"BEWARE!! Screwed twice on same item.
I have never written a negative review in my life. But this was such an awful experience I felt it necessary. First time purchasing from Buy.com. Got an external harddrive to back up files. All looked well , price was okay. The first time I received the package, the parts in the box were rattling around, no need to even to test the content, yes THAT BAD. Had to pay for return-shipping my self as they would not do it. They sent me a replacement that that stopped working after 3 times using it. Just enough time to loose 300GB of Data. Nice. By this time I was extremely frustrated. I explained the situation to the exchange people and they wouldn't even cover shipping costs. No choice but to pay for shipping AGAIN and wait even longer. It is almost 3 months since I ordered the item and I still have no harddrive... No confirmation.. no nothing... I just have bills for the items and twice the shipping and 3 months of waiting... I thought they had a big name and could be reliable? They have zero customer service and are most likely buying defective merchandise to sell to you. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. Seriously. "

"Placed an order for "World At War (11-Disc Set)" on July 4 2009. Buy.com sent me a notice on July 14, 2009 to say the order had been canceled ... no reason given. Oh.. and by the way "thank you for shopping Buy.com".
This is a despicable practice of any retailer.. Buy.com has now done this sort of thing to me twice.
They are taking orders for items they do not have in stock.... then canceling those orders over a week later. My time and effort is worth something too... all I get is an I'm sorry or an thanks come back again.
This practice is inherently flawed. When I place an order online, that is a business contract to my way of thinking. They have broken this contract and there is little recourse that would be practical on my part to pursue.
A good business would have filled the order from another vendor.. even if it cost them more to do so.. or maybe they would give me a $10 credit for my effort and disappointment.
They offer nothing."

"Our last order from buy.com, we received a wireless keyboard and mouse that was opened, used, and returned before it was shipped out to us. It was even missing the batteries. It was NOT listed on their web site as an open box or even a refurbished product.
Issue remains unresolved after over two weeks, with no response whatsoever from buy.com customer support.
EDIT: vendor did finally offer a refund, but only after a dispute was filed with Paypal."
"My history on my account w buy.com shows 13 orders since Feb 2007, but I have dealt with them for a lot longer than that - possibly as long as 8 years. I had one monitor which I returned because I did not like it, no problem. (I did not argue about the 15% restocking fee in this case.)
I had one order lost by the postal service - they promptly replaced it. Their prices are often the lowest on the web, delivery is fast, in many cases free.
I have always been very pleased with the service, and was surprised to see that they have so many complaints on resellerratings."
"I bought a Macintosh video card in late May. After receiving the card, I discovered the card to be noisy and after further investigation I learned that Apple would not be supporting this card in their next OS. I corresponded with Buy.com's Customer Service Department via the internet which proved to be clumsy. I was dealing with three employees, two of which seemed to be incompetent. One of their people knew what he was doing, and supplied me with return instructions and an RMA. I reordered another card, that Apple will be supporting, and they price matched it with a price from a competing vendor. I received a credit for the first card that included shipping charges."

"I ordered an Intel Gigabit ET Dual Port Server Adapter on 06/21. Chose 2 day shipping. According to the tracking system, it shipped on 06/22 and I was supposed to receive it in 2 days (06/24).
My order did not arrive and when I contacted buy.com, they could not tell me what happened except that they will try to ship another one to me.
I was OK with that, but I wanted my 2-day shipping fee refund since it did not arrive within the stipulated time frame. The person who handled the case just flat out canceled my order my order!
I'm leaving the country for a fair bit, and it's too late for me to reorder over the weekend. So I won't be getting my much needed NIC card.
Just a warning to everyone. Me, I'm staying with Newegg.com next time. A couple of bucks pricier, but at least service is good and things actually arrive without going FUBAR."
"I ordered a Canon lens from Click on a deal via buy. com. And they failed miserably on their customers service. They provide No phone numbers, and when you write them an e-mail they dont response to you... I had 5 sleppless night because of this 2 joke of a company. But the lesson is learned, if they dont have a contact info, or if they tel;l you write us an e-mail and if its urgent give US your phone number and we will call you, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!! I have been trying for 6 days to get an anwer from them but still waiting..so I might end up hving stuck with a 500 dollar lens that I vcant return...and Buy.com does not take any responsibility for a marketplace order..and click on a deal gives you 7 days to return a product so they just take their time to fill that 7 days...horibble horiible horrible!!!!!!!"

"This was first time buying from Buy.com and boy was it the biggest mistake of my life yet.
They had the cheapest modern 37in TV. It was some off brand- Niko. So I thought the cheap price was because of the unknown brand.- I was wrong.
The TV did not work. The remote takes 20 sec to register after I turn it on,- that is if it will turn on at all. Sometimes it just won't turn on. It's straight up defective.
I do the email interface for RMA. They issue one, but then they say I cannot return it because the TV is over 27in. On their return policy it clearly states anything defective is returnable. But they simply will no take it back. I called so many times- no go. I just waste almost $1k.
Speaking of calling- their phone service is horrible. They send me to some call center in the pacific island- I have no problem with this, but when I tried to get some higher authority or someone in US on the line, the pacific islanders refuse. Not matter what, they said, they cannot take a call higher up- 'elevate call'. For me, if any company refuses to allow their customers take to the higher-up, then I will not do business with them. It's very bad philosophy, and form all the reviews here, I think a lot of people are catching on the the Buy.com scam. With amazing services of giants like Amazon, I don't see a Buy.com in the future if they keep this up.
Don't buy from buy.com period. I haven't since. It was my first and last."
