"Banana Hobby was actually a very good experience for me. I placed and order on Friday, decided I didn't want it on Monday, so I called them and was on hold maybe 10-15 minutes. I told the lady I wanted to cancel my order and it was done no questions asked. I really don't understand what all the bad reviews are about. I also used the live chat before the order was placed and they were very helpful on there as well."

"Horrible Customer Service!!!!! I'm in the middle of a live chat (which has taken about 30 minutes so far) to request and RMA because of a defective airplane and they just disconnect right in the middle of my conversation for LUNCH! Are you kidding me? Besides that I feel that they are just stringing me along trying to find a way out of an exchange. I do not recomment this company."

"I ordered an RC Tank and was sent an airsoft instead of an infrared tank. Shipping was extremely high ($16) and return shipping was $12. They wanted me to pay an additional $16 to receive the correct tank, that puts shipping out to$46 for an hundred dollar tank! Customer service was slow online, and slow over the phone. They insisted that return authorization takes 15 days. This was to be a birthday present for my little boy, and the time constraint was out of bounds. I was going to buy 2 additional tanks, but because of their poor customer service decided not to do business with them."

"Banana Hobby is HORRIBLE and NOT HONEST
I purchased 2 RC tanks at the same time. The morons shipped the tanks with the same band frquency and claimed they could not switch the crystals. They wanted me to send the tanks back and they would ship new ones. Now why the hell would I want to pay shipping for the SAME tanks 2 more times when it was their mistake to begin with? The customer service reps are just plain ass stupid. You can tell they are dealing with 5 other people at the same time and DONOT listen. It took almost 2 hours on online support (support, what a joke) to get ABSOLUTELY no where. I ended up sending the tanks back and they lost a $200 + plus sale because they were too ignorant to send me a $2 part. Now lets see if they actually do return my money within the 15 days that they claim. BIG TIME SCAM ARTISTS THAT SELL CRAP.

"I recently ordered an item from Banana Hobby. One, the shipping was extremely high. My item did not even weigh a pound and I was charged over $12.00. Two, they advertise they ship by USPS, but when I went to check out UPS was all I could select. Three, they list shipping is 2-3 days, try again it's more. Four, I contacted them for a shipping status and they did not even e-mail me back. Five, their online support hours are bogus. Finally, I would go elsewhere if I were you and unfortunately for me I did not find this review page until after my experience with them. I will not order from them again nor refer them to anyone I know who is an RC enthusiast."

"DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM BANANAHOBBY.

I purchased a RTF jet, F22 with retracts from banananhobby. The jet came but the transmitter/receiver did not work. I got an RMA after some "negotiations" with them and sent it back to them. They sent back the same transmitter/receiver with a "No trouble found" indication. It still did not work. I am positive that I was following the binding instructions properly - I watched their Youtube video that explained the process and followed what they explained. I bought a Spektrum DX6i transmitter/receiver and discarded the junk that came with the jet.

The jet worked for a little while. I had some hard landings that bent the landing gear (my fault), though the landing gear was plastic and aluminum and not very durable. The 3rd time I took the jet to fly, the ESC failed mid flight and almost burned the jet up - luckily the positive lead from the battery unsoldered itself from the ESC during the thermal event. Requested a new ESC and they said I would have to pay for it. So, I bought an E-flite ESC for $85 and once again discarded the junk (burned) ESC that came with the jet. I was able to retrofit the new ESC into the plane with a little coercing.

I ordered replacement landing gear from bananahobby for the damaged landing gear. They indicated that it was backordered for 6 weeks. After 8 weeks I get another e-mail that it will be another 4 weeks. So, now I will have to find and retrofit new landing gear for the jet. I've had the jet for the entire year and have only been able to fly it 3 times.

In my opinion, their stuff is junk. I've been to the local hobby shop that only sells more reputable brands and they have also indicated that they have heard that bananahobby sells junk from other patrons. I did not do much research on them before purchasing and I wish that I had. I was drawn by the cool jet designs that they offered. The airframe is made of very brittle styrofoam, not the durable "Z-foam" that is desirable. I have a hobbyzone SuperCub that has given me no problems whatsoever and is very durable.

I've put $250 additional into a "RTF" jet from Bananahobby that cost $239 initially. Not very RTF in my opinion. I will have to retrofit landing gear as well since I can't even buy replacements from them.

"I've purchased many things recently from Banana Hobby, and I've been very pleased.

Their packaging is far better than just about every retailer I've done business with. They take the time to bubble wrap everything. My orders ship quickly, and their shipping prices are fair.

I had one issue (my fault) with an order, and the online support was a breeze to use, and they were able to resolve it quickly.

I've read many of the complaints on BH, and fortunately I've either been lucky, or they've made progress in turning around their company.

"I read a handfull of reviews before writing my own. I fit right in with the majority, chinese junk is what they sell, lip service is what they give. What a nightmare! I bought a sky surfer, with the upgraded brushless motor option, thought it might be worth it in the long run. Wrong! The electronics were all screwy, had to send the radio kit back so they could repair it. As far as the plane goes, I should have taped some wings to a brick, and thrown it off the roof. It would at least have spent more time in the air than this plane has. It has almost no response to input, and extremely slow when it chooses to do anything. It always comes home in several pieces. It may be foam, but it still breaks fairly easily. Junk! Do yourself a favor, go anywhere else for your toys. Banana Hobby is a perfect name though, cause it's run by a bunch of chimps! 9-04-11 update. I still have not gotten this contraption off the ground. I've gotten no response to e-mails asking for help. Phone calls get lost in the shuffle when they say "let me connect you with a tech guy" I guess the guy pushing the broom was not around. At this point I have to try changing the electronics, and salvage something out of this mess. There is no excuse for any of this. They should not be allowed to run a business!"

"Summary: DON'T BUY FROM THEM, and if you do be VERY VERY VERY VERY sure that ALL parts and pieces are in PERFECT order prior to doing ANYTHING. Also, even if you do, prepare yourself to pay for ALL shipping cost to get the busted items back to them... even if you did nothing wrong. Happy Flying 'pilots'!!

Good:
* Great product reviews, great detail on products as well.
* EPO EDF Jet does look really great and should be a really fun model once fixed and made correct.
* Girls really do like model jets... No serious... They stop to look.

Bad:
* Sold me items that were not in stock
-Was told I could Cancel the order, wait at least 2wks, or ship with missing items and NEVER receive them but still pay full price.
* Received two products on order broken from factory.
- Claimed product would be fine, though broken.
- Offered insulting refund for trouble.
- Was sent a replacement part instead of insulting refund, though I didn't want the part and have no need for what will be sent. At least its value will be better than the lame refund.
* Product comes partially assembled, but quality of build is so poor I wish they just sent it 100% NOT assembled.
- Gluing was poor job; quality of glue used was terrible.
- Airframe of the plane was cracked nearly in half from the factory.
- Radio was not installed and should have been, also proves the 'testing' done on the quality card inside is made up at best.
- Battery connection cable was way up inside and nearly impossible to fish out for use.
- Nicks and chips in paint and foam right out of the box.
- Stripped screws on the bottom, nearly impossible to get out to replace them.
- front nose gear ‘socket’ not installed correctly.
- Resin bottle was broken, the lid leaked like a siv and made a huge mess. And will now dry up and go to waste.

Worse:
* HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... GOOD GRAVY BAD!!!
- They act helpful, totally a waste of time.
- Their first offer is their last offer.
- Their first offer is the lamest offer you could think possible.
- All issues with your order are deemed somehow your fault, and they are really nice for helping bridge the gap between you and China, so you should think better of the horrid offer made the first time. Really you should be glad you get anything, you got such a deal on busted items to start with. (No intentional sarcasm made here)
- Everyone claims to be a supervisor when you ask for one... You will NOT get anyone who really is some kind of a supervisor.

"This outfit should not be allowed to sell merchandise to costumers! I have never experienced something so below the belt in my life. Now I don't ask why they are not on E-BAY because there you have some tools as a buyer to get back to a shady "busyness" like that.

"This company is horrible to deal with, just like all the other reviews there customer service is all but non-existent. I ordered a boat for my son June 6th, still have not received it and dealing with them now saying they are "tracing" it through UPS, which is nothing short of another ploy to buy more time to ship me what appears will be JUNK, according to all the other reviews. I wouldn't buy anythinbg from this business and only wish I had looked at the reviews prior to purchasing my sons boat. Now I have to wait until thursday to see what UPS' investigation reveals."

"we have bought many things from banana hobby for instance my rc nitro car, my dads 2 helicopters and no problems at all. and for those people how have heli problems this is the thing when you first get it you have to set it up to work correctly. same goes for the nitro rc cars so to sum it all up Banana Hobby is our main hobby shop and the customer service is adequate. "****DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY***
They have absolutly zero customer service, the support system is a couple of french fries short of a happy meal!!

The support from this company is like the movie "ground hog day", you just keep reliving the same sequence over, and over, and over, and over with the same result at the end....
I have to give them credit as they have have perfectly designed their support system in an absolute endless loop so you can get nowhere. You can call their contact number any time in a 24 hour period and get the same result and message.
"Due to the large call volume your wait may exceed 25 miniutes" You can call this number endlessly and get the same "canned" message. Then it asks you to go to their website and use their "live support" option. This takes the comedy act
to another level. After 30-45 min waiting for the "live chat" operator the response time between your "question" and the operators "answer" is about 7 min. After you ask a few questions EVERY SINGLE TIME a warning pops up stating "you
will be disconnected in 1 min due to a scheduled security scan".
Once the security scan message pops up your TOAST! Now you have to begin the sequence again, trust me, try it and you will get the same results.
For the few miracle times I was able to get an actual person to answer they knew absolutly NOTHING about the product they are selling. They were reading from the same half chinese half english manual that was provided and is absolutly no
help. The Product I received is USED, Broken, and Not Functional. It is also NOT the product that I ordered from their website. It looks nothing like the product advertised.
In the end they are trying to blame me and will accept no responsibility for any problems. Their BBB rating is an "-F" and they were suspended from the BBB. Their "reseller ratings" is a 2.22 out of 10.0 rating. This company has 337 BBB complaints with the same as mine and most worse!
