"the website shows that its in stock so i ordered with next day shipping. website still shows the item is in stock. website says order has been sent to warehouse. i call to verify status of order. im told its processing and that there will be a delay on the $2500 notebook and that the other items will ship in a day or two. i think buy.com is worthless.
i may change this review to favorable if the issue is rectified. as for now, i discourage anyone from doing business with buy.com

i am happy to say that i recieved the balance of my order after speaking with the less than helpful customer service. my account was charged correctly and the items recieved were in good working condition. however, i will not do business with buy.com again. as far as i know their website still says the item is in stock.
as soon as the money was credited back to my account. i ordered from newegg and had it the next day. same day processing, next day shipping. stick with newegg, stay on the safe side."

"Worst experience ever with an online retailer. Incomplete and late shipment heralded receiving an incorrect item (Lego Star Wars). I've sent it back twice, and each time they sent me the wrong item. Then I sent it back for a refund. I was just notified that they are sending me the wrong item again instead of sending me the refund. Each time I have spoken with very nice customer service people in India who tell me that they have accurate records of my requests, and they are very sorry by they can't guarantee that the company will actually perform as they promise. IOW, instead of the refund I was promised, I will probably receive the product in the mail.
Life is too short to deal with this company ever again. "
"I've bought from Buy.com in the past and never had a problem. This time that I bought, they decided that they wanted my signature for the shipment. Never asked me for it before. Of course i'm not at home to sign for it. Delayed the shipment by a day because of this. I happen to catch the Fedex guy the next day. They should inform us customers if a signature is required, so we can ship it to another address or something. They have great prices, but just will be careful when I buy from them next time. "

I've made a few purchases from Buy.com and so far I've had nothing but good experiences. My only complaints are their limiting of coupons to new customers only, which doesn't do much to attract returning customers, and their packaging, though adecquate, could use a little work. I usually just receive my items in a box with some brown paper shoved in to keep em from sliding around, but peanuts would be more ideal."

"I have been ordering for this company for about four years now. The last time I ordered, and this will be the last time, they charged my Paypal account as I had agreed to. I then needed to cancel this order, but they had already charged my Payapl account. They have not shipped the item. Now they will not give me a refund, they claim my Paypal did not transfer the funds to them, BUT IT HAS.

I have been using Buy.com for a few years. I don’t buy a lot, some books, a printer, etc. and I can not say that I have had a bad experience, until now.
On 1-18-06 I ordered a mouse. The order showed up as “Sent to warehouse” at their “Order status page” within a few minutes. Very good. Eight days latter it still showed “Sent to warehouse”, I sent a customer service request for a status on the order. I received an automated reply that they received my request and it had been elevated and someone would email me in a day or two with a resolution. All right. On the 26th I sent an email confirming that I wanted a status as soon as possible. Another automated reply came that “it has been elevated and that I would get an email in a few days”. On the 28th I sent an email requesting a phone no. (the only way to get the customer support number is with an email). I received the number in another reply that repeated the “it’s been elevated, you will be contacted” mantra. I called. I was impressed with the 4 minute wait. I explained my request for information. He immediately found my file and explained to me that “it has been elevated and that I would get an email in a few days”, a request to speak to a supervisor got me a repeat. As of the 30th (it had been 13 days in “The warehouse”) I had still heard nothing. I got on line and canceled the order. I received the email with the “it has been elevated and that I would get an email in a few days” included. I called to see if I could confirm that the request to cancel the order had been received. Now the story is “it will take 7-10 working days to cancel the order. On 2-1-06 I received an email from “corporate”, it was good news, they had received my original request for information and “it was under consideration and that I would get an email in a few days”. I found the item at another on line vendor for 2 dollars cheaper and 97 hours later, UPS ground, it was in my hands.
“BUY.COM” has simply the worst excuse for customer service that I think I have ever experienced and I purchase thousands of dollars worth of equipment a week. I am trying now to get my account removed from their system, right, and I will never come back. Today 2-2-06 (15 days) I have still heard nothing. I posted a warning on the bulletin board at work and I have had the “Buy.com” website blocked on our server. Maybe at least I can save someone else from this experience."
"Ordered two Netgear XE-102 Powerline Ethernet Adapters. Buy.com only shipped one adapter. I was able to return that adapter and get a credit. All efforts to get a resolution on unshipped adapter have been unsuccessful. Buy.com is little more than a thief in my opinion."

"I have placed a total of ten orders with Buy.com over the past 2 years. Every single order experience has been perfect. I always select the lowest-cost shipping option, and their delivery times continue to astound me. My last order was placed on Thursday, Jan 26, around 1:00am and was delivered by 6:00pm the next day. This was with free shipping from CA to OK with an 18-lb item. Anyway, I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with Buy.com and they continue to be one of my favorite online retailers. Their prices are often unbeatable (on certain items), and that's when I tend to use them, knowing that my order will be processed very quickly and without problems. I'm not sure why they have such a low ResellerRatings rating, but having ordered $3,000 of items from them in all, I give them a perfect 10 for service and pricing."
