"I preordered a video game from Buy.com recently, expecting to receive it shortly after the release date. While I received an email from indicating that the game "shipped" on the release date of 11/14, the tracking information indicates that the package was not received by the shipped until the 16th, at which point it vanished into the USPS system in Groveport, Ohio, where, for all I know (as there is no further tracking info available), it remains still (on the 19th). Perhaps I was mistaken to assume that Buy.com would prioritize shipments of pre-ordered media to enable them to arrive close to their release date. Sadly that seems not to be the case, at least with the freebie shipping option. Regardless, I am very disinclined to pre-order from Buy.com again--which I did in this case because their total price was somewhat lower than the competitors. (Update - Nov. 21 - item still not delivered, has perhaps been in my city for the past two days, according to tracking info.) (Update - Nov. 26 - item was finally delivered on Nov. 23, over a week after the release date. Tracking info, after the delivery was recieved, still noted "delivery date unknown.")"
"I pre ordered this game with the expectation of being able to play it the day it launched (was available in brick & mortar stores). Clearly, I was wrong. Two days after the retail launch, still no game. Tracking the shipment gives a benign and ambiguous status, and I'm left with no game, and buy.com holding my money.
Going to buy the game from a retail store today and will refuse their shipment, assuming it even comes today. In the end, I learned my lesson to never pre-order a game from Buy.com.

"That was a HP pavilion computer Elite model. That model is a good one overall.
It says it is a 'refurbished' one. It also says "everything is HP standard" even though it is refurbished or 'reconditioned' as what buy.com called. However, when I got the computer, it did not work at all. When I press the on/off switch, all it did was turning it self on and off constantly, without any signal to monitor , or keyboard, or mouse. Buy.com just sells things unresponsibly. They probably continue selling my returned item right to other customers and claim it is a HP standard. I also have a few other purchases around that time. EVERY SINGLE ONE has trouble. I will post later on again. Avoid this vendor if you value your time."

I contact them and they told me that the car charger is sold-out and they cant ship it.
This is not my problem i paid for both of them if you can't send both, cancel my order!!

"Their website showed a picture of two Cerwin Vega bookshelf speakers and advertised a price of $71.99. I checked with another site (a1components.com) to compare the price. The other company clearly indicated they offered a pair of the same speakers for $75.99. So I ordered from Buy.com to get the better price. I received an email saying my speaker had been shipped. Yes that's correct, the price was for one speaker, although the website illustration pictured two. Buy.com explained that they offer the best price avaiable at the time. WOW! nearly 100% more than a1components.com, that's hardly the best price.
What a bad first experience with a company.
I will not accept delivery of the speaker and will dispute the charge to my credit card company. Their cutomer service is a joke and never directly addressed the issue, they just kept sending me emails saying how hard they try to satisfy their customers. One way or another I'll get my money back and scratch it up to a lesson learned. Make sure you know what you are paying for and beware when buying from Buy.com.
PS: The replacement that I was sent from Buy.com was a $5.00 gift certificate. Sorry, but that won't change my response. The speaker came today and I had it returned. I spoke with my bank and they assured me that if my descriptiion of the circumstances is accurate and I don't soon get a refund, the funds would be returned to my account.
This company just doesn't get it. Deceptive advertising and overcharging is no way to satisfy a customer. I buy a lot of merchandise online and they lost my future business and please stop insulting me with that phrase "your satisfaction is our #1 priority".
11/19/09 They promised to send a refund within 48hrs. If this holds true I'll edit this post and give them credit for returning my money. I'm waiting to see if they at least try to correct their bumbling this sale. I'm willing to forgive and acknowledge that they may not be hopeless and maybe I somewhat overreacted.
If I fail to get the refund, OMG I'll be back with a vengence.
11/25/09 - My money was refunded. In the final analysis I think this retailer simply needs better customer relations. Maybe I was too harsh in my assesment of them, but they need to respond more directly to customer complaints."

THey will fight you on your order every step of the way. The final straw came recently when I required information and assistance on a warranty for my computer. No help at all.
If you are expecting any type of assistance from the customer service side, avoid Buy.com at all costs.

"I searched for a place to buy navigation software for my Garmin GPSMap 60C. The best price was from ANTOnline through Buy.com. I ordered the software, installed it and found it was incompatible with the GPSMap60C. I contacted customer service at ANTOnline and they responded that they could not accept a return for opened software that hed been previously installed. I explained that they sold me software that was supposed to work and it did not. They did not care. They refused to exchange my software for the proper version. I told them this was unacceptable and that I required further service to resolve the matter and never heard from them again. I will NEVER shop at Buy.com or ANTOnline again and I tell everyone I know how badly they treated me.
There was a good ending to my story though. Garmin International picked up the ball where ANTOnline dropped it and gave me FULL Credit for what I had paid to ANTOnline and exchanged my software for the proper version even though they did not sell it to me. Kudos to Garmin. Boo to ANTOnline and Buy.Com
Here's an update. Buy.com contacted me and apologized for the lack of help from their reseller. They gave me a small gift certificate which is totally appreciated. They have tried to make things right. I am going to improve their rating based on this latest communication."
