"I was shopping around for an Antec 900 computer case and came across buy.com's website offering $50.00 off your 1st order if you sign up for a revolution card. Seemed like a great offer. I placed an order on 03/20/08 and used a 5% off coupon. Later that evening I received an email stating the item shipped via FedEx Ground. WOW, that's service. Early the next morning I track the package and status shows on truck for delivery. Very exited I wake my wife up and tell her that FedEx will be coming today and to listen for the doorbell. I leave for work at 10:00am and get home about 6:00pm. No package yet. Track package online and status shows delivered on front porch at 9:09am. Nothing there when I left at 10:00am. Called FedEx and buy.com to trace package. 2 days later, FedEx driver confirms that he did leave the package on my porch. I live in a high foot traffic area and carriers usually leave a door tag if nobody answers the door. buy.com doesn't ship with the signature required option so it's at the drivers discretion to leave the package. buy.com says there is nothing they can do, the package was delivered and also, once it leaves buy.com liability has been transfered to the consumer. There is no option at checkout for the consumer to protect their investment, buy.com controls the shipping method and therefor should be held accountable for secure delivery. Saving .75 cents on shipping by not requiring a signature is absurd and not looking out for the customers best interest. The revolution card statement came and there was no $50.00 credit reflected. Customer service says promotion can't be combined with any other offers like the 5% off coupon that I used. Filed a complaint with BBB yesterday. Good times, buyer beware!"

I ordered an item on 4/24/08 that was in stock and would ship within 1-2 business days. 4 business days alter I called to see what was up because it hadn't shipped. Now it was suddenly out of stock, maybe. They sent the item to their "Vendor" and they don't know where it is but might be out of stock and I should call back tomorrow.
Called back on 5/1/08 and was told they might have some, it's processing, it should ship tomorrow, maybe, they think. The "Vendor" has it and they don't know any updates but a supervisor would. They'll have a supervisor call me back later that day.
I called again on 5/2/08 and was given the run around again. Too bad large companies can't have support people that speak english and have enough brainpower to stop reading off a script.
I doubt I'll ever do business with them again."

"I ordered two 2GB flash drives on the 4-22-08 and paid extra for 3-5 day shipping. It shipped on 4-24-08. Still haven't received it and supposed ETA is 5-3-08. Total shipping time = 10 days.
My fiance ordered two bluetooth headsets on 4-22-08 and chose free shipping. They shipped on 4-23-08 with an ETA of 5-3-08. Total shipping time = 11 days.
So basically, I paid for extra shipping, however my memory is arriving the same day as my fiance's headsets. We don't even have either of our products yet so there is still a chance of even more going wrong.
I contacted them 4 times via their "customer support" site requesting a refund for my shipping. So far I've received 4 canned responses. Ironically two of those responses told me to be patient because it can take up to 3-5 days to arrive after the parts have shipped. It is unsettling that they don't have their phone number listed.
My fiance also accidentally placed an order without using Google Checkout and canceled it well within the 30 minute time window, and placed another order. Naturally she has been billed for both orders and has not heard from anyone at Buy.com despite contacting them a week ago.
I'm never purchasing from them again, and highly recommend going somewhere else.
UPDATE - I did receive my memory cards on 5-6-08 bringing the grand total shipping time to 13 days after paying for 3-5 day shipping. Their customer service would not refund my money, or my fiance's, and said that in order to receive a refund, we would have to refuse the shipments and we would get our refund within 10 business days. They verbally admitted to "screwing me" when I spoke with them, but apparently couldn't do anything about it. I will NEVER purchase anything from buy.com again and STRONGLY urge everyone to stay away from them. "

The manufacturer (Gateway) will not honor the supposed 90 day warranty claimed by buy.com since they are not an authorized reseller. Now I'm left with a bad PC and no warranty. Buy.com does not respond to this issue after repeated attempts. Avoid them at all costs. The few bucks you save is not worth the aggrivation in the long run."

The only positive I can give is quick shipping. I ordered a canon scanner model 8800f on a Friday and received it on the following Tuesday. This fragile (so marked on canon box) scanner was NOT re-boxed but instead was shipped in its Original box. The box arrived all scuffed up with two huge punctures on the bottom/side. My new scanner now has a nick on the left top of its cover from one of the punctures. I expected Buy.com to do more than just adhering a shipping label to the original box. In my dismay I have submitted (3) online emails to buy.com stating that my item was damaged due to their neglect and what are they going to do about it. They claim they will send you an auto response 5 minutes after submittal. My first web generated email went out 8 days ago and I have heard absolutely nothing. I check my emails from my internet provider prior to downloading so I can guarantee if Buy.com responded they were not treated as spam/junk emails on my end. Buy.com will not respond to any of my (3) emails. All I get is a Thank-You after submitting the Web generated email and that I will receive an auto generated email in 5 minutes. What a sham, scam, shame I wish I had looked at buy.com rating reviews (1.8) before I purchased. I should have ordered from Newegg which was cheaper (no tax) and has a very High rating over 9. Buy.com charged me MA tax as well, does my State REALLY get this tax or do they scam them as well. I agree with other reviewers that state that buy.com has no customer support. Other than the nick on my scanner everything seems to work okay. My closing statement is "how can any customer return an item when the original manufacturer's box is going to be damaged in shipping to some degree, if it's not placed in a shipping carton. Plus all the labels stuck on it. I keep all my boxes pristine when I buy an item. I still have boxes 35 years old that were shipped from Japan that look new. This one looks like it has been in a battle. KEEP AWAY FROM BUY.COM unless you're buying something you don't care about. The only other purchase I made from Buy.com was Taxcut 2007, perhaps I should have known better since it arrived without being repackaged, just an address label.

"I ordered a Connect3D 2GB Secure Digital Card for $50 that was supposed to be free with rebate, however, never received the rebate. Buy.com apparently honored a few..but when Connect 3D completely folded, Buy.com quit honoring the rebate. They say they are taking Connect 3D to court....wouldn't they save a lot more $ by just reimbursing those who purchased the card? "Wow, buy.com has really gone down hill. Their prices are great but they sacrifice customer service to do it. Purchased a brand new camera on April 1st using a special spend $60 save $20 email I got. The camera arrived a few days later with no padding around it, the camera box was just bouncing back and forth in ups box. When I sent buy.com a letter they said if its broken RMA it. No sorry or anything, also you can't reply to any of their emails cause they all come from this NO REPLY address.
Then a few days later they dropped the price, though their "low price guarentee" doesn't seem to work if they drop their own price nor does it seem to work if you use an email special they sent you. Once again you can't reply to the sorry to bad email because it goes to limbo.
