"If it looks to good to be true, it probably is. The bike looked good. price was much less than other comparable offerings out their. Well, I found out why. The bike I received was missing parts. It was not a complete bicycle. I submitted a ticket. I have emailed and called multiple times. Was asked three times to send pictures in. I was told two days in a row I would have an answer as to how the issue was going to be resolved that day or with in 24 hours. What other answer is their than "we are sending the rest of your bike?" Then I hear nothing at all or an email telling me thanks for contacting them. Now I am told it takes 5 days to check with the parts department to see if they have a saddle and seat post in stock. It's been 4 weeks since they took my money and I still do not have a complete bicycle. What I have so far looks good, unfortunately it's not worth dealing with bikesonline.com.
Update:
Bikesonline.com sent me the missing parts within two weeks of me notifying them of the issue. The bike is super high quality. I would have had to pay more anywhere else for a bike configured the same. Bikesonline.com does have high quality bikes. They just need to work on their customer service a little.

We are mainly a distributer for Polygon and Marin bikes and unfortunately do not have extra parts to send out. It does take time to check with our team to see if we can get components. Your situation was finally elevated to the customer service manager today and we have shipped you a replacement saddle and seatpost. We will be looking into why this took so long to resolve.

"After eagerly waiting for over 2 months for my bike to arrive it shows up damaged. The box itself was practically open and the neck, brake lever, stem, and part of the frame looked as if it had been brushed on a gravel road. No frame or major damage, but, after waiting and paying a lot of money, it was not the "unveiling" of my BRAND NEW bike I had imagined.
I proceeded to contact customer service and was met with a complete lack of sympathy and offered a "$40 store credit". No option to repair or mend the damage, simply "this might have happened during the shipping". After several additional emails expressing my frustration and hoping to resolve the matter, I finally caved and accepted an offer to get the matter over and done with.
Personally, I would never buy anything from Bikesonline.com again due to the poor customer service, however, I know a couple of people who waited a few days for their bikes and had no problems. "

"I ordered my bike on the 19th and it is now the 27th and still hasn’t even shipped. I’ve called and left a voicemail and left 2 emails with no response. When I ordered the bike it said 24-72 hours it’d ship. It also said I’d have it in 9 days. It hasn’t even shipped after 8 days. Honestly I’m just frustrated with absolutely no communication. I’m terrified if it comes in damaged and I have to deal with them again. You better have a lot of patience and read all of the fine print before you do business with this company.
Update: I finally got an email back (after they responded to this review) and they simply said give it another week and they’ll get back to me. So their original ship in 24hours has turned into 2 weeks. Their response stating 5-7 days to process is contradictory to their website saying SHIP in 24-72 hours of purchase. They had a back ally covid update link that did say 5-7 days to process. Covid has been here for 2 years pick a new excuse or update your actual shipping tab. "

"I ordered 2 bikes, paid in full. Requested on the same day of the order to upgrade to a much more expensive bike....no response. Called their customer service line, unable to get a person. Online chat: "order confirmed, more expensive bike not available". No acknowledgement whatsoever to requests for shipping status (of bike 1 of 2) nor acknowledgement of bike 2 disposition. 3 weeks have gone by without any response by Bikes Online. Instigated fraud alert to credit card company.

"Paragon Mountain bike arrived in two months as promised. Out-of-the-box, good bike as advertised except rear disc brake non-functional. My first mistake was not returning the bike immediately. Being a rookie with disc brakes, not wanting to wait another two months for a replacement, and unaware of the potential cost/complexity of repair, I took it to my local bike mechanic. He worked with Shimano in a multi step diagnosis/repair process, after which Shimano declared it defective and sent a free replacement (thumbs up Shimano!). Unfortunately, the unexpected labor was not free. My second mistake was not going through Bikes Online repair process. As clearly stated in the warranty, if you don’t go through their process then Bikes Online won’t pay a dime to fix defective parts they shipped. Live and learn. Good bike. Advise to return immediately if not perfect on the box. "

Thank you for your feedback and we are so sorry your bike arrived with scratches and your box looked as though it was opened. We had a look and confirmed your bike did come from our warehouse in Simi Valley, California to your home on New York, as you can see on your tracking history.
Our returned bikes are sent to our Petaluma office, which is 7 hours north of our warehouse. Our boxes ship out brand new and if there is damage along the way FedEx usually re-tapes them be sure nothing falls out or they return to sender if damage is severe.
We see your bike is in transit and due to arrive to us Monday, September 23rd when we will issue a refund as you requested.”

Bikes Online did not deliver my Polygon bike with Deore Components I paid for. Bikes switched the advertised components on their bikes and expect you to be as dumb as dirt. They expect you to accept the bike without noticing their downgraded, inferior driveline and brakes. No apologies were made by Bikes Online, no admission of wrong-doing, no customer concern, and no resolution, because once they have your money, they stop replying to your emails (6 and counting). If you don’t like your bike, they advertise Free Returns, but you have to pay $300 for the shipping. FREE?? They’ll refund you less than you paid if you don’t return the bike unridden and perfectly repackaged. Bikesonline.com is unethical, dishonest, a rip-off, and frustratingly a waste of time and money. Stay Away! No matter how you interact with Bikes Online, YOU LOSE!!!!

As for components; on every single page on our website where it lists Specifications and Comparisons; we have a note that states: Note: Occasionally, without notice, manufacturers change product design and/or specifications. This is standard with all bike companies and happens at the factories, we do not do any switching of components. When you add the global shortage of bikes and components it can happen more frequently.
