"I've been buy.com customer for 5 yaers. I acctually fall in love with them. That is until last time when I ordered a stupid power adapter for $13.99 and did not get it. I tried to clear this thing with buy.com but found out that it is MY responsibilty to receive the package and once they send it it is on me to get it. Fortunately my credit card company took care of the charge no problem with one quick phone call. Just a warning for buy.com buyers to be responsible for your packages."
"I thought that I was getting a good deal at Buy.com. They charged me for shipping something which cost enough that others would have shipped it for free. OK no problem there, I did save some money. At least I thought that, at the time I ordered it. But when It got here it had the wrong power supply with it. Ok these things happen. So i tried to find out how I could return it and get what I paid for. The problem is that I did not set up an account until after I placed the order. Now they only send me links to my account. In each e-mail I've sent I make sure to point out that I had placed the order before I set up my account. But they just don't get it. One last chance. After this I will see what legal recourse I have. So far this good deal has been nothing but a pain."

"I bought two items from buy dot com
One, a motherboard EVGA 780i SLI and it shipped fine.......so no worries.
So I saw a CPU Q9450 for a great price, I knew it was not available as yet, I could wait because it was about to come out.
After a week of checking to see if it was available, I found it at Micro Center for cheaper, so I cancelled my order with buy dot com.
As of now, I am still waiting for buy dot com to release my credit purchase from Visa. I contacted buy dot com several times. It seems they dont want to give me the release of the pending charges of 351.68,
After sending 50 emails to them from their website, I get a responce on how to do this with Visa. WTF....
So now I have to train buy dot come on how to handle cancellations?
The first order went so good and I recomended them to people I know.
I see several people called buy dot com, but where is the number?
I'm still waiting to get my credit card cleared of the pending charges from March 17th 2008 to now, 4/11/08
I will never buy from them again and tell others to steer clear of them no matter what prices they have

"Buy.com uses overseas customer service representatives that can barely speak english. When you email customer service you can expect to receive a generic pre-made "one size fits all" email response. Buy.com uses a supplier system. You can think of Buy.com as the "middle man" and if you're in a hurry to get your order fast, look elsewhere because they will take forever to ship your order. In addition, Buy.com uses a very aggresive credit card confirmation system. They will make you either email or fax a copy of your actual credit card and driver license and they will take a whole extra day to process payment. Let me say this again, if you want your order to arrive fast do not order from Buy.com. Although they are listed as an Asus authorized reseller I do not believe they get stock directly from Asus. Instead they use a network of suppliers to drop ship from their warehouses. I was very disappointed with their overseas customer service since they could never give me specific details on my order. I ended up canceling after waiting over two weeks for an item that was being sold everywhere else on line. I was lured by the low price but I ended up paying more and getting my notebook faster from another merchant. "
"My order got cancelled after all transaction and authorization online went smooth. I received email confirmation about my order. The next day, suddenly the transaction got cancelled, and their reason was that my credit card couldn't be authorized. WHAT THE HELL... the funny thing, when i tried to re-order, the price suddenly went up almost twice. So it means that buy.com put the wrong price earlier and didn't admit their mistake, and just cancel my order. WHAT A F#$%ING LAME"
"Very dissatisfied. At first they wouldn't allow me to ship to an address different from the billing address because that address wasn't on the credit card account. They sent me an email asking to put the shipping address on the credit card account and to reply back with the phone number of the credit card company, so I did. After a week of no reply, I called them up and they said they haven't received my email and that they would be able to send it out today if I gave him the info over the phone so I did. Now I'm confused to all hell of the shipping. I paid for 1-2 day shipping, the guy on the phone said 3-5 days, and the email he sent after the address was verified said 4 TO 14 BUSINESS DAYS!!! These people do not seem to have any organization/coordination. Even if buy.com has the cheapest price for a product, trust me, don't buy it from them."

"This company is terrible.
The sales person told me the item was in stock. She then tried to force me to get upgraded shipping for $50 extra. I told her I did not want the upgraded shipping and asked when it would arrive via normal shipping. She said 7-10 business days.
I called yesterday to get a tracking number, only to be told it had not shipped yet. I told the service person, who was obviously Indian and reading a cue screen, that was not acceptable; that I was told it would be here end of this week or beginning of next. She said she would escalate the call and I would get an email. I called today only to be told the escalation will take 24-48 hours.
So, now, instead of my computer being on my doorstep on the day promised, my issue will be handled on that day instead. Then I am sure, a week or so later, they may ship it normally and I will get it in 7-10 business days.
I will never again buy from them. Pay the extra money and actually get the item you buy."
"I have had a problem with a product I purchased before but I thought it was just a fluke so I made another order. Well, the last order was a disaster. They do NOT stand by what they sell and if you buy something from a third vendor as I did I was send something else and they refused to send me the right order and Buy.com would NOT do anything to help. "I placed an order for a Flash Drive on March 27. I never received the merchandise. When I tracked it online, it apparently was delivered to an address in another city. There is no phone number for customer service. You must email your concern, which they do not respond. This company is not reputable. "
"Horrible. I ordered a Sansa mp3 player. The item stopped working 1 week after I received it. The item had a 90-day warranty. I e-mailed them just as listed on the product page, no response. No response to 3 more e-mails. I tried contacting buy.com, they totally ignored any mention of the warranty, simply telling me I could not return the item for a refund because it was out of the 14-day return period. I tried explaining that I'm not trying to return it, I'm trying to get the promised warranty. They ignore that and tell me I can't return it.

"I cannot stress enough to anyone reading this, it's not worth the lower price to buy from buy.com. Especially if there is ANY type of problem.
My ordering process was fine. Went quickly and item was shipped within 2-3 days.
The return process was the BIG problem for me. Once a product is returned and received at their warehouse, it takes them 10 business days (2 weeks!)for it to reflect on their website!
They say it takes 5-7 business days but count on 10 business days.
The Customer Service is the worst. Why?
1. HELP people not just read canned responses.
2. Employ people who can be understood and can understand the customer's issues.
3. Wait times. be sure to have a speakerphone and a snack. It's going to be awhile.
4. Just not helpful. They just read their vague policy on their website.
On another issue:
They don't do a 30 day Price Guarantee on their own website. If you buy a product from them andand the next day it drops, they will not give you a credit on the lower price.
I bought a hard drive from them and it was DOA. The hard drive was taped to some bare cardboard then inserted in a bubble ENVELOPE. Some of the bubbles were flat from the shipping process.
Sent it back and have never seen a such a slow process and un-helpful group of CS reps. You just can't farm out your CS department off shore and expect to have good results. The communication between the customer and your CS reps should not be a place where you look to save $$$."
"I placed an order on the 26th of March. The expected shipping was 3-5 days. When I looked 2 days later, it still said processing shipment. I needed this item urgently because of an overseas trip. I emailed and called about this, but they would neither give me a reason why (credit card problem? stock problem?), nor an expected shipping date. Wait three days. When I forced the issue, they finally said that there was no stock, but that there might be in a few days. I told them to cancel the order, which they said I would receive an email in 3-5 days letting me know if it was canceled or not. When I asked why, was there no one who knew, or could tell me, there was no one who knew and no one I could talk to. I asked to speak to a supervisor, which was rejected. I will NEVER buy anything from buy.com."
