"In a word, HORRIBLE. I hope you are reading this before you make the mistake of placing an order with Banana Hobby. Their web site touts customer service, but that could not be farther from the truth.
My RC boat never worked out of the box. I sent an extensive email to the help line listed on the web site explaining what was wrong and what I had done trying to get the boat to work. No reply after three weeks. I followed up with another email. No reply. I canceled the charge on my credit card. Ah! Finally an answer. Banana Hobby wanted pictures of the boat and the box. I told them that was not reasonable and to send me a prepaid shipping label and I would return their boat. No response.
Save yourself some trouble...order somewhere else."
"I purchased a Warthog V2 Acrobatic A10 in November 2010. The RTF package spec's stated 6 channel 2.4 GHZ Tx, Rx, new version reinforced wings with carbon rods, retracts etc. Paid $ 169.95. At first I was very impressed, until I discovered the Tx, Rx was FM and I had ordered an extra 11.1 3s 2500 mah battery and they shipped me a 2200 mah. I made contact the next day with customer service after a 25 minute wait. I was instructed to take pictures of Tx,Rx & battery and email to a specific email address. After many emails, chat sessions ETC.,they finally found my pictures and one month later shipped me an Sky Flight 2.4GHZ 8 channel system and a 2800 mah battery. Very bad customer service communications. Finally after completing assembly, first flight by a proffessional RC person in my club, the plane did not fly properly, not sure of problem, went into a dip, pulled up and the right wing snapped off. crashed & burned. Carbon rods were in the middle of wings, not thru the wing at the fuselage. Snapped off at fuselage. Was not worth the effort to try and resolve issue with Banana Hobby.
Scrapped air frame, salvaged parts for another plane.

BE VERY CAREFUL DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE. THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!!!!

"Same here. Bought a 4 channel Air Hawk helicopter. Came with one of the Swash plate control arm ball joints stripped out. Took pictures, sent detailed emails, no response. Ended up buying one just so I could fly the heli. Do Not Purchase from this company if you value quality equipment or customer service. I know the prices are temping but don't get sucked in. This business is absoutely terrible."
"just had a similar experience as below..ordered for a kids Xmas present and could not get them to do anything for 1 month although we have contacted them 5X and spent a while on hold as well...missing parts in an RC model airplane...advice: don't order from these guys"
"More of the same to report. The model we ordered was obviously a return; partially assembled, missing parts, etc.
We've wasted two plus hours on the phone, and computer trying to communicate with them, and have been completley unsuccessful in even getting any response from anyone. We've notified our credit card company and hope that will at least reverse the charge so we can through away the junk without cost to us. Maybe, if thousands of people ordered something from Banana Hobby, stopped payment on their checks and credit card charges, then refused the shipment, Banana would get the idea that the way they do business is not accecptable. "
"Will never order from this company again. Order came incomplete and the company refused to send items that were purchased. We have spent countless hours on hold waiting to talk with someone and have no results. You may pay for items that are never delivered, they don't care. I think in some states this is called a theft."
"I bought a brand new BH's RTF Cessna 182. The radio transmitter and receiver did not work at all from day one. I tried to contact someone to get help and their service department kept putting me on hold and then never returning.
I finally used other RC products and services and put them on BH's plane. Finally, with Horizon Hobby and Tower Hobby parts...my Cessna finally flew great. "
"Banana Hobby is the worst company I have ever dealt with and I wish I had read the reviews about them before I bought my son a Firebird remote controlled micro mini helicopter. It stopped working within hours. I called the company twice (25 min. wait and 40 min wait, with the most god-awful static/unidentifiable music that I was forced to listen to) trying to get through to customer service. They were not helpful, and would not say anything except to ask me to send in pictures of the product, and to say someone would get back to me. Never heard from anyone. The operator was rude, as well, talking over me and frequently putting me on hold without telling me she was going to do this. Lot's of dead air space. Everything the critics have said about this company is true. Their policy is to stall, and then leave you hanging, with no intention of resolving or fixing a problem. Everything about this company is designed to put you off should a problem arise with one of their products. They never intended to practice good customer service with me or resolve my problem. I want everyone to know what a miserable experience this was (our helicopter is still broken). I would never buy from them again, and I urge everyone reading this not to buy from them. Learn from my mistake. I sent them $60 in good faith, and got a whole lot of nothing to show for it. They are probably laughing at all of us suckers. They should be put out of business. "I ordered the A10 thunderbolt with BH and since I placed my order They always been very helpful. I got a tracking # from USPS and every time I asked them a question (via life chat or E-mail) I got an instant reply.
So far so good. I hope that their product will meet my standards..... I'll post my review on their product when I get it.
In the mean time BH has been really good to me! Thx guys!"
"THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRODUCTS. I ordered a plane for christmas present. came assembled minus gluing on wings. The plane was broke, and they will not return. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THEM FOR A WEEK. THEY SEEM TO ALWAYS HAVE A 25 MINUTE WAIT OR JUST SIMPLY DO NOT CARE AND DO NOT WANT TO HELP YOU. "Purchased a f14 tomcat edf jet, i wanted the "black knight" version. Instead i received a "jolly Rodgers" version, also the left side turbine blade was totally chewed up, also the engine would cutt out at half throttle and at full throttle the elevator servos would start to flutter!!!!! Is this what i get for spending 300 hundred dollars? it took forever to reach an actual person from their online store... over 1 hour!!!! I went to their Headquarters based in city of Monterey Park, gave them accurate descriptions of the problems, and left the plane in their facility for warranty work.. It took two weeks to get it back and all they said was wrong with the jet was the speed control programming... I was very upset, im a certified Aviation mechanic, so i know what im doing and ive been in the hobby since i was six years old!!! they did not fix the engine, or the defective speed control, they "TOTALLY FAILED" in customer service and did not repair anything!! OH and their so called "TECH" makes his own hours, and does not know anything!!! i mean ANYTHING!!!! HOrrible! i will never buy with them again, neither should anyone else!!!! save the heart ache, and your money you work soo hard for!!!! They dont derserve it, soo now, the "BBB" is getting involved!!! and now ive spent more money on my jet putting quality components in.... unfortunately, i beleive this is the only way to have a real "RTF" with noooo problems... PLease dont buy from them, dont!!!!!! Buyer BEWARE!!!!"
"Ordered Abrams M1A2 tank but received German tank in a box that had been previously opened as evidenced by the re-taped box, loose styrofoam and torn inner packaging. I was going to give this as a gift...to a US Army Iraq Veteran...no way now! Was told I had to email pictures, but I don't even own a digital camera. WTF?!? Looks like I am screwed. "
