"I ordered Sennheiser RS40 headphones from buy.com on 12/13. After I ordered, I found out that the headphones were in backorder and they weren't going to be shipped out immediately, and they didn't have a time on when it becomes available. So I decided to wait a few days to see if I'll get any email confirmation about the headphones being shipped. After waiting for about a week, I got no email about shipping and buy.com still said they were still in backordered, so I cancelled the order. On 12/22, I received the headphones via UPS. Then I found out my credit card was charged. I do not need these headphones now because I had purchased a similar one elsewhere while waiting to hear from buy.com. Now, I need to return this for a refund, what a bunch of hassle. They really should keep their customer's informed about their orders as much as possible."
"Ordered a Rio Nitrus Ultra MP3 player from Buy.com on December 8th. It's now the 21st and still no player. I've emailed them several times and got no reply. It is impossible to contact otherwise. This used to be a company that you could count on for great fast service but not anymore. Maybe they should look at their ratings here. This tells the story. WOW, has Buy.com gone down the toilet. They offer no live support, and the way they do things, you basically can NOT cancel an order. They had a $50 rebate on a digicam they didn't actually ship until after the rebate expired, they had the gall to refuse my cancellation request, and still send the camera over a week later. Now, they don't want to refund shipping.
I'm working with my credit card company to refuse the charge and will NEVER buy from them again. They are a disgusting excuse for a legitimate company.

"Service was steadily "good" up until now. Buy.com has always had difficulty with cancelation of orders previously placed. Beware, in spite of giving 10 days advance cancellation while they were searching for an item, the item was delivered anyway!. The $1,100 item charge to the cc. Took 3 weeks for Buy.com to admit they even shipped this item claiming until then that it had not been shipped. Even when I had item and invoice number in hand. Good luck. "
"Buy.com has really gone down hill fast. They do not reply to emails, and take forever to ship out an item.
I would not have ordered from them if I had read all the negative posts the past 6 months here on resellerratings. They used to be a good company, and even used to send out free gifts to customers at Christmas time as Thank You's.
Now it sounds as if your lucky to get your item. Apparently their telephone number is hidden somewhere, and its toll free, except the catch is you have to pay $10 to speak to someone. That is a scam.
I also submitted a pricematch with buy.com to an amazon.com price. They didn't even reply to my pricematch (which was a completely legitimate pricematch, as I read and followed their rules). So basically their "pricematch" guarantee is also a lie.
I did receive my package, however I won't know if I'm keeping it until after Christmas. Wouldn't that just be a nightmare if I had to send it back.
I've learned over the years, the best way to judge a good company, is by how quickly they reply to you, and how easy they are to contact."

"Placed an order for a DVD player. Although the item was shown in stock and ships in 1-2 days, five days later the status was shown to "sent to warehouse". I sent over 6 emails to customer support and recieved 2 canned email replies and all I got in responce was canned replies from the CS department about what "ususally ships in 1-2 days" means and nobody would tell me when it would actually ship. "TOTALLY HORRIBLE COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH!! I placed an order on 11/15 and waited....and waited...and WAITED. I kept checking my order status online (absolutely no way to reach them by phone) and it kept saying my order had shipped on the 17th. UPS tracking never went beyond "billing information received" and I never received my order. After spending over an hour I found where I could fill out a form for "customer service" issues on the buy.com website. Was greated with a standard "we've received your messagea and will responsed within 12 hours", haven't heard a single thing from them since then. Steer clear of this joke of a company, all they do is take your money and spend their time figuring out how to cheat you out of more of it!"
"Failed to follow my instinct and ordered from this company once again. Ordered for 2nd day delivery on a weekend, knowing they wouldn't process until Monday. Finally after seeing for three days "sent to warehouse" which by the way, has to be located in Sibera, the order was canceled. Then on the fourth day I finally recieved and email notifying me of the cancelation. Great Service Eh?"
"I ordered an "in stock" D-link wireless system. 3 business days later, Buy.com sends a shipping confirmation with a tracking number. The problem is, the shipping company tells me that no physical item has been shipped. The "tracking" number was just a shipping manifest that was created by buy.com. If this was my first interaction with Buy.com, I might not be unhappy. Unfortunately, my order prior to this one also had the same "shipping" problem. There was a shipping number, but no merchandise was actually shipped. In that case, two weeks had to pass before so buy.com could confirm that the order wasn't "lost". They then re-shipped the order. I am hoping that doesn't happen with this order, but...who knows.
It seems that this is a common issue with this company."
"Buy.com is sketchy with rebates.
On November 28th I purchased a Minolta Z1 camera with a 256 SD memory card advertized with a $50 rebate. The camera went out first and I received it a few days later. The memory card was "backordered" and I received notification that it has finally shipped and will arrive at my doorstep on the 15th of December. As I was preparing the rebate I noticed the fine print of it which states that the rebate submission MUST BE POSTMARKED by the 15th. Coincidence? I think not. I believe this was their way of tricking the customer with a rebate that is impossible to fulfill and having to get stuck with the $50 out of pocket."
"I ordered the same TDK player as the previous person the 128mb one. Well when i ordered it i was put on backorder for this item and it took forever to recieve it, i finally got it on December 11 and now have to see if im still eligible to send in the two rebates, not pleased at all"
