"Disappointed with their customer service. I ordered a flash drive on 7/1/08. It turned out
the shipping address was wrong. It was not my
fault. Something was wrong with Google checkout.
I tried to change the address, and was told by the customer service that they could do nothing. Then I tried to cancel the order, and
was told that they could not promise anything. And 10 hours later, I received another email. My order has been shipped to the wrong address. Just can not understand.

"Avoid Buy.com like the plague! I decided recently to jump on the Xbox 360 bandwagon and bought myself a recertified system for a song. It came to about $150 less than retail. *First warning flag should probably have gone off*... since that's roughly half price. Well I thought Buy.com was a respectable operation - so I went ahead against my better judgment.
Within a few days of placing my woe-begotten order, I got the "shipment" confirmation - and fedex tracking number - via email. And every day, I've been checking the website for an update. After days with no updates - I called Fedex.
Fedex guy tells me "we never got it... it's never been in our system." Whaaa? My credit card shows a charge from Buy.com. There's a tracking number. Dial up Buy.com. 20 minutes later, some woman answers. I explain the situation. She tells me I now have to wait 3-5 days for them to complete an *investigation.*
She goes on to say... if they can't find my package, it will take another 2 - 3 days to issue a refund.
OK - so let me get this straight. Buy.com loses my package, and I have to wait another week for the privilege of a refund?! That means, at best, I won't get my refund until about *3 weeks later*. So I say again... avoid Buy.com like the plague!"
"One of my worst experiences EVER with online shopping. With all the new advertising and promotions, I decided to give buy.com a look. I needed a new desktop. I chose was that was "IN STOCK, shipping 1-2 days." EIGHT days later, item was still not in being processed for shipping. I emailed and I got this email in return: "Based on our records, item #206827247 has been delayed in the fulfillment process. We do not have an estimated shipping date at this time. You will receive a shipping confirmation email as soon as your order ships." SO THE ITEM IS NOT IN STOCK. Now the worst part, I tried to CANCEL - what a nightmare. They only accept cancellation requests and will respong to your request in 7-10 DAYS!!!! WTF?! I have never had this problem with ANY internet company. I need a computer now and I must now wait 7-10 days to see if the company will honor my Cancellation Request beofre I can buy from another company. AVOID BUY.COM AT ALL COSTS."
"BUY.COM SUCKS Big time. They cancelled my order twice in 2 days. No Reason has been provided. I also checked with my bank as well as google. There was no problem with the account but BUY.COM says there was a problem. Dang, if they dont want to sell the product why put on their website in the first place. I would not recommend anyone to BUY.COM."
"Buy.Com is a SCAM and here is how they operate:
1- No phone contact. Only via email!
2- The offer a good price to lure you and they promise to ship within 1-2 business days for computer hardware, which is what I ordered (LCD Monitor)
3- A day later, they obtain a tracking# from Fedex, they switch your order to shipped displaying this tracking# and charge your credit card even thu the order hasn't left their warehouse!
4- Four days later, you contact Fedex and they would say, nothing was shipped yet!
5- You submit an inquiry and you get an automated email saying that your "claim has been submitted and it would 3-4 business day to resolve"!
6- 10 days later -- no shipping yet!
7- You submit another claim asking to cancel the order, they send you the exact same reply!
8- two weeks later...nothing delivered and no claim resolved!
9- You endup calling your credit company to dispute the charges!
10- You wait... and wait...and nothing!
Happy shopping at this merchant!"
"Well, ordered a Samsung 2032nw from buy.com after seeing the price was $30 less than newegg. However I saw all of the negative ratings and began to worry that my monitor was going to come broken in half. Or they would take two weeks to ship it out. Well, they took almost a week to ship it out buy I believe they went above and beyond and ended up shipping it next-day air to me for free. The monitor came in perfect condition. They may take forever to ship the product out, but they went above and beyond in my case. Buy.com will definitely get more of my future purchases, but not on things I need right away."
"Returned defective product but was still charged a restocking fee. They said it was my fault that I did not understand their undocumented return policy.
I tried to save a few dollars using Buy.com but it ended up costing me in the end. Do not use Buy.com!"
"First order I've placed with Buy.com, provided credit card details, billing and shipping address the same. I then received an email telling me to fax a copy of my credit card and driver's license to allegedly their fax number. I've never had to do that before for anyone ever and see no reason to give them that amount of personal information. For this level of verification I can only imagine that perhaps they have high fraud levels. Considering everything they sell is available elsewhere I am not going to trust this company with that much personal information if they have security control problems. I will order elsewhere rather than trust them, so have cancelled this one."
"Website states 4965AGN will ship in 1 to 2 business days. Product shipped on 6/25 after being ordered on 6/19. I'm not a happy camper."
"Learn from my bad experience and save yourself the pain. I ordered a 1TB Cavalry drive from Buy.com. It was defective on arrival. They quickly issued an RMA and return shipping label, but that's where it stopped cold. We are going on 3 weeks and they have not given me an update or any response from my e-mails. UPS confirms that the package was delivered, but buy.com still lists the status as 'not yet received'. Just horrible quality and customer service. As I write this, Im out $160 with nothing to show for it. Stay away-- you'll be glad you did."
"A warning about buy.com checkout. As part of the process, there is a window about a $10 rebate on your next purchase. Don't click on it because it will enroll you in something from reservations rewards. That's another company and buy.com will share credit card and contact info with them without your concurrence. Reservations rewards will automatically charge your credit card $12 a month for their service without your specific authorization for an "third" party sale."

"Bought a sandisk 8gb usb flash drive from them, skipped out on some other ones since I had gotten an order confirmation, item in stock and sent to warehouse. I wait an entire week and then they send out an email saying they don't have the item because of some supplier issues. A simple search of their website shows the item now in stock with 1-2 days shipping. They spam this stupid deal on their newsletter sucker a whole bunch of people into buying from them over their competitors then refuse the honor their deal. Worst retailer ever! I will never buy from them again."
"Bought a SanDisk Cruzer Micro U3 8GB from an email ad. Nine days later I received an email that the order was canceled and the item "is no longer available from that supplier." The same sku 205147212 can be ordered off the web site for nearly double the price when I received the cancellation email. It is listed as in stock, shipping in 1 or 2 days. Ignore Buy.com's email ads, this is the second time I was suckered by a deal they don't ship."
"The worst customer service i've ever experienced with an online retailer.. and i've used a lot of them. I have had very favorable experiences from Amazon and its partners or highly rated ebay sites. This company seems to be good at up-front sales, but just try to get a refund after they ship the wrong product. I've received over 10 one-way emails from this company (after arduously filling in 10+ forms on their www site), and they have not been able to give me a support number callable from Canada (though they do operate here). They keep asking for information they already have.
Laughable - unless you're the customer in question."
