"I placed my order this morning for the F-86 Sabre 3D Aerobatic Radio Remote Control Electric Ducted Fan RC Fighter Jet RTF. Then in the afternoon I checked on reviews for Bananahobby.com and read all the horror stories here. Needless to say I got spooked and called the site to confirm my item was not out of stock. I waited on the phone about 4-6 min and then Laura came on the line. I told her I placed the order and wanted to check if it was in stock. She checked their inventory and said it went "Out of Stock" just today. I thought Oh god another rip off. I asked her to cancel the order, which she did. I asked her for a confirmation number and she said there was no number, but she would take care of it and hand it off to her billing department for cancellation. I paid by PAYPAL. I checked my PAYPAL account later in the afternoon and it had been cancelled as promised. Bottom line I got great customer service, but so spooked by the "Out of Stock just today" statement I would never buy from them again. Thanks again Laura !!!"
"This item was supposed to be in stock. I heard nothing from them other than confirmation. I actually had to contact them to find out that it would take an addition 2 weeks to get my product. I cancelled my order yet the money has yet to be returned to my account. Will NEVER buy from them again."
"Possibly the worst online experience I have ever had and I buy online several times a week. I ordered two helicopters from these people. Their prices admittedly were lower than most other US sellers by $10-20 but the selection was severely limited. Almost everything was out of stock. I was trying to buy a helicopter for my grandson. He has been searching through a hobby store magazine for some time and describing what he dreamed of having. He is fascinated by remote control cars, and mainly airplanes and helicopters. After a long search to find something suitable for him, I became convinced I needed one as well, so I searched some more and bought two. After 4-5 days I finally got a UPS shipping number and I had purposely waited until that happened before I revealed to him that his long awaited helicopter was finally on it's way. The shipping number was never updated beyond "billing information received" although my credit card was immediately charged $270. A day or so later I received an email from Banana hobby that they were not shipping anything for 5-10 working days, updating their systems and inventory and addressing problems from 2009!!!, online help would not be able to address problems with this and and if I still wished to receive my order after another 5-10 working days I could state that or enter cancel in a subject line of their email and I would get a refund. By this time I had entered another smaller order for parts specific to the helicopters I had tried to buy from them. Since I wished to cancel my order with them and stated that in my return email to them, I then went to X-heli to purchase two helicopters. Lo and behold my next credit card statement showed that they had not only not canceled the first $270 charge but had initiated another one, shipped the now unwanted helicopters anyway and contacting their online help person resulted in a very rude and unsatisfactory result with the person eventually just logging off and apparently not stopping any more orders from being shipped. I now have 4 helicopters when one would have really been enough. The disappointment inflicted on my grandson was awful and attempting to deal with Banana hobby is something that will never happen again. I am still unsure if the second order that I asked to be canceled will show up or not. With their massive out of stock condition, it was challenging in the extreme to find helicopters that had stocked spare parts and upgrades while their online self promotion on their website states that everything for your helicopter is in stock. Not even close. Since I finally got one charge refunded, I noticed that the second order has been charged. These people are impossible to deal with in all ways."
"When I ordered this item, I paid in full with the assurance it would be shipped in 2-3 days. When, after 9 days, I sent an inquiry as to why it had not been sent yet, I received no reply. A few days later I received notification it had been shipped, then on the 24th, they charged me again for the order. Now I have 2 overdraft fees totaling $60. I tried repeatedly to get through on their customer service line to no avail. Finally I tried the live chat option, and spoke with 'Brad' who told me that the money had been refunded the 23rd then recharged the 24th. He stated he would get a 'refund transaction number' even admitted the overdraft was THEIR FAULT, but said they would not pay the overdraft (which was originally 30, now $60) but then suddenly without warning disconnected the session. No I did not lose my internet connection, I monitor it closely.
I recommend that you do not purchase from banana hobby and wish only that I had checked reseller ratings BEFORE placing my order.
Addendum 03/04/2010: I still have not been credited the promised refund, they still do not answer their phones, their online customer service is now "offline." I am filing a complaint with the California State Attorney General and I urge everyone else that has been defrauded by this company to do the same."
"After 6 days of waiting for a tracking number, and after they had taken the amount out of my account, I sent them an email asking if there was a problem with my order, I was told that it was ready to ship and that it would in 2-3 days, I spent over an hour on hold with their customer service department only to be told to be patient, my order would ship in 2-3 days, I then asked them to cancel the order and give me a refund, they cancelled the order, and I was told that the account would be refunded in 2-3 business days, I am still trying to get my money back DON'T BUY FROM THEM

I was smart enough to get them in online chat, and saved every email and online chat, telling me my order was cancelled as per my request and my refund should appear in 2-3 business days, they finally stated it was "posted" on the 23 of feb....... It wasn't, and My bank is now going after them for fraud , I will get my money back,
I simply wish we could do more to prevent theses rip off artists, "
"Well, I pre-ordered a new offering, 50mm EDF F-86 from J-Power from BH. Pre-ordered the plane and an extra battery for it. I'll admitt I was a little scaried of BH from all the bad press they were getting on Groups, but it wasn't fair of me to judge as I've never delt with them, and placed the order. I've been in the hobby awhile and used to waiting for releases.
I got the plane Feb 10, 10. Opened the box and all is well, except the extra battery is AWOL. Got on the help chat at BH, only had to wait 5 minutes. Discussed my problem with a lady by the name of Janet, and things were settled in about 5 more minutes. She had me takes pics of the box and contents for proof that the extra battery was AWOL and send them to her, and I received a conformation letter in about 3 hours that the battery will be shipped.By the way, the little EDF jet is a blast to fly!!
All in all, the problem was delt with as I would expect by any company in this hobby. One has to remember, BH and Pete are dealers, not manufactures of the items BH sells. Check the fine print in all for the manuals that come with the planes, cars and boats....98% of them instruct you to contact the maker of the item, not the retailer if you have problems with the item. Anything that is broke, except for shipment damage, or breaks due to defect fall on the manufacture, not the seller. By the law, depending on state, the seller doesn't have to do a thing for you other then instruct you to contact the manufacture of the item with your problem, anything more then that that the seller does for you is a blessing. "
"What a joke. I bought a rc ship for my granddaughter for Christmes. It came with a defective battery cover and no screws for the battery cover. I sent several e-mails and made at least 15 phone calls with only one e-mail response.All I wanted was a replacement door. maybe a $2.00 item. They said I had to e-mail pictures and send them in order to return my purchase at my own shipping cost.I spent $63.00 to get the item and they want me to pay $20.00 to return it and another $20.00 to have another(possibly defective item)shipped out. I urge anyone thinking about using this company to find a store you can walk into and forget using this band of thieves. They have caused me to reconsider online shopping at all. What a nightmare. Banana Hobby should be ashamed. They stole a small childs Christmas gift and stole $63.00 from her Grandmother. Shame on them. I hope they go out of business or to jail for their dishonesty. "
"This is the worst business I have ever encountered. They lied about shipping dates, sent me two non-functional items, asked for pictures to verify, then never responded to me again. Three weeks after taking my money(too late for my Christmas presents to arrive), they sent an auto email saying that an out-of-stock item would be refunded. Now more than two months later I am having to go through a dispute with my credit card company to get the hundreds of dollars back. I sent them 7 emails and left 5 voicemails asking to cancel the order two weeks after I ordered it when the site said ships 1-3 days and they apparently avoid lying to people by avoiding them. The credit card company can't even get a hold of them. For my $500+ I got zero satisfactory items and hours of frustration trying to get a response from them. Banana Hobby is a CRIMINAL ORGINIZATION, not a business. Absolutely under no circumstances should anyone order from them, there are at least six other hobby stores in the U.S. I would recommend over these CROOKS. This is mind-bogglingly bad business!!!!!"

"As you can see by all the bad reviews that "BannanHobby is the worst company you can buy from. RC zero bought,charger bad , stab curved and bent,replace promised after multiple live chat and phone calls. Never recieved. Ordered P-38 with retracts and delivery date went from late Nov. to mid Dec. to late Dec. to mid Jan.to now "coming soon" as quoted so I cancelled order and did recieve credit(Thank God, that was scary).Between this mess I ordered Blitz RC Bipe.Item was slow to be delivered,packed so parts hit each other and fuselage was damaged,upon connecting battery as soon as throttled esc burned up burning fuselage inside too, stinking up my house and plane(permently stinks still). PICTURES requested of damage by Bannana.?? instead of automatic replace.So I had to take digital pics,download them to computer and then e-mail them with pics attached.A month and a half later after many more contact with this company, I was sent a replacement ESC and told to fix it your self with a notation that I may have plugged in battery backwards. Crap! It's a T connection and cant possibly be plugged in backwards.Battery would have been damaged too if this was the case..No fuselage replace.? Bad! Neck strap was to be included and never sent either even after many contacts.Customer service repeatedly doesnt answer and ignores questions asked in "live Chat. Cowl had spinner rubber burns as if this had been ran before. Reps,Fiona, Oscar, and others responces were seemingly RUDE at all times. I think the good reviews writen on these reviews are probley the exception rather than the norm. If you check extensivly on other sites and compare prices they much more expensive by far on most of their products.I wish I had done further shopping rather than buying from here.If you like being treated poorly then this the company for you!! Sorry Pete! You may already know that your hooked up with a really bad show.A real bad experience . Shop carefully RC lovers!! "
