"Beware of BUY.COM's "FREE SHIPPING" offer. By the evening of the order, which the item said "In Stock, usually ships in 1 - 2 days" the status said "sent to warehouse". It stayed in this status for 4 days. When I asked customer service about it they said they stated that the did no know why it did not ship but I would receive an email when it did. It shipped out that evening, and it is now the 13th and I have still not received my order!!"

"buy.com = horrible customer service. As of today a lifetime rating of 4.33 which is bad and a six month rating of 2.xx, buy.com is not a good retailer and apparently getting worse. It might be ok if your product arrives and you have no problems. If you do you are S--- out of luck.
14 day return policy and they won't do a refund for a defective product. They first said they'd do an exchange but then recanted and sent me a link to Nokia's warranty site. Brand new $250 phone used for 5 minutes and they won't help at all. And to add to the frustration the only way to contact them is through a "contact us" application on the website. No phone numbers and they wouldn't call me despite a request. Further, their email responses would not allow a response back. This means you have to start over each time with their contact us application.
I wish I wish I wish I had seen the reviews here before my purchase. Do yourself a favor and order from somewhere other then buy.com even if it is a few more bucks."
"Do not buy from this company under any circumstances. I purchased a $2800 television that does not work properly. I told them I wanted a replacement. They have refused and I can not get anywhere with the manufacturer. I have brought my credit card company into the situation. I hope they can win.
Buy.com has a very sneaky way of playing everything out slowly. It takes days to get to the actual support team at Buy.com. Once you do get them, they e-mail you at the end of the day. YOu have to respond after hours and you have to wait for the next day to hear back.
If you have a problem with them, call your credit card company immediately. Or better yet DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!!"

I ordered a laptop and RAM to go with it on 5/1. they promised that it was in stock and would ship same day - also failed to tell me that someone would be calling my HOME PHONE NUMBER during a weekday (I work, like most people) to verify the shipping address (which we already did 3 times during the order). After several HOURS on the phone with customer service managers, they decided on 5/6 to expedite shipping on the ram (only) for their mistakes - however, they sent the WRONG RAM, so I had to charge the right RAM and eat shipping to get it on time before leaving the country. they still have not credited my card, though I refused shipment on their screwup. absolute incompetence - DO NOT BUY FROM BUY.COM"
"Purchased a Logitech V470 mouse for Mac. The mouse does not work properly under OSX, the buttons stop working when switching users. They do not offer credit for opened hardware, what good is a replacement to me. I also posted a review giving the mouse a 5/5 for everything except performance and a 1/5 overall because it doesn't function properly. My review was dropped and never posted on their review site. I rely extensively on customer reviews when selecting product, if I had seen a similar review to mine I would have not have purchased this product instead buy.com listed this as a 4.5/5 mouse. I emailed customer support regarding getting credit but all their responses are cookie cutter. I am returning the product and contacting my credit card company.

"absolutely horrid customer service experience. i bought a external hard drive from them that was dead on arrival. i filed for an RMA within 3 or 4 days. i'm informed (then) that i can only return the hard drive for a replacement (same exact drive). i try 2 other computers to verify that it is indeed an issue with the hard drive, and not my computer (to avoid being charged shipping for returning this item, only to have it shipped back to me). further research shows me this is a relatively common issue with this hard drive (unusual for western digital). i call to request money back instead of replacement. i'm told by a customer service tech that i will be called back by their manager. no return call. i call again. same issue. i send emails regarding the subject, and get standard canned responses, now stating my 14 days to return the product has returned! yeah, because noone is returning my calls and answering my question prior to my sending the unit back! 2 months later i'm still trying to get answers, and have the product returned. still nothing. after approx 5 hours on the phone, and 4 different emails, i'm told that i can no longer return the product, due to buy.com's return policy. you've GOT to be kidding me. it never functioned. it was dead on arrival, and all this time has passed due to buy.com not returning my calls, or answering my actual questions. i don't know how many times i heard "i'm sorry", "my apologies", "i understand", but "my hands are tied due to corporate policy". so to summarize, i paid them a good sum of money for an external hard drive, the hard drive was dead on arrival, and after 5 hours of talking on the phone with them, i was not able to convince them that the logical course of action was to give me my money back (much less even return the product anymore due to all the time that had elapsed). so i'm out my money and i have a unit that doesn't work. and the manufacturer won't return the item either. unbelievable. i'll never do business with them ever again. they have no clue with regards to customer service, all they care about is money in their pocket."

"I received my daily Reseller Rating Hot Deals email that mentioned a 1 TB external HD for only $189 and free shipping. After checking a couple reviews on it I decided to order it. The Web Site tried to move me to use standard shipping which would cost about $7.95 but I didn't care if I got it in 3-5 days or if it took the 7 to 10 days that free shipping would be. I ordered it, got an email the next day saying it had been shipped and I received it on Friday (3 days from order to receipt) It was shipped out of California to me in Utah so not a huge distance. I have not connected and tested it yet, but that has little or nothing to do with Buy.com, only the manufacturer. I have not had to deal with thier customer service department so I can't comment on that."
