I am a respected E-Bay seller and a Computer Technician. So I buy a lot of hardware online. Even the cheapest, worst of the worst don't compare to this. I ordered a wireless mouse and portable mini speaker system for my iPod. Somehow the order duplicated!? I automatically canceled the duplicate order and notified them that I have done this. AS A RESULT THEY CANCELED MOUSE ORDER AND SHIPPED ME 2 SPEAKER SYSTEMS??!!!
I called and explained the problem, the manager bearly speaks English!!!
I had to e-mail them 50 times before I could get a number to contact them!!!

I purchased an item by using a gift certificate and paid the rest from my credit card. They supposedly shipped the item, but I never received it. I claimed lost shipment, they denied the claim. I asked for my confirmation of delivery, they then approved the claim! I did not get my money for 1.5 months. Turns out, they never charged me, even though they claim that they shipped the item! So, I asked for a refund of my gift certificate, they now charged my credit card for the FULL amount (NOT the full amount minus the gift certificate amount!). I was asking for my money back, not for them to take more of it from me!?! After two months of back and forth, countless hours on the phone with India, and typing e-mails, I had enough of it, and found their corporate office number and talked directly to their CFO! They called me back within minutes form the corporate office. And I received a confirmation e-mail within hours that I will be getting my money back. I finally received the refund to my credit card, but still nothing about my gift certificate refund, even after sending 3 more e-mails. It has been almost 2.5 months. What if this was a really expensive item? What if I needed the item urgently? What more should I do to get my money back? Call their CEO? Maybe I will...
I have been a loyal customer of this company for years. I even hold their VISA card! But I have to say STAY AWAY from this company, until they fix their horrible, terrible customer support."

"The worst case of "outsourcing" customer service to India I have encountered to date. They truly do not understand your issues or problems. English as a second language syndrome! Email resolutions of your problems are a waste of your time. You must call them once you have found the obscure customer service phone number. Then they rush to get you off the phone.

"I ordered a Motorola md7091 cordless phone that is advertised to come with two cordless handsets. However, it was shipped to me with only one cordless handset. buy.com does sell these cordless handsets separately, and after a phone call to customer service and talking to a supervisor he promised to send me the missing handset. Three days later I receive an email where they a) claim not to have missing parts, b) go talk to the manufacturer directly and c) if I really wanted I could RMA the phone and the one cordless handset I did receive. Obviously that wasn't as promised at all. I do not want to RMA what I do have, since it works just fine.
Follow up email from me has not resulted in buy.com changing their minds.

"Let this be a WARNING, these people don't follow their own polities. As stated on their site, "We process your order after we receive your money order or cashier's check." I sent a cashier's check at the extra expense of said check plus one day mail service and their first reply was it was a COMPANY check and now they have changed their tune to, "Unfortunately this is a necessity of accepting these types of payment forms because an individual may stop payment on a check even if it is a money order or cashiers check up to 10 days from the date the check was drawn. I understand that the funds have been removed from your account already due to the fact that you paid by cashiers check, however Buy.com must still hold thes check for the full 10 days before the products gets shipped." They seem to follow their policy when it suits them, checked with the bank and funds were drawn by them the 10 and here it is the 18th and order is "on order" which according to them means, "We are making every effort to ship your product to you as soon as possible. Unless your item is on pre-order, our supplier has not given us an expected arrival date," it was not a pre-order. Looks like we'll be going to court."
"APPALLING customer service!! Ordered 2 items, received 1 item that was totally incorrect (not related at all to what I ordered). After multiple emails (there's no customer service phone number on their web site) I finally got an RMA. Sent back the incorrect item, heard nothing. Finally got them to email me a customer service phone number ***-***-****). Several calls later, they agreed to send me the correct item free of charge. I logged into my account, looked at the replacement order, and it was for the WRONG ITEM!! So I call them back, they cancel that order, promise to escalate the issue. I hear nothing for over 2 weeks. I call back, they tell me that they CAN'T enter another replacement order to ship me the correct product, despite the fact that everything has been their screwup. I demand to speak to a supervisor, she gives me the same story. So I settle for a gift certificate for the price of the item I've wanted all along, which I will apply to a new order for the same item (and cross my fingers). Total elapsed time: 8 weeks. Total number of communications to customer service: 6 emails, 3 phone calls."
