"Recently I placed an order with BZBoyz. I should have read up on them before doing so. At first it seemed like everything was fine: within minutes of placing my order, they sent me an email confirming my order and the correct amount of my purchase ($126.74). A few business days later, they called and left a message on my answering machine. As requested, I called "Rob" at ***-***-****; this is not a phone number that they seem to publish anywhere, by the way.
He tried to tell me that the OEM AMD Athlon XP 2400+ I had purchased was "unreliable" and that if I bought it they wouldn't be able to take it back. He offered to upgrade my order to a retail CPU. He said the normal price difference was $40, but he would give it to me at cost, which was around $23. (Their own web site currently shows the OEM at $84.70 and the retail at $101.44, only a $16.74 difference.) This leaves two possibilities: the OEM chips are reliable and he was lying, or they were indeed faulty and they had failed to disclose that when selling to me. In either case, that's fraud and illegal under Texas law.
Since this smelled to me like a bait-and-switch, I declined. The next day I received an email telling me that they had cancelled my order because my credit card had not cleared. Except when using it in person, I never give out my real credit card number. My credit card company makes it easy for me to generate single-use numbers with arbitrary charge limits, so all BZBoyz had was a number good for a single charge of $127 or less. Indeed I could see that they had already charged all but $0.26 of that. A call to my credit company confirmed that they had made that charge and that there would be no reason for my card not to clear, though I have to wait a couple days before disputing the charge. (I've done that before with this credit card company, and I'm not expecting any trouble with that.) Again, this leaves a limited number of possibilities: either they tried to charge me a second time, or they tried to increase my charge beyond the original amount, or they had just never intended to sell that product at that price and cancelled my order because I didn't fall for their scam. Thus I am confident that they intended to defraud me.
Oh, and did I mention that the email address I gave them (which contained their company's name and domain, so it's not something anyone could have found elsewhere) is already receiving spam? That's sure not in accord with what their privacy pledge claims.
So in summary: they run a bait-and-switch, try to overcharge you and defraud you, and generally don't give the slightest hint of being an honest business. Oh, I almost forget. They offered me a discount if I posted on a review site (I think it was e-pinions) and gave them the URL with my order. If there are *any* positive reports about this company, that's the reason. Time to find a different place to buy my CPU and motherboard.
An update: *I THINK I'VE FIGURED THIS COMPANY OUT*
After reading more of the posts here, I think I've figured out what they're *really* doing. Of the products advertised on their site, they probably only ever intend to stock or sell 20% of them. When someone orders something they don't have, they try to bait and switch to something (almost invariably more expensive) that they do have, and failing that will just cancel the order without explanation. The brilliant part about this is that they never need to sell a single working product. For all we know they might actually be buying broken parts that have been returned to other vendors--the other vendor at least gets something back, and BZBoyz gets what they can pass off as working equipment. So they sell people broken stuff, and occasionally they do actually ship it. Naturally they make money off the exorbitant "restocking fees" and other such lemon law violations. And while your part is being "tested by experts" for 6 weeks, they can sell it to other people, who will of course return it as well. Thus they really don't have to buy much at all. And by keeping customer service non-existent, they make sure to keep the returns rolling. Add in paid positive reviews, fraud and lies, and a general aversion to honesty, and you have what might be a very profitable operation."
"Great service, good product, fast delivery and cheap."
"No problems with the order or the shipment. I would have thought that the chip would have been in the motherboard when it was shipped, but it was probably safer being shipped separately. Not an issue, just not what I'm used to.
"
"Always a fan of the ASUS name, you sent me an incredible mother board for the price. Over $30.00 less than almost anywhere else I looked!!! And that was including shipping in some cases !!! Excellent packaging, Moderate shipment time, and SOLID Communication. I would recommend you to anyone who needs a product you offer!!! I'd maybe even be your spokeperson!!! (Only pay I's ask for is a Geforce Fx 5900 Ultra... Is that asking so much ??? ;-p )
Thanks again for the great service and product all kidding aside.

"This order was for 2 strips of 1 gb ddr 2100 memory upgraded to 6 layer board and for 2 thermaltake cooling kits. Both kits shipped had been previously opened and USED. One I was able to salvage for my purpose, the other was incomplete and totally unusable. This gives me great pause about doing business with this company again. They shipped returned goods that were not re-salable.
What else is happening? Is this really DDR 2100 memory, or just marked as such? Did I get somebody's return that will not work for me? Is this really a 6 layer board or did they ship a 4 layer board and call it 6? So far I have not had any return commen from the company. Until I do, I will not do any more business with them and advise others that they may not wish to either.
-----------------------
Sequel One of the strips of DDR did not work either (threw errors in 1 mobo, would not work at all in a second). No reply to any complaints. Returned 1 of the heat spreaders and stick of ram. Received boilerplate email about how long it would take (too long), but that they would gladly make it shorter if I paid them (yeah right). Without a doubt, this has been the worst experience with any reseller that I have ever had."
"I was very pleased with the service and products that I purchased from this company. They had what I wanted in stack and did not call me trying to sell something else. The order was filled promptly. All of the items that I ordered were in the original packaging, so I know it was new. Best of all, all components worked perfectly when they arrived.
I had just return a Motherboard to another company that was not in the original packaging and had dust between the capacitors. It was obviously not new but was sold to me as a new item. The keyboard and mouse ports did not work when I got it and I ended up having to pay shipping costs in both directions for something defective. This was very displeasing to me.
I am delighted to have found a reputable company that has excellent service and did not try the old bait and switch routine. In the future, I will be ordering all of my computer components from bzboys.com.
Thanks,
Greg Hodge"
"Ordering was easy and prices were competitive. The problem was that if you have problems with your order you have no chance of getting them resolved by this company!! Terrible customer support (actually NO support at all!!)"
"My dead & used motherboard saga ended with VISA giving me a full refund. The entire transaction was bogus, they lied to VISA and I was shocked they are still in business. Positive comments must be ficticious at best. My experience was so bad I am still upset a year later. Read the posts! Stay away."
"BAIT AND SWITCH!!! I ordered a processor and two sticks of RAM. After placing my order, they called me to ask what mobo I was going to intstall the RAM in. Then they told me that the RAM I ordered wouldn't work (now the switch), and then quoted me a price for compatible RAM. Here is how the scam works. The price that they quote you on the "compatible" RAM is not the price at all. Instead, it is the additional amount that they add on to your original order. However, they don't tell you that. Instead, you find out when you see two charges on your credit card. The final result is that they charge you $140 for memory that you can get ALL DAY LONG for under $100. Can you say "RIP OFF"?"
"My motherboard literally caught on fire. After a very, tedious and stressful 2 weeks full of phone calls and emails I talked to someone who seemed that they could help me. “Mike” in the RMA department. I talk to mike, and he says since I had my motherboard running fine for several months, it was clear that the problem wasn’t with my installation and that they would send it back to the manufacture. He gave me an RMA number and I send it to them. Three weeks later I get my motherboard back with it came a note that said my RMA was rejected due to “fan installation”. It was never even shipped back to the manufacture. As long as I live, I hope never to have to deal with these people again.

"I am extremely pleased with my order. The product exceeded my expectations, and was delivered well before I expected it. I will definitely check with this company for any further needs."
"I placed an order on a Monday for a Fed Ex 2 Day delivery. It wasn't until late Thursday that they called and said there was a problem with my order. When asked why they took 3 days to ask me about my order, they disengenuously stated they are talking to me now. Bate and switch: they changed the motherboard, cpu, and ram on me. Then it didn't ship till Friday and I got it the next week on a tuesday."
"great service, verry informative, no complaints
