"Ordered a Sharp Aquos 65" LCD on Monday 5/12/08. Processed by Wednesday 5/14/08 and obtained shipment on 5/15/08. Excellent service. Very Satisfied."
"I ordered Canon SD1100 with 2 days shipping then when I was called to confirm the order, they offered me to add a 3 years warranty with which the 2 day shipping came free.
But somehow they created another one instead of changing the previous one so ;
I was told I ordered both of them on web (I dont see the second order in my account info )
For the second order I was charged a week later.
When I tried to send the item back they wanted restocking fee. After I wrote e-mail I called them again and this time i was not asked for a restocking fee but I had to pay for the shipping cost which was 8 usd..
I got my refund a month later but 20 USD is missing.
Butterflyphoto adventure caused me 28 USD..
Dont deal with them because no matter what they do is YOUR FAULT.
-----------------------------
Butterflyphoto gave my 20 USD back.

"I ordered a camera from Butterfly Photo from the internet which advertised quick (two days) and free shipping. After a few days, I received a phone call from one of their salesmen that said if I didn't purchase something else, I wouldn't get my camera for at least a week. He wanted me to buy a camera bag and another camera item specifically made for the camera I ordered. I was not interested and told him so. Then I received an E-mail from Butterfly Photo, called: DOD Marketing, Inc. that stated my item had been shipped. I checked the FED Ex tracking number and it was suppose to arrive within days like it was advertised. Not the longer delay the salemen stated to me.
The camera never arrived. I checked the Fed Ex tracking number again and saw it said delivered? Then it changed to say it was being returned? I called Butterfly photo and the Customer Service gal said she could see it was being returned and ignored me when I told her it was never delivered. She said she wouldn't refund my credit card purchase until it arrived. It did but I didn't get a refund. This went on for weeks until they finally refunded part of my order amount. They kept some of it saying it was a restocking fee.
How can anyone be charged a restocking fee on an item they never had? I called Butterfly which stated it was open until 7:00 PM but got no answer. I tried again the next day and see that was changed to 4:00 PM.
I E-mailed them and they said they would not refund my money unless I purchased the same camera again.
Clearly, this is a company that preys on good people. They are not reasonable and have not tried to fix what they broke.
I called Fed Ex and asked them why didn't they deliver my package. I also asked them to tell me my address and why there is no signature for my tracking number? A signature is required for a two day delivery. They confessed that they didn't have my full address and they couldn't deliver it. They continually appoligised and told me Butterfly Photo was contacted after they found out they couldn't deliver my package. Butterfly photo didn't respond to Fed Ex for the five days. That is why they returned it to Butterfly Photo.
Butterfly Photo has my correct address. Don't ever let a vendor tell you otherwise after you make a credit card order. If they don't have your correct address, they will not process the order.
Butterfly Photo had my correct shipping address but wouldn't give it to Fed Ex and they charged me for it.
Stay away from this dishonest company. Beware of Internet theives!"
"After reading a ton of mixed reviews about this place I decided to give them a chance. Before i ordered, I went to ritzcamera and asked them to price match Butterfly Photo. They did with no questions asked. (Since they did the price match I could only assume that they must be a real computer or a place like Ritz camera wouldn't of done it.
I was looking at the Sony A350k Camera with 18 - 70 lens. Everyone else sold it for 899.99 + Shipping, Butterfly had it for 788.00 with free shipping. The is a big difference and made me feel like maybe its a scam. I put my fears aside and ordered the camera and i got a filter kit (witch the price was a little on the high side but still way less then any other place) Both ordered shipped out FedEx today. I haven't received them yet, but I did call and spoke to Sales to confirm the orders, he didn't try to upset, he did ask if i needed anything else, i said no and he said this will ship later today.
So far I am 200% happy with them and I would go back again and I will when its time to get something else for a good deal.
Thanks Butterflyphoto!"
"After researching TV/DVD combos, I decided on a Toshiba 26LV47, and Butterfly Photo had the best price. I was a little concerned after reading the customer ratings, but the TV arrived as promised, via 2-day FedEx. I did call to verify they received the order, and they assured me it was in-process and be would delivered in a couple days. No shipping or tax, painless transaction. "
"Well, I have to admit butterflyphoto did a great job delivering my Canon HF-10. The price was by far the cheapest. The site was not so great but the product arrived 7 days after ordering and in perfect condition. After placing my order I logged onto resellerratings and I read all the bad reviews about butterflyphoto. I called them up the day after I placed my order and after being transferred to 5 different people they told me they did not have my order in their system and that I needed an order number before they could do anything including canceling my order. I waited it out and the next day I get an email saying that my order is being processed. About 4 days after placing the order, I was emailed telling me to call them up because I “qualified” for some special coupons. They obviously were trying to sell some warranty and wide angle lens. I declined and the salesperson was not pushy and the call took about 30 secs. I’m not sure if I needed to call them but I did anyway. The product arrived 3 days later via DHL and required a signature. The product was entirely new and in perfect condition. So overall, I got a perfect product at the cheapest price and it arrived 7 days after placing the order. I just don’t think they offer any customer service and I would hate to think about what would happen if I wanted to return something."
"I purchased a Samsung LN32A450 LCD HDTV from this merchant. Here is my review of the interaction I had with them.
I wanted to upgrade my old 19" TV and wanted something for the bedroom that would fit in an armoir. 32" was the max size that would fit, even though I think I would have been happier with a 37" or 40", although it would have had to mount on the wall. But for bedroom viewing from 8 feet away, it is fine.
After reading some reviews at Cnet, it seems the LN32A450, new now for 2008, is a real solid contender for top of it's class in the 32" LCD screen size. I now had the model I was after, now to find the best price. The local stores either didn't have it, or were already marking it up over internet based sites due to the 'overhead' of having a store front with multiple employees. Plus, I'd have to pay tax, which would up the price even more. Since this TV was only a 32", I didn't think it would be difficult to ship it for pretty cheap, so onto the world wide web I went to search.
While there were some possible deals on ebay I didn't want to trust ~$700 to just anyone. You never know what you'll get - some people say they just opened the box to look at it, and then they are selling it. Why? Are there 100 dead pixels? Did they drop it on the way home? Some people have a perfectly fine TV, but then cut corners shipping it, and it's damaged in the process. No, I wanted to buy from a reputable merchant at the best possible price.
Pricegrabber.com showed butterfly photo had the lowest price at $710 with no tax and free ground shipping. I placed the order online with them in the morning on Monday.
The following morning their web site still showed the status as 'awaiting authorization'. I called the customer service number to clarify the situation. She told me that orders are held for 24-48 hours by the credit protection department to verify information, etc, which was to protect me as well as them.
I was quite skeptical - after all, most other companies that want to verify credit information can do it instantaneously in this digital age. And if they wanted to verify if it was in fact me that placed the order, why hadn't I received an email or a phone call yet? I asked when the TV would be delivered, and I was told that after the 24-48 hours (which seems more like 48 in all cases) the item would ship, and based on shipping method (free ground shipping) and my location (upstate NY) shipping from them in NJ to me would take 2-3 business days. Translation: place order on Monday, credit authorization completes Wednesday, item ships by Thursday, I should have it by next Wednesday at the latest! Yikes, that seems slow. Of course it could come earlier.
The next day, Wednesday, I saw that the price on the HDTV went down to $705 on their web site. My order still showed 'awaiting authorization'. I called up the customer service and asked if I would be given Monday's $710 rate, or Wednesday's $705 rate? I was told Monday's rate. Since my order had not yet shipped, I wanted to know what I would need to do to get Wednesday's rate of $705. I was transfered to speak to Jim, in sales.
Jim first seemed irritated that I would argue for a $5 price drop. He then tried telling me that prices go up and down all the time. I have heard of prices falling in competition, but not so much in going up again. I told him that I was only interested in the lowest possible price for that model, and his site had it, and now it was even lower.
He told me the only way I could get the rate of $705 would be to cancel my order and place a new one, but the caveat would be I'd have to wait another 24-48 hours for credit authorization. I told him that was ridiculous, and I didn't want to wait. He seemed pretty inflexible, until I mentioned that the service of their site would be detailed in my review of their website. He then offered to cancel my old order for me, and place a new order that day, upgrading me to FedEx 2nd day air for free. He told me it would arrive in the same amount of time as the order I placed Monday.
Sure enough, the TV was delivered on Friday by FedEx. The box was factory sealed, it was new and not a product switch or a refurb. It did not appear damaged, and aside from a loose screw that fell out of the HDTV from somewhere inside (I blame QC at Samsung, not Butterfly photo) it was in excellent shape. No dead pixels, and everything worked out of the box.
I told Jim I'd write a good recommendation of their site, so here it is. I wasn't pushed any 'upgrades'. I was given a fair price - the best on the web. I was also upgraded to 2nd day air. I believe that in all it was a very good interaction, and I would shop here again.
I have read other reviews of butterfly photo, and I think that some of the older ones are more negative than the more recent ones. I think they are trying to turn around their image. "
"Called to purchase a camera. The first guy I talked to offered me $5 for second day Fedex shipping, I declined the expedited shipping and he then transferred me to another rep. She transferred me to another rep who transferred me to another rep who transferred me to another rep.
So the fifth person I spoke with tried to sell me a memory card, I declined. He then tried to sell me an extra battery, I declined. Finally he tried to sell me the expedited shipping for $10... He said that if I did not choose the expedited shipping my item would be sent parcel post. He then said that it would be sent Fedex or Parcel Post and it was up to their discretion. He also said that if I paid for the 2nd day shipping it would be shipped the following day, if not it would be shipped out 3 days later. I was in no hurry so I said free shipping would be fine.
Turns out it was shipped out the next day using Fedex 2nd day shipping at no extra cost. Item looks good and I received it quickly. It looks like they use Fedex 2nd day shipping and just try to milk you for as much money as they can."
"I Bought a Sony Bravia 32xbr6 at a great price from ButterflyPhoto.com on Friday May 9, 2008. The agent was very helpful and answered all my questions. They did not contact me after placing order nor did I need to contact them. Received an email confirmation and tracking number that day. Package was shipped the next day and I received item on Tuesday as expected. I love my tv and will buy from them again."
"Although I was leery, with by far the lowest $$ on the web, took a chance and ordered a Canon Powershot TX1 from Butterfly on Apr 17; paid with PayPal. Got confirmation/copy of invoice to email right away; no 'call us to confirm' type stuff, nor phone calls. In fact, no other contact at all. Order tracking on their site finally showed that they shipped 2-day fedex on the 24th and just got it about noon Monday Apr 28(site had warned Passover would 'delay' orders). Factory-fresh with North America packaging and literature, all accessories included; $263.90, no shipping nor tax. Shipping box was a little dodgy, camera box was unprotected at bottom of shipping box with air packs piled on top. I think these guys are trying to go legit after some murky beginnings. Otherwise no complaints...what a beauty! Old-school Japan quality. Let's start shooting!"
"Wasn't familiar with Butterfly Photo, but they looked legit. Made my order with them because they offered free second day shipping and other stores did not. After four days, I had heard nothing about my item shipping so I called. They said their website and order system were in error, I had to pay for second day shipping. They would not honor their commitment to me. So, I cancelled the order and went elsewhere. I'll never shop there again, and I won't recommend them to you. "
"Awesome Service. Had an issue with a card limit and they were more than happy to take care of the problem the same day. They even upgraded my shipping to next day air from expedited for free! Ordered my new Canon HF 100 camcorder on a Friday and recieved on a Tuesday. Extremely pleased."
"At ButterFly Photo they fortunately have at least one person who knows how to say sorry. The sad thing is that it happened after I've posted here my story.
I have bought a TV from butterflyphoto, the product was ok and it was shipped quite fast. A few weeks later I got an email from my former boss informing me about the crime I committed using the company credit card to by a new TV. WHAT! I moved to other city several months ago, I do not know the company credit cards number and to prove I didn't do anything wrong there was my home address as a billing address on the invoice so butterflyphoto couldn't charge other card. BUT THEY DID. I have no idea what kind of a mess they have at butterflyphoto but it looks like they used information from years ago when I was doing purchasing for my former company. I called them, they fixed everything telling me that it's all my fault and I shouldn't use credit cards that are not mine. WHAT! I DID NOT DO THAT. But it is not the end of the story. It looks like they have now even bigger mess then before. A few months later (today) I found out on my credit card statement that they've just charged me ones again for the same TV. I called them and they said again that it is my fault that they charged the credit card which didn't belong to me so now they are fixing it. I have already paid for that stupid TV. In March. Now we have April. "
" The camcorder that I ordered arrived today, just 2 days after I ordered it from the other side of the country using just the free shipping offer. Everything is there and it looks good.
I must say that I really could not be more pleased with the way the transaction went. I called them at 6:30 in the morning (here on the west coast, 9:30 in New Jersey where Butterfly is located) on the 14th. No waiting on hold. I ordered the HV30 and he made a few friendly suggestions for accessories, but no pressure at all. Within 2 or 3 minutes after the call ended, I had an order confirmation in my email, and when I checked again 2 hours later, I had a notification that it had been shipped and as well as a Fedex tracking number.
Anyway, I am very happy with the way things went and will be ordering from them again when I need something. "
"im satisfied now! after going through some trouble to get what i was asking for...after leaving a bad review here i got a call next morning...consulting the review...it appears that since i left a bad review...i finally got what i was asking for...a simple price difference! i would most likely buy from them again if what im looking for is available for a cheaper price at butterflyphoto.com
