"Chegg is absolutely awful. I ordered my books 2 weeks before school started and they sent me all the wrong books. By the time I got to school and realized I needed to return to them the wrong books they sent me, it was past the 21 day limit and I couldn't get a refund for the books. "Bought an Connect access code from Chegg for $75 only to later find out that it'd be $30 cheaper to buy it straight from Connect. I returned it unused and unopened, but only received a refund for $45. Apparently, there is a $5 dollar return fee, but where's the rest? Why is there even a return fee? I'm the one who went to UPS to return it and paid shipping and handling. Why should I pay THEM to return it?

Chegg is out to make as much profit as possible. They sell items for way more than the regular retail price and will still try to make money off of you even if they get their item back. Contacting customer service is also almost literally impossible. Buy your books at Amazon if you think you might want to return it."

Chegg.com is setup in a moronic fashion that leaves the user clueless on how to proceed. Then when you try to call or chat with their helpline, they make you wait for insurmountable amounts of time. "They don't reply on live chat. They don't respond to emails. They don't pick up the phone. My book was advertised as coming with the online code, and while it did, it did not work. I've been on hold several times for several hours. I have homework that I can't complete, because the code won't work. If the issue isn't fixed by sunday, I'll be in big trouble. This is incredibly frustrating."

"I like chegg I sold my book to them and got credit to rent my book for another class, and there shipping was fast, and the books were like new when they cam, I had no problems with them so far.

TIP: if you are looking for a book check two weeks prior to your class because the rental rates fluctuate one week it could 100 to rent for 60 days and the next day it could be 40. so check constantly to get the price you want"

"A friend and I are taking college classes together and we have both used Chegg twice now. The first book my friend ordered was new, but arrived with a slice down the front cover. She used Chegg notification process and they said they woud issue a credit to her account. She never received the credit. I had good luck with my first purchase, but on my second purchase ordered a brand new book and received a very worn used book from a "Chegg Partner". I have also bought books from Amazon, so I guess I will be going back there. No issues when purchasing directly through Amazon. May cost more for some books, but at least you know you are getting what you paid for.

I won't be using Chegg again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone"

"I recently returned a book that I purchased BRAND new and used for one semester. There was absolutely NO highlighting, no corner turns, page tears, or ANYTHING, and they told me that my book was in poor condition and failed to issue payment. They then told me that if I wanted my book back, that I'd have to pay to have it shipped. The book was in GREAT shape and was handled with great care throughout the semester.

"I have used Chegg for three semesters now for my rentals and always had a fantastic experience. Their prices are some of the best I've found (they have DEFINITELY always been lower than my on-campus rental options) and my books always arrive in plenty of time.

Today I noticed they had pre-authorized my card for $1 nine times. I was a little irritated, so I reached out to customer service via their online chat medium and also through Twitter. I did have to wait a few minutes to talk to someone, but it's also the start of a semester and I'm sure they're VERY busy!

I spoke with Nicole via their online chat, who was super helpful and apologetic about the situation. She credited me 15% off my most recent order, saving me about $20 this semester, and gave me $15 off for next semester! That's a credit I'll definitely use, because I appreciate being treated like a human being by Chegg and their support staff.

I highly recommend Chegg to anyone who needs books for class at rock bottom prices and wants to deal with WONDERFUL customer support representatives!"

"This was the first time I have ever tried to seel my books back online. I usually take them to a store down the street, but they would not buy back one of my books, they stated "there was not a desire for it". So I found Cheggs. I just put in the IBN number and it stated that I would get a $95.97 refund, if the book was in great condition. I printed off the label and shipped it. I recieved an email stating that they recieved it, and then another email stating that my check for $95.97 was in the mail. Sure enough, two days later, I got my check!!! This was a simple no brainer though....the plastic was still on the book when I sold it, so it was in immaculate shape!"
