Fall bulbs consistently ship LATE !

"I'm near Edmonton, Alberta (zone 3). Can easily have snow and COLD temps in September. Placed large bulb order Spring of 2021. Requested order be shipped at FIRST possible opportunity, due to early cold temps. Had frost and order STILL had not shipped, so fortunately was able to cancel.

Tried Breck's again Spring of 2023. Same time, ordered other bulbs from Vessey's. The Vessey order arrive 3 weeks before the Brecks order. Doubtful of bulbs will have time to establish themselves before freeze up. OH - Vessey shipping no more than Brecks. Vessey via Canada Post express, so arrived in 3 days. breck's shipping took nearly 2 weeks and tracking information was DAYs behind actual shipment progress. Ordered some 5-10-5 granular bulb food from Brecks. After it arrive and I saw how SMALL the package was, I did a little research. SIX times as expensive as 3 other possible suppliers. I'll be using OTHER companies from now on.

Healthy lilac

"I ordered a Sunday lilac and I received a well packaged lilac start that was full of beautiful green buds. I also ordered multiple dahlia bulbs that were packaged well and are healthy bulbs. I will recommend Brecks to everyone. I am totally satisfied and can't wait to order again."

The worst flower company out there on the web

"I had ordered lots of flowers from this company and just about everything died and I could not get any satisfaction when I tried to resolve my problems with this company. Their customer service is overseas and will not connect you to anyone in the USA to try and solve my problems. No matter how hard I tried I could not get satisfaction from anyone on the phone, understand that you only get to talk to people who are in a foreign country, you do not get to chat with an American in any way, shape or form."

Fast Shipping in Canada, everything perfect!

"I was scared to be honest after reading so many bad reviews about Breck's (read them after I ordered). So I kept my fingers crossed that I would have a good experience! Luck be with me, then as things all went smoothly!

First of all, I got my receipt for my order right away alonh with a note that I would get a notification when it would ship. I ordered May 2nd, and got shipping confirmation May 4th and today (May 6th) I have planted my bulbs and perennials!

I ordered over $300 worth of perennial shrubs and bulbs and apart from some that will not ship out until late summer, everything I ordered was in perfect condition! All bulbs were very large, fresh with sprouting shoots on them and great healthy, plump roots! The same for the perennials. Excellent condition, no mold or mildew on anything!

That said, I am happy so far, I have my plants in the ground and I'll see how things go from here! Not sure if some of the bad reviews are coming from other countries but I have so far had a good experience! No, not paid for this review, this is my first order, if things turn out well, I will order again! Breck's deserved this good review, as not a single thing was wrong with my order. Perhaps things have improved or things are slightly different here in Canada.

Failed to receive item ordered and paid for

"I placed an order for a Christmas gift on Dec 10 and according to Breck's ad shipments go out daily. Nothing arrived by Dec 27, 17 days after the order. I had to call only to find out the gift is lost in transit. According to Breck's, it was shipped FedEx. Neither Breck's nor FedEx can find it using the tracking number. This shows the quality of the operating system and practices of both.

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE!

"I never take the time to write a review, but given my experience with them this holiday season I want to make sure others avoid buying from this company altogether! I placed three different orders in early November 2021. The first order arrived fine. Product was smaller than expected, but darling none the less. Second product - prelit potted spruce tree was a gift for my daughter and 2/3rds of the lights were not working. I asked Brecks to send a new one, but they were out of stock. Third product/order was a cardinal bell and weeks after I placed the order and only after I reached out to get a tracking number did Brecks inform me the item was no longer in stock. Ridiculous!!! I hope this business goes out of business given their lack of customer service, inventory management and short response time."

Don't trust them

"I ordered an e-gift certificate for my daughter on October 19th and as of today, November 3rd, it has not yet arrived. They first time I called (in the Philippines) they told me that it would take 7-10 days to arrive. An email? The second time I called they said they would send my file to another department to expedite it. I called today and they said that it would arrive between November 4th and 9th. An email? I told them I wanted my money back and they said they would make a note in my file and send it to another department. I asked if I could speak to the manager and she said the manager was not in house. DO NOT USE THEM!!"

They said my order shipped....

"Got an email saying that my order shipped on 9/11. Looked on their website to verify and it gave me a tracking number. I called today and they say it's BACKORDERED! NO where does it say that it's back ordered! And when you ask for a supervisor they are busy - yeah right! Pay for something back in May and they never ship. SCAMMED! SCAMMED SCAMMED!"

3-month Mother’s Day bulb

"I received the Mother’s Day package. May, June and July mixed bulbs. May’s bulbs were sprouted and dead, June, same thing. July showed up dead as well. This was a gift from a 97 yr old lady, whom I wouldn’t dare tell how awful they were. I did however contact the company and requested that she be refunded. A $200 thank you gift from a friend gone bad. They did credit her card, but I didn’t tell her why. Her card said: Thanks for your love, kindness and concern. "

misleading and a joke on me

"I ordered plants and for what I got was dried up seedlings in a tiny plastic bag, I payed as much as 20 to 30 dollars for the plants and before I got them I ordered 2 baby breath plants and they were dead also I had already payed 70 some dollars for the first ones, I am glad I didn't pay for them and will not, but I am by far not ahead and I do not want anymore of there crap.

They should be closed down and something done about them robbing people' they got your money they don't want the dried up plants back,

HIGHWAY ROBBERY! UN-RELIABLE, DEAD ROOTS AND GARBAGE

"We purchased over $200 of roots and plants in the spring of 2021. It took 7 weeks to arrive. The minute I saw the items I knew I got jibbed. Planted as per instructions but after 6 weeks nothing there. I thought had a GREEN THUMB. Well, not with Breck.

I Called them and they requested photos of planted areas. WTF. After 3 tries no response from them.
It seems that this outfit is run by the same people from other countries.

Don't Waste your Time or Money

"I placed an order for $110 worth of products in late January -- 2 types of dahlias (2 per pack@$25); a phlox ($20), bee balm (3 plants per pack@ $15) and Lillies (3 bull for $20). The package arrived in mid- May -- late for the BC growing season. The dahlias were all broken with 1-3 tubers per crown. Most Ubers were broken off. The phlox was a tiny dead-looking stem in a small pea moss pot -- hard to find in the large bag of peat moss -- and after ~5 weeks in ground no sign of a sprout. The be a balm was similar -- dead looking stems with one decent sized root and two very tiny roots. They also have not sprouted. The lily bulbs were the only item in decent condition. Breck's refunded the dahlia bulbs but are radio-silent on the rest of the order. Save yourself the time and money and go to your local nursery -- plants are same price or cheaper and are real plants, not dead stems."
