"I have placed four orders with buy.com in June, August, September and October of 2005. All the items were in stock at their Carrollton Texas (DFW area), were shipped the next day and arrived in Houston on the second day, including a couple of the What's Hot promotions. All rebates were processed promptly and could be tracked via a dedicated website. I have never had to contact customer service for any reason. I will continue to buy from this company based on my no hassles experience."
"Very horrible. The worst purchase online I've ever made! I bought 4 items, one of them on backorder. They sent me one email saying that they couldn't cancel it because it is on shipping process. However I never received it. So I asked them if they could credit it back to my account so I could buy somewhere else. They said they could not cancel because it was on the way to my home now. They would not cancel my order, or credit it back to me, or ship it to my house! wtf? If you want to buy something, buy it at newegg. It might be a little more expensive, but it'll save you the time and headaches. I've waited for one cable for over a month now (and about a dozen emails later!)"
"If you are planning on buying from this company call them at ***-***-**** first to check on the stock level. I was trying to buy 5 LCD screens and the website claimed to have all in stock. Well they didn't. Did they contact me to let me know? Of course not. I had to find there mystery number by calling the cellular store support line. It's the only way to get the number from their website. Think twice about a company that doesn't even have there phone number plainly listed on there site. I would strongly recommend shopping elsewhere. There are way too many companies online to be running a business this way. I just hope I can get a refund... "

Well, I buy plenty online, primarily have used NewEgg and ZipZoomFly, and others, but I am so mad over their Customer Service not crediting me my money, I may never shop there again.

"Completely Dissatisfied and not surprised at all. I went against my better judgement and orderd from buy.com. I ignored the warning from friends and looked at the positive ratings on pricegrabber.com (obviously inflated by buy.com).
I ordered a SanDisk M250 and some Koss SparkPlug headphones...both items showed in stock (of course...we've all heard this story). At any rate, the SanDisk is not in stock but the headphones are. I googled "buy.com phone number" and found ***-***-**** which works. There's some others that aren't toll free so I didn't try them.
I got a very unfriendly customer service rep who spends more time verifying who I am than explaining the problem my order has. She rattles off that it's on back order and cant' tell me when it's going to be in stock and asks if there's anything else.....OF COURSE THERE IS!!!
So I say I'm canceling the order, which she says she can do on her end...but then quickly adds that it may be 3 - 5 business days to cancel...and asks if there's anything else....I'm seeing a pattern here.
I ask her to explain why it could possibly take 3 - 5 business days to cancel an order, especially if it's not in stock...she give some dribble that I could barely hear or understand. I ask for a supervisor...she gives me the "they're going to tell you the exact same thing, but if you want to speak to one, please call back after 9 am PST." WTF? I don't need to hear her opinion of what another person is going to tell me...that's just bad service. Maybe I'm going to tell them how great she is! :o/
So she asks if she can be of anymore help, my reply was "I doubt that since you haven't really helped at all."
At any rate...I've canceled the order myself because I don't trust them to do it. I'll still have to wait and see if they can figure out how to cancel an order and then deal with returns and refunds...another nightmare. Way to make it difficult to do business with you buy.com...next time don't try to exceed my expectations...just try to meet them. I will NEVER order from them again. They should fire their managers and train their customer service."
"10 days after I have placed the order I check the status of the order. It said "Sent to warehouse". I cannot imagine what would take over a week to send my simple order of 2 items to their warehouse. They do not have a customer service number I can call, and after I noticed a mistake on the shipping address I had to email them the problem. I have yet to receive a reply, and for all I know the product is going to be shipped to the wrong address.
I cannot seriously consider this company as reliable. "

I must of ordered DOZENS of times and never had a problem which surprises me that so many would have problems. I think that if there is a problem with what you order that it is more likely that Buy.com's customer service is less than desirable. "Have bought from them on previous occasions without incident Price is usually good, and previously quality was too. This time I purchased a Fantom Titanium 250GB USB 2.0 hard drive. Came with defective USB connector on drive. I should have replaced it under warranty through Fantom, but I made the mistake of trying to return/replace through buy.com so I wouldn't have to pay shipping. Well, it took 3 days to get an Email response from customer service and 7 days for UPS ground to get the product back to them. I finally found the cust. svce. phone number and called today asking why they can't just send out a replacement and credit my account when they finally open the package. Their answer to every "reasonable" request I made was "it's not company policy". I really need the product replaced ASAP and they will not expedite their normal processing (14 days) or the return ship method (UPS ground 7 days). I bought this 2/22 and I doubt if I'll have it back by 3/22.....The customer service SUCKS!!!!!!!!! and there is no higher authority."
"Ordered 19" LCD Monitor on March 5th. 2 days later price has dropped by $30. Emailed customer service and asked for a refund of price difference. They refused, saying that since I used a coupon, they won't price match. What kind of lame excuse is that? At least monitor arrived on time and was in perfect condition with no dead pixels. "Awful service, sent me a book with torn cover, asked for replacement, the defected one has been returned and delivered to them by UPS over 19 days ago, and still there is no news from the replacement book. Called their customer service 2 weeks ago, they said it would take up to 2 weeks to process the returns, called them again 15 days after the book was received in their warehouse, they asked me to wait for a few more days, it's been 4 days since then and still no news. I am going to call them today and cancel the order.
Don't be fooled, like me, with their "10% lower than Amazan" scam, you may pay 10% more to Amazon (for California residents, it's actually less than 2% as we also pay tax to buy.com), but you know you are getting very good best service."
