How I Was Lied To Numerous Times

"I placed a order April 23 2019 and was told that it would be shipped April 29 2019. Two weeks in, it never came. I called back and was told that it was scheduled to ship the middle of May. Then she said that she would put a rush on the order. Again it never came. Today is May 23 2019 and I called AGAIN. This time a young lady told me that the order is scheduled to go out May 28, 2019. All of this has made me extremely frustrated!!!! They have lied to me each time!!!! So far I feel the company is not Trustworthy nor reliable. Who knows I might not get the order till next year even if then. The planting season will be over by the time I receive the order.....I'm Just Saying."

Rotten customer service

"Rec’d a shipment of 3 plants- did not order - called the day I recd - asked them to send me a copy of the order - said they would email a copy - said it was a mail order. Instead I recd an invoice - emailed again called again -now said they could not send a copy - said I wanted to return shipment- told to keep shipment they did not want back and they would “zero out invoice”. Then recd an invoice, again called , again told do not return no money owed. And again get another invoice - wrote on it above info and returned to Breck’s. Another invoice- found another email address ****@**** emailed the story- recd reply after two follow ups - standard reply “ we checked and you owe $33.00 etc. never answered my questions - emailed again asking “Grace” to forward to supervisor - give me her name and number - that was 5 days ago no reply yet- recd phone mail to call Donna - called Donna but person answering in credit dept did not know who Donna was, supv did not know who Donna was - transferred to customer service Matt who tried to be helpful - forward all info to those in charge ??? And they were to call me back - but as you can guess NO RETURN CALL! Been lied to by two customer service reps, can’t get any answer if they note the account when one calls - What do I do???? I have wasted so much time on this - they do not listen and apparently cannot read or comprehend questions asked. Help."

Worst Customer Service

"On April 12, 20019, I ordered many spring bulbs. The order still isn't here on May 4. One plant I ordered was available for immediate shipment. Oops! They changed their minds and won't even ask if I want a replacement. I wrote to their customer service at least five times with no response until this week to ask if I wanted to cancel the order! I did the tracking on it, and it still isn't available. i suppose they want to charge me and send it next year! UGH!"

Breck's Does Not Stand Behind its Plants and Does Not Respond to Complaints

"I loved the photo of the Lavender Beauty Mixed Bulbs and was going to order several as gifts. I decided to order one for myself first, to make sure the quality would be what I wanted for the gifts. Thank goodness I did! I wish there were a way to post photos -- you wouldn't believe the difference between the lovely photos on Breck's website and the very ugly assortment of bulbs that I received. The bulbs cost $49.95 but I wouldn't have paid $5.00 for what was sent to me. And, worst of all, when I submitted a bad review and then sent an email to Customer Service about how bad my bulbs looked, Breck's never responded but immediately noted the bulbs as "Out of Stock". NEVER AGAIN will I order anything from Breck's. "

Scam

"Last year ordered and prepaid $150 worth of items to be shipped in fall. Order never arrived, and had to contact Brecks for refund. This year again preordered, and prepaid, in spring for fall delivery. Contacted Brecks in October about when I should expect delivery. Seems item that was ordered in early spring is out of stock and backordered. I could expect delivery maybe at end of month or early November- when ground is frozen???? Again had to request refund. Seems Brecks wants your money to use for months and then never delivers. Interest free loans to them. I cancelled catalogs and hope to not get any more. Terrible company."

Saddest Shipment EVER!!

"Ordered 4 reblooming iris this spring 2018. Just received my shipment. They are small size, and totally dried out with brown dying leaves, roots that appear to be dead. I have placed them in a container wit a small amount of water covering the roots to try and revive these sad babies. Iris are hardy and want to live so I’m hoping I can revive these sad babies. In the meanwhile I am writing the company to request a refund. "

Waste of time. Received weeds.

"I ordered off their website. 10 different plants early spring and received box of bulbs mid May. I immediately planted it according to instructions and waited for my beautiful front yard to emerge. The only things that showed up were Irises and some strange looking, fast growing plant that overtook my front yard. It looked like giant bean stalk that produced little yellow flowers that never bloomed but turned into seed pods. I took the pictures, went to my local garden center and they told me that those were weeds. I called Brecks and complained, they refunded me for everything except Irises, but I am mad and disappointed. I put so much work and love into it, only to have to dig these giant weed plants out, buy new plants and start all over again. Extremely unreliable company. "

Terrible results, slow growing

"I ordered several bulbs for Spring planting. We live in an area that we can plant early or year round. They sent very late for our season, and then the bulbs took a minimum of 6 weeks to sprout once planted. Of 10 bulbs planted, I have 1 that looks healthy and even at that I am not sure I will have any flowers this year. Extremely disappointed and will stick with the local nurseries in the future. The results are nothing like their pictures."

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING!

"I ordered the SUNNY GAILLARDIA COLLECTION in April. On June 1st I received an email stating that my order had shipped, with a FedEx tracking #. Over the next week I checked the tracking to find that it still said "Shipping information sent to FedEx." I sent TWO emails to the ****@**** and received no reply. I finally called on the 12th and "Trevor" with a thick East Indian accent gave me the standard "sorry. It is coming" story. I received the "order" today. First of all I DID NOT receive the collection X 4. About 6 plants are missing. Second, some are in pots and but majority just have the soil and roots wrapped in heavy plastic. Third, all plants are DEAD! I will NEVER order anything from them again. They have horrible service, they basically false advertise, they do not send their product out in a timely manner , the products are not all in pots as advertised and, oh yes, they have fedex transfer the order to USPS before you receive a box of soil and dead plants."

Will not answer emails.

"I ordered a set of 5 roses, all died. I have emailed numerous times and only gotten automated reply no answer. At least it was a sale and I didn't lose too much but i shouldn't be happy about that, I should have gotten my money back or replacement roses. No customer service...no more money of mine. "

"On 3/1/18 placed an order for 24 roses and paid Brecks in full same day. After placing 20+ calls I received 8 on 5/12/18, still missing 16!! HORRIBLE service and you talk with someone on the other side other side of the world. They all blame each other and the '3rd party grower in California, who they can only contact via email"???? Someone needs to sue this company . If we could only get in touch with someome in corporate?!? "

First and Last Time Ordering From Breck's

"My experience is the same as all others giving 1 star ratings. Breck's took my order and money (over $200) for items some of which I was notified later as being out of stock (though at the time of ordering, these items were noted as being "in stock"). Received only partial shipments and today received a substitution for a particular Hellebore plant I wanted...I didn't want a substitution...would rather have my money back.

Found one miniscule Hellebore root about 1" long x 3/8"w amongst the shipping medium it came in. It also looks to be rotted and probably will never grow. Will start the process contacting them tomorrow to get my money back for this horrible specimen of a "plant". Unfortunately, from the reviews of others, I may never see a refund from this shady company. Will never order from them again!!!!
