"I purchased a Garmin 201 Forerunner and received defective merchandise. The customer service department was extremely insensitive and very difficult to work with. I wanted a refund of my shipping costs which they refused and seemed not at all concerned about my satisfaction, but just kept quoting company policy. Very impersonal. I'll never patronize their store again."

"I bought from buy.com because the website said the item was "in stock" and would ship in "3-5 days." The order showed up almost immediately on their website as "Sent to warehouse", which was nice. One week later, I still hadn't gotten a confirmation email, the status hadn't changed, and the item was no longer listed on their website. I sent them an email to find out whether my order would be filled, and basically, they said no. It was nice that they got back to me the day that I emailed them, but they should have let me know earlier that it was out of stock. I have the feeling that if I hadn't emailed them, I never would have heard from them. I won't buy from them again."

"Purchased several CD's from Buy.com. Process was easy but when the package arrived, the CD jewel cases and some of the inserts were damaged due to poor/flimsy packaging. One tiny and very thin cardboard "box" with no padding at all surrounded the cd's. The ends were not taped but tucked like a deck of cards. Anyone could have opened and closed the box and no one could tell it had been accessed. When I tried to return the damaged goods, Buy.com's site would not let me claim they were damaged unless I indicated they were open. I had not opened them as I did not want to be accused of inflicting the damage on my end. Hence, I had to play email tag until I finally got the phone number to call. At that point, the rep kept asking me if the cd's were okay and "that's what really matters isn't it?" He also suggested that if I really wanted jewel cases, I could purchase those separately. Amazing! I PAID for the CD's and their packaging. They were damaged due to improper packaging by Buy.com. Why should I have to buy separate jewel cases?? Ridiculous. He also suggested a CD sleeve but these tend to scratch CD's in time and I don't like that solution and store all my cd's in their respective cases.

In the end, they finally agreed to a return and reship but I requested MUCH better boxing/packaging. We'll see how that turns out but this is a poor example of customer service. 2 hours of my time arguing with a customer service rep about a problem THEY created. Shoddy and likely my last buy from Buy.com.

Frankly, I think customers need to fight back when they are faced with this sort of treatment. Enough reviews like this and perhaps they'll start to feel the pinch in business and get back to providing a quality buying experience.

"Buy.com is the worst internet company on the PLANET--BAR NONE!!! First, I received a confirmation email telling me my order was received and product shipped. The next day I get a new email telling me that they cancelled the order and that I would not be charged for it, WITH NO EXPLANATION WHY!! I called their CSR dept. after a half hour of searching for the tool-free # only to find that they cheaped out and outsourced their CSR dept to India or Bangladesh or Thailand, where no one understands English and can't help you at all. The bottom line is, I got nowhere with their so-called customer service people and had to put my Visa card in dispute to resolve the issue, AFTER I learned that they billed my Visa card TWICE for a single purchased item and never issued any credits!! DON'T EVER DEAL WITH BUY.COM OR YOU WILL BE VERY VERY SORRY!! THEY ARE TERRIBLE!!!"

"Bought an external hard drive and within a week they had dropped the price $60. When I asked for credit on the order because of their Low Price Guarantee, they said they couldn't do that because they had shipped it for free. "My first experience with buy.com will be my last. I ordered an mp3 player that I never received. I chose the free option as they had it. FedEx "delivered" the shipment, leaving it on the "front door". buy.com site did not mentioned that the free shipping option did not require signature. What is more, I live in an apartment building, and leaving it at the "front door" means leaving it on the street.

I would recommend that You think twice before choosing buy.com. There are other stores that offer competitive prices and you get what you ordered.

"Hands down the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. They could care less about me and my lost shipment. The only thing their customer service cares about is covering their own butts. I ordered over $300 in equipment that I have never received. Their final solution was a $10 gift certificate. That hardly replaces the $327 they stole from me. The UPS tracking info shows the package as delivered and signed for but I have no idea where they delivered it or who signed for it. I reported this immediately to buy.com and they didn't care. UPS was no help, they state that buy.com has to report the shipment as lost and buy.com refused to do so. Instead they sent me this stupid $10 gift certificate that I will never use. I will however seek as many store rating websites as I can and warn everyone who will listen to never buy anything from buy.com or if you do, Lord help you if anything should go wrong with you order because buy.com won't."

"This company stated on their web site that there was a $100 rebate. They had a place to get the form. I submitted the form and after 60 days I checked and was told that I had to buy the printer from mfg to get the rebate. You are unable to contact them by phone to complain. This reseller is nothing more than a theif. They lie and when it is too late there is nothing they will do and you can't even talk to them. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM."
