"The order fulfillment part was ok, but I bought two sticks of RAM that were on their "guaranteed compatibility" list for my HP Pavilion. They didn't work. I got an RMA number from the form on their website and returned both sticks of RAM. When they eventually issued the credit it was for only one stick of RAM. When I went looking for any contact information at all, there was none. Not a single phone number or email address (let alone physical address) on the whole damn website. I finally found a form to make comments with and explained my problem. I got email a few days later telling me that they would eventually process the other RAM. I tried replying to the email and it bounced. After two months I've given up on ever seeing my other $26. I won't be buying from Buy.com anymore and I will certainly be checking each online retailer I'm considering buying from to ensure that they have contact information on their website.

"I order a bunch of stuff for business and home from buy.com. I always use "standard" shipping especially if it is free, and even though they claim 14-21 day delivery, it is almost always here the next day, UPS Ground (and I'm in a rural area)! And returns are painless, you just print out the UPS tag, so they even pay the return freight.
And of course, their prices are usually among the lowest.

"This is for Buy.com's subsidiary BuyMusic.com. Their downloads don't work in my computer (which meets all their requirements). They won't help. They won't issue a refund. And, because of the DRM, I can't use a different computer."

I have made several purchase from BUY.COM, the most recent one is a D-Link AirPlus PCI adaptor,free shipping. I ordered it on July 5, received on July 8th, very impressed. I will not hesitate to shop with them if there's some deal available.

"Ordered a D-Link Di-604 router on the 29th. Got free budget shipping using a coupon found @ Fatwallet and qualify for a $10 rebate that willbring the total price to near $20 for a router that runs $50 at places like Best Buy.
Router shipped the day after the order was placed and arrived the next day. Can't expect anything better than that especiallly when the quoted shipping time was 14-21 days for budget shipping.

"Placed order a week ago, and it's still "processing" - which means, according to their site, that it hasn't even been sent to the warehouse to be filled.

Tried to call, but now they're *charging* for customer service over the phone. Send an email, got an auto-reply stating that they'd get back to me in 12 hours - 36 hours ago.

Screw buy.com - shop at deepdiscountdvd.com or anywhere else that knows the value of customer service.

"Purchased a video card and paid for overnight shipping. Card arrived 4 days later. Accidentally ordered the wrong card. Tried calling buy.com but they charge for talking to someone so I tried emailling them. They gave a prompt response within 24 hrs but would not take the card back so now I have a video card I cannot use."

"This is my fifth time ordering with Buy.com. I'm pretty surprised that they have the best price for the memory stick. However, you will need to find the right coupons such as free shipping or some discount. Ordered a Lexar Memory Stick on Wednesday 7/23/03 and arrived at my doorsteps Friday 7/25/03 morning. Excellent experience again."

"THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST COMPANY ON THE INTERNET. I ordered backup drive and payed for next day shipping as they said it was in stock. Happen to check e-mail 3 hours later and they sent me an e-mail saying they needed additional information.
I clicked on the link and it sent me to their website where I had to print this form out, fill out all the information I had just put in their website and make copies of my CREDIT CARD and DRIVERS LICENSE. Then I had to fax it to a long distance phone number on my expense before they would ship the product!!! OUTRAGEOUS! I called their stupid customer service and asked if I could block out my social security number on my drivers license before I faxed the copy. They told me by defacing the copy they would not except. ALERT ALERT!! You cannot use a social security number in that manner to verify a credit card. That piece of paper I was about to fax to them had all of my personal information that could be easily used for identity theft. WHAT THEY WERE ASKING IS AGAINST THE LAW. I demanded to speak to a manager and could never get one. I am reporting them to the states attorney general. I could not believe what I was hearing. For everybody who had to pay to get a customer server representative, I got a ***TOLL FREE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER, YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR!!!!*** 1-***-***-****.

Obviously will never order from again. They don't care about fast shipping. And they are data mining personal information they don't need to send out your order. BEWARE ALL!! Hope this helps.

"I would never purchase from this company again. I tried to purchase a Sony SBV-40S. I entered the information into their search engine and was returned the Sony SBV-40. I had never seen a Sony SBV-40 for sale retail and did not know that it was not the product that I wanted until I received it. I tried to get an RMA, but their website was only showing that my order was "Sent to Warehouse" when it had already been shipped and received. So I had to deal with customer service to get an RMA, there is nobody to talk to unless you want to pay $9.95. They refused to credit me the cost of shipping the item to me, claiming that they shipped the item I ordered even if it was not the item that I wanted and the model number that I requested in their search engine. They claim that they do not even sell the Sony SBV-40S, but I found it in their inventory by clicking on the "Similar items" link. Having never seen the item they shipped in a retail store, only the item I wanted, I just assumed that the website had mislabeld the model number omitting the second "S". One week later they still have not corrected the problem with the search engine, and it still returns the wrong item when you type in the exact model number. So I am out return shipping and the original shipping. Given the poor customer service and the lack of trying to make the purchase right, I would never purchase from buy.com again. I have been purchasing online for 8 years and never had as bad of an experience with an online purchase. I would have been happy if they offered free shipping on the correct item or another purchase, but they offered nothing and have now lost a customer forever. I know they sent me the item that I ordered on their site, but their site did not display the correct item that I submitted to their search engine, so I feel it was their error as well. I feel that I should not have to pay shipping twice in this instance, one way should have been enough. Bye Bye Buy.com!"

"I have made about a dozen purchases from Buy.com over the past about six years. Every purchase was handled perfectly. They have an informative and accurate web site, which includes whether items are in stock. They always keep me up to date by email, and include tracking numbers with shipments. Some of their items offer free shipping (except for a $1.75 handling fee) and rebates, which make for some great deals. Their phone support is not very helpful for product selection, but if you already know what you want to buy this is a great company. I usually check pricewatch.com, but I often buy from Buy.com anyway because they are quick to ship and I've had perfect experience with them in the past."
