"Three days ago I placed an order through the buy.com website for a book and two CDs. The book was eligible for free shipping (UPS), the CDs were not (USPS). This afternoon, I received a UPS package from buy.com. Anxious to start reading my new book, I opened the package only to find that they had shipped the wrong book to me. There was no phone number on the invoice, so I tried looking at the buy.com website. I called their 800 number and selected the "pre-existing order" option only to be told that I would have to pay $9.95 in order to speak with someone about my order. This policy is absolutely CRAZY and had I bothered to check ResellerRatings.com before I placed my order with buy.com, I wouldn't be dealing with this kind of crap now. Next, I visited the buy.com website searching for information on what to do when buy.com ships the wrong product to a customer. According to the website, I simply click on a URL to get my RMA number so *I* can pay to ship the package back to them. Finally I stumabled across the online claim form which I filled out and submitted only to be told that it could take 17 - 21 days for them to "investigate" my claim. The e-mail that I received confirming that my claim was received indicated that it might take buy.com up to 5 business days for them to "process" my claim. As many previous customers have said...

"I have purchased many items from Buy.com in the past, and I have had nothing but the best in service and quality. I try looking at Buy.com to compair prices on items I'm about to purchase, especially if I'm going to be buying a large quantity of objects.
When I built my first computer in 2000, I used Buy.com as a major source for my goods. The prices on everything were at the absolute best at the time, plus I couldn't pass the opportunity for FREE shipping. :-) Since 2000, I have been using Buy.com as a source for many of my needs, and I will continue to do so in the future."

The CF card was suddenly out of stock after I ordered it. I attempted to cancel the CF card order and TEN DAYS after cancelling it, they ship it to me. Repeated emails went unanswered and calling them costs money. I will NEVER buy from them again."
"I ordered this item (SKU#10221973) Yamaha YST MS35D Speakers they were listed for $14.99 which is a great price, but When I went back to the web site a day after ordering the item description showed that they were "no longer available from the manufacturer". I figured they went out of stock after I ordered.
However NOW a week later, the item does not even show up on their web site, my order status shows "sent to warehouse" which the site says means payment has been verified, and they submitted the order for shipping. Yet when you click on their "question about the charges on my order" it shows that the speakers are on order from the manufacturer.
Well if you have read this, you know that I have some questions about whether or not I will EVER get those speakers that were priced so good.
HERE IS WHY I WILL NEVER, EVER ORDER FROM BUY.COM AGAIN, AND WHY YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER:
Tried to find an email addres to ask a question, NONE LISTED ON THEIR WEB SITE (or hidden very well, if it is, go ahead look for yourself). Ok so I'll call them, TO GET THEM TO ANSWER THE PHONE ABOUT AN ORDER YOU HAVE PLACED YOU HAVE TO PAY THEM $9, THAT'S RIGHT NINE DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, They give you the "email support for free" option, and tell you to go to their "help" link to get email support, THERE IS NO EMAIL ADDRESS OR LINK ON THEIR HELP SITE!!! Just this idiotic "help expert" interactive crap that IS NO HELP AT ALL!
I don't deal with companies that I can not contact FOR FREE, if I have a question about my order. Or at least I won't again.
My last order from Buy.com was on a "Free Shipping" promotion where they wait until the very end of the order process to tell you about the $4 Handling charge. The Owner of the company later said that that was misleading and would refund all of those charges, but only because he was confronted by the press about it. I emailed Buy.com (back when they still listed their email address) to demand my refund, and got it 6 weeks later.
This company is run by scumbags who will cheat you any way they can, then make sure you have to pay them to call them on it.

Sent me back the same wrong item , I don't think buy.com even carries the item they advertised . buy.com has some fine print about making a mistake in advertising ....Bottom line customer is the loser ! buy.com can advertise what they want and send you whatever they want and it's not their fault it just happens to be a cheaper item ...I would think resellerratings.com would be warry of posting deals from such a lowly rated vendor ?"
"I have been a loyal customer from buy.com for several years but I will *NEVER* buy from them again. Why? Because they removed any method to talk to a human about a problem. You only get automated hell for help.
Recently I purchased something from them. When it didn't arrive I checked their web site. They had it marked off as having been received. I couldn't call a phone number to talk to someone about this nor could I leave email. There wasn't any phone number or email address. I had to use their automated system to let them know I hadn't received the order. Their automated system did nothing. It told me I had to wait 13 days for a response. This is totally unreasonable. I should be able to talk to a human immediately. I had to call my credit card company have them go have buy.com to solve this problem.
It is now well past the 13 days but their web site still says my order was received. They are totally unresponsive and will NEVER get my business again.

"I ordered the six disc Babylon 5 First Season set from buy.com. It arrived on time. But with the holiday season and work, it took me a while to go through the entire set of discs. Unfortunately, disc 4 was defective (it skips all around making it impossible to view). I emailed buy.com but found out that since I noticed the defect after the 30 day warranty, I was out of luck. I also emailed Warner Brothers, who made the disc, and they said to get in contact with buy.com. 30 days just isn't enough time to go through 50+ hours of video."
