Status ( I had to telephone this date because checking RMA status on their website would not work): Motherboard was recieved and tested by Axiontech, they said it was good. Which is amazing considering the very sloppy shipping that was done. I hope it is good as I have to sign a PDF form, with credit card number for return shipping they said is going to be Emailed to me. Then Fax it back to them so they have my authorizationg to charge for return shipping. (heh, it would be the very first email since ordering and RMA) Over all very uncoordinated process of communication, although they seemed to try when pressed (Resellerrating). But to be fair: My alt Email filtered their emails, They have Tech support (haven't used), Support guy went out of his way to contact me. My conern is mainly that the motherboard, even though dropped-shipped from their vendor, was rattled around in box and motherboard box has one end damaged when it arrived. That was done before it was placed in shipping box. I just don't like getting a motherboard box that shows signs of damage to it, even though the motherboard was tested as good. Who knows what may have been loosened on it. Not going to do business with them again myself because I think they should have replaced it because of that. Other than my last experience with AxionTech, it was good.

(Edit 12/18/02) Recieved via Email a .pdf form that's to be printed, filled out (with credit card info & signature), signed, and faxed to AxionTech. The form authorizes AxionTech to charge your credit card for return shipping costs. Problem is there is no mention of what they are going to charge you to return your item. Emailed Roy 12/17/02 after trying to telephone him several times that day. Btw, when you hit an extension number for the person you want to call, you have to say your name so that the person will know who it is before they pick it up. Good way to not talk to someone you don't want to. 12/18/02 Emailed the General manager and Hugo who is listed as being in charge of returns in hopes of finding out how much they are going to charge to return my dropped (but it passed there test) $153.00 Plus $19.00 (to ship to them with RMA) Plus whatever they want to charge to send it back to me.
