"Update: I did get a phone call from Ben's customer service apologizing for the delay in my order which I did finally receive on Jan 21st. I was also issued a $10 credit. I was told by the CSR that Ben's is in the process of improving its customer service. The lack of communication was the main problem regarding this order. I am happy that I did receive my item and that a Ben's CSR took the time to call me and apologize.


On Dec 28, 2012 I placed an order for a Nikon 1 V1 camera which had what I considered at the time an almost-to-good-to-be-true price of $259.99. On December 30th I received a shipment confirmation from Ben's Outlet advising me that my order had been shipped. As many people have already noted on this website that does not mean that your item has actually shipped when it comes to Ben's outlet. The UPS tracking number never became active which is a common occurrence with this company. I sent an email to United Parcel Service (****@****) advising them that this company is using their UPS label printing system to create UPS tracking numbers so people will think their orders are on the way when they are not. Two days later the tracking number has been voided and a disclaimer from UPS now states "UPS does not have possession of this shipment" I have also contacted the Attorney General for Florida and PayPal. As of this date I have not received my camera but continue to be told via email that my item "will ship soon". STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. This is a classic example of a company churning money by selling non-existent inventory to keep the lights on. "
