"Awful. Ordered a white Intel Atom Eee PC, 1 GB RAM. Got a black Intel Celeron Eee PC, 512 MB RAM. The worst part are the dates:

4/20 - Made the purchase
4/28 - They finally ship out the wrong product
5/11 - Wrong shipment arrives. I return it the same day
5/21 - Email confirming that I will be getting a refund
5/24 - Money is back in my account

A whole month+ ordeal for nothing.

Update: 6/5 Buy.com contacted me via email and offered me a $10 gift certificate as an apology. I appreciate the sentiment and feel less irked by the whole scenario.

Update: 10/29 Tried to apply the $10 gift certificate that I was offered as apology only to realize they wouldn't apply it to my offer, causing me to pay for the whole purchase myself. When I try to return the product, I'm told there I would have to pay shipping for return. Usually would give a company the benefit of the doubt, however, in this case, I will not. Buy.com is not worth the hassle.

"I order computer stuff several times per year from Buy.com . They have very good specials and are efficient and accurate in order processing and notifications. Delivery is usually quick although don't count on 2-day delivery being faster if you live in CA or neighboring state."

"BUY.COM - BUNCH OF CROOKS - AVOID THEM.
I have never seen such a big cheating company. I ordered for a MP3 player and they shipped me another MP3 player which was less than half the cost of what I ordered.
When I asked them where is my MP3 player, they said we will give you a 20% credit.
I said I need my MP3 player and then they stopped replying to me.
I returned the cheap MP3 player they sent me but haven't heard from them as yet.
Now they have the cheap MP3 player back with them and they have all my money.
I have no idea what to do.
Can anyone tell me how can I sue these bunch of corrks so that ateast they do not loot other shoppers like me.

"This order was placed for a new ipod but i recieved a used ipod wrapped in a paper and sent. This is nothing but cheating. Customer service is pathetic.

I am waiting to see their resolution, else will have to take necessary legal action.

I ORDERED A CORSAIR 32GB VOYAGER USB 2.O FLASH DRIVE, TOTAL COST ABOUT 76.19. OTHER PLACES ARE SELLING THEM FOR ABOUT 75.00, SO I AM SAVING A COUPLE BUCKS. I ORDERED IT ON 12MAY, RECIEVED IT ON 18MAY, NOT BAD, FREE SHIP IF YOU OPT THE 6-9DAY SHIPPING. EXCELLENT PRODUCT, WORKED WELL. I WOULD GIVE THE COMPANY FIVE STARS, BUT....YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SIGN FOR IT, AND LUCKILY I WALKED OUTSIDE, IT WAS HANGING OUT OF MY MAILBOX, NOT GOOD, IT COULD OF HAVE BEEN STOLEN. "THe moral of this review is agree with the majority if the other reviewers. I saw an excellent proce onm the Intuous tablet and ordered it from this company and paid for 2 day delivery. Today I went to check on the order. My credit card had approved the purchase. When I tried to track my order on line I could not locate it and so i called, waited on hold for 15 minutes for an agent. I was told that the order was being checked and that they would ship when this process was complete. I let them know that the payment amount had already been approved but they could not give me an idea as to when their process would be complete. I was a waste of time and I felt rather than risk anything I cancelled the order. The agent would not give me her name or a cancellation number. Lesson learned."

"I purchased a Pioneer DVD player from Buy.com. It arrived at my door, in perfect, new condition, two days later. I paid about $15 less than the next cheapest vendor. I must say that I am extremely satisfied with my experience with Buy.com.

This is not the first time I have shopped there. I have always been quite happy using Buy.com, and have never had any problem with them. If they have the best price on an item I want, I will not hesitate to buy from them again.

"Buy.com has specials which are very hard to beat. They are not, however, the most reliable e-tailer. I have had situations that after having paid for an item a month later I found it was not available after which fact they reimbursed my Google account. They did not even give me a discount coupon for my next purchase! Customer service is slow, although customer-oriented. Their prices on specials attract me, but being able to buy the same item at a similar price I would rather purchase at other sites where I have shopped previously."

"I am incredibly disappointed with Buy.com. I purchased a TV from them. They afterwards raised the price of the TV, continued to take orders, and then casually told me that they have cancelled the order .. because they are "out of stock"!! LIARS! Not to mention, they charged my credit card which they later refunded, but .. this is ridiculous! Don't take orders you don't have any intent of fulfilling.

I'm thru with this store, Scratched off my list forever! DONE!

"Placed an order on Sunday afternoon and a few hours later got an email saying it had been canceled because their "Address Verification Team was unable to verify vital shipping or billing information in your order" and had been unsuccessful contacting me at my listed phone or email address. Unfortunately "Since we are not able to hold an order open indefinitely, after a certain amount of time, our system had to cancel your order". Indefinitely must mean more than four or five hours. True, one of the spam filters on my mail server was giving their server's delivery attempts a temporary failure as it unsuccessfully tried to verify the sender address as legit. It was failing because it was trying to verify the address with the sending server which seems to be outgoing only. I noticed this the following day and white listed the buyservices.com domain which allowed their emails through but the only one I got was the cancellation email which had been sent Sunday evening, only a few hours after my order. So apparently their "Address Verification Team" had not tried to contact me "via the email address on your order" but rather by phone. Except I was home all day Sunday and never got a call from them. Maybe I somehow missed their email or phone call. No worries, their cancellation email contained this invitation; "For further information regarding the reason for cancellation, please contact us at ****@****." So I still had a thread of hope that I could resolve this verification problem but alas, though I emailed them and gave them my daytime number at work and explained that I had white listed their mail server domain in case they preferred email communication, I never heard from them again. But why are they trying to verify my address or billing info in the first place? My last order was only a month ago and my shipping and billing info was the same, I even used the same credit card. My first order with them was in 2002 so I've been a customer for 7 years. Does it really make good business sense to cancel orders from 7-year customers after such a feeble attempt to verify the same shipping/billing info that has already been used successfully on previous orders? I could be wrong here but I'm going to go out on a limb and say no, it does not. Canceling my orders does not give me feelings of goodwill and from a strictly practical standpoint, because they couldn't be bothered to contact me again, this "verification" issue is still open, waiting to bite me again on any future order. So I won't be ordering from them again - ever. I'll be sticking with Amazon, as huge as they are the few times I have ever needed to contact their customer service department they have responded promptly, were very courteous and went above and beyond to handle the issue. For what little it's worth, that's my buy.com experience."
