"Was Dissatisfied with the fact that they would not replace my shirts I ordered. I went by their size chart and the shirt was WAY to big for me. I just wanted to switch to a smaller size (which they said they had in stock). I didn't want a refund just a shirt that would fit me!! I will NEVER order from this company again!!!"

"Although I received an explanation as to why I received a woman's t-shirt and hat as supporting breast cancer which, I do, these items had no indication of supporting breast cancer. If you are going to support breast cancer, put a pink ribbon on the item. If no pink ribbon, then don't send me woman's clothing as a free gift. The response I received was not convincing for the above reasons. I do not do business for free items, however, I am annoyed enough about this that I will have to reconsider any further business with Chief.I put 9/12 as an order date, but it was sooner, but I do not recall the original date. that is when you acknowledged the order. I am still waiting for part of the order. Your service has deteriorated."

"Great web site, easy to navigate. Prices were competitive. My order arrived fast but 2 of 3 items were back ordered. Took forever to get the back order (couple of weeks) and when it arrived it was not the size I ordered. Called customer service and gal was pleasant and helpful. No problem and easy to return. Other than snafu on back order, I'd highly recommend Chief. Overall it was a good experience. I'll order again."

"i'm probably not a stereo-typical chief customer; i only bought from them because they had a maglite xl200 for half-price (on back-order) with free shipping featured on a deal site i regularly visit.

overall my experience was "better than average" as the price was really good (but possibly an anomaly compared to the current price and the price for other products), but i was not kept abreast on the status/shipping of my order (negative), though they did personally contact me when a problem arose (positive).

i received no updates as to when the product would come off "back-order" status. some customers did call chief and were told updated/estimated status (which they reported on the deal website/forum), so why couldn't chief have emailed that same information to all customers. that kind of service would have clearly placed chief above average. due to my experiences with other retailers (eg amazon) ordering back-ordered products with no status updates, i was waiting for my order to be canceled at any time with the explanation that the product was no longer carried.

they did personally contact me when they went to charge my credit card (after it came back in stock and they were ready to ship it to me) and it was no longer valid (due to an unknown/fraudulent charge my credit card company canceled my old card and issued me a new one). i figure a big/uncaring retailer would have just canceled my order without personally contacting me.

i didn't receive my shipping notice email (with tracking number) until the day i received my package, which was 5 days after they received my new credit card number and shipped the package (according to UPS). i'm baffled why it took 5 days to let me know my package shipped, but maybe it was because of the manual intervention of giving them my new credit card number.

chief now sells the flashlight for $44 without free shipping (unless your order is over $75), while amazon sells it for $40 with free shipping, so if i had to do it again at the current price, i would go with amazon.
