"I personally would never buy from Buy.com ever again. A year and a half ago I ordered a 200 dollar camera. First things first, I paid 20 dollars for overnight shipping, it came in 4 days. Eventually when it did come I opened the shipping box and saw the camera box. Well that camera box was completely empty, no camera, no manual, no cords, no nothing.
So I filed a report and explained the situation. After waiting a week, it said that my claim was denied. Something about the weight of the package being the same as when they previous weighed it. That doesn't really matter because I didn't receive anything. Then I called and basically explained the situation again that I had paid for it, and did not receive anything except for a box. I don't think a small cardboard box is worth over 200 dollars.
To essentially get me off the phone they said that I would hear back from within 3-5 business days. Okay, fine. The thing is though, after 12 days or so, no one had called me. So I actually called them again, and of course now I'm rightfully angry. I was actually able to talk to this woman who was a higher up (not really sure what she did, but the foreign guy on the phone said she was a higher up).
She listened to my ordeal and supposedly sympathized with me. Saying that she totally understood what the situation was and how she would hate to be treated like this. She tells me that she'll get back to me within 24 hours. Now of course I'm thinking, finally all this BS and waiting has paid off. Well guess what, 24 hours pass, 48 hours pass, 72 hours pass, a week passes. I haven't received a return phone call.
So again I call them back. By the way: Their customer service number is no where to be found on their site (at least at the time). I had to search Google to find the number. I'm now really angry when I call. I'm not yelling but there's a sense of anger in my voice. I would think by now, they don't think I'm trying to stifle them from being paid. Why would I go through all this trouble just to steal a camera? They heard the story again, for the third or fourth time and now there's anger in my voice.
They tell me they will get back to me in 3 to 5 business days. I say to them "Really? Really? Are you sure? Because that's what you said the last 3 times and it took you a week and a half. And you never actually called me, I had to call you." They assured me it would actually be 3 to 5 business days.
Two days later I receive an email from Buy.com. Wow, I can't believe it. I'm paraphrasing now, but what the email essentially said was "We have looked over this situation and have come to the conclusion that we aren't going to help you. You're screwed."
So lastly I file a wrongful charge on my credit card. Of course Buy.com denies it and I don't get my money back. I kind of just gave up, because honestly what could I do? Sue them?
Sorry, when I hear "reputable" and "highly recommend" and Buy.com in the same sentence it makes my blood boil. As you can guess, I would never recommend shopping there.
As you can see I still feel the same as I did a year and half ago."

This was the first time I ever had to return anything to them, though. I got a defective Zune and their website let me print a return UPS label - PREPAID!
Within a week and a half I had a credit on my account for the full purchase price.

"I have been ordering from Buy.com for several years now. Each order has been fulfilled to my satisfaction, if I had a problem, item was replaced or credited.. I have over 30 orders and one processing at this time. I find good pricing and customer service at this site and will continue using it."
"Absolutely horrible company. After their advertising a Dyson vacuum cleaner I ordered one, semi-reluctantly because the priced seemed unreasonably low.
After placing my order I checked the laws pertaining to online bait and switch as well as pricing errors. The laws specified that once your credit card is billed the seller is responsible for delivering on the product unless they have a disclaimer to the contrary, they did not have one.
I received confirmation on my order from Google Checkout for the Dyson vacuum cleaner, an order confirmation from Buy.com, then a notice that my credit card had been billed.
Two days later I received an email informing me that my 6 ounces of coffee had shipped! I contacted them immediately and told them that I had ordered a Dyson DC14 Vacuum Cleaner with Hepa Filter, not coffee. They insisted I ordered this exotic coffee. I forwarded copies of my email receipts and orders confirmation and they told to refuse to sign for delivery and that it would be returned at which time a refund would be provided.I told them I wanted the vacuum and not a refund so they offered to throw in a 5 dollar off coupon for their online store, which I declined. Several days later a neighbor brought a package to my house that was left on their porch, it was the coffee I was suppose to refuse to sign for. Since I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, Filed a complaint with the State's Attorneys Office as well as with IC3.
The Better Business Bureau is the only one who has completed their investigation and informed me that Buy.com had failed to respond to their notice so they were closing my case. They did note it would be kept on record and in their data base.
This was absolute and intentional fraud. They claimed it was an error once I provided screen-captions of their advertisement I ordered from. However the specified shipping weight was 18.6 pounds, the coffee was 6 ounces. There was a vacuum and description provided. In fact the day after I ordered they showed the item as sold out,then later showed it back in stock but added a $15 shipping charge where when I placed my order the shipping was free. So they were perfectly aware of this fraud.
Do not trust this company, it appears they are on their last leg and willing to scam anyone they can until they close up shop.
EDIT: NO refund was provided and you know that full well. In fact I just gave the coffee away you sent in place of the vacuum last week. Check the Better Business Bureau Records to see if a refund was given. Customer satisfaction is the least of your concerns and your feeble rebuttal is as pitiful as your company."
"Buy.com recieved payment, but claimed they didn't. I paid with paypal. Not until I entered a dispute with paypad did they acknowledge their mistake. Now they want me to close the dispute without them giving a refund. Also, the order was cancelled without my request. I have had great dealings with internet companies, to bad buy.com has to be such disreputable pitiful companies to ruin others reputations. Hopefully they will refund before I have to escalate further with paypal."
"I recently purchased a laptop from buy.com. Without even receiving an email, the order was cancelled, and I only found out this fact when I checked the status off of buy.com's website. The reason that the package was cancelled was that I changed my address on my paypal account before the purchase (I just moved) and it was unverified. I had no idea that this mattered at the time. Well, I am fine that the order was cancelled, I understand that, buy I was still charged for the price of the laptop from my paypal acccount (around $212 dollars.) Recently, I have received no emails from buy.com pertaining to the problem, and I have talked to their customer service many times, and each time, they tell me that the issue will be resolved within 24-48 hours, and so far, it has not. I just want my money back for something that should not take this long, since no item was shipped to me. This was my first time dealing with buy.com, and depending on how they resolve the issue, it may be the last time. "

"I attempted to purchase their refurbished Xbox, but the order was cancelled because the shipping address was an "unconfirmed paypal address"...my office. The email notice of this included a statement that I would be refunded within 24 hours. This was fine - I could simply reorder and send to my house. But, it is now day 5 and I am still waiting. I opened a Paypal dispute to "remind" Buy.com of it's obligation for a refund, with no response and more importantly, no refund.

After seeing my review, my refund has been processed. Thank you to whomever at buy.com checks Reseller Ratings and your relatively quick action, but I find it absolutely appalling that it takes such a bad review posted online to motivate this company to move."
"Item was not packaged in any real packaging but a clear plastic bag. No paper work with product and missing parts. Buy.com was of no help and told me to contact manufacture.
I also ordered a 2 gb sd card that was 45 bucks with 40 rebate. That was a scam, the comapny was just trying to raise cash before filing chap 11. Buy.com sent me a 10 dollar credit but I felt really screwed on paying 35 bucks for a 2 gb sd card."

"Not happy with recent order - don't think it is buy.com - I think it is their supplier - antonline. Ordered 2 items - recieved one within about 3 days - it has been 15 days and nothing in regards to the second item. Did recieve a shipped confirmation on both items - recieved tracking updates and information on the item that I recieved - NO TRACKING INFORMATION ON SECOND ITEM AT ALL. Antonline has not been helpful at all - not a happy customer. Will change or update my review if I can get ANY response from either buy.com or antonline. So for both have not been helpful - but they had no problem taking my money!
10/19/2009. Buy.com helped me with their supplier Antonline. I was notified that I will receive a refund for my item that I did not receive. I have not received it yet, but I know it will take a few days. I did not ask for a refund, but Buy.com was pro active and issued the refund. I really would have prefered to get what I ordered, but thank you Buy.com. Antonline was to date not helpful until Buy.com got involved. I went ahead and re-ordered the same product from another supplier. Let's see what happens this time. Will keep all posted. I hate to say it, but I will pay more for something before I purchase from Antonline again."
