Shipping was ok, came from California, but 4 days wasn't bad. They shipped out same day! I spoke with customer service later that day to get tracking. "I am LIVID with this company. I ordered a new Compaq All-In-One Computer. Paid Express 1 day shipping and got it the next day. The computer does not work. The monitor shakes and is fuzzy. I called them and they told me to call HP/Compaq technical support. I did this and was told it was unfixable and should be returned to Compsource. Compsource is refusing to take it back saying that they have No return policy and I have to deal with HP only. HP says it will take weeks to repair if it is repairable. I am a solo business and cannot wait weeks. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM COMPUSOURCE"
"I ordered a Sony 3D projector and it would not focus correctly. I called them and they said all issue have to go directly thru Sony. So I called Sony and they told me places like Comp and The Nerds are NOT Authorized and that I have to pay for all repairs!!! I called Comp back and they said they will still not swap out my projector. Lesson here, order from real authorized dealers... Now to call my CC company and get my funds back!!!"
"Ordered a pair of Yamaha studio monitors because the price was ~25% less than everywhere else and the site said they were in stock. I received one of them within 3 days but the other had to be back-ordered (I received it two weeks later). Their site gave no indication of the back-order and my e-mails got no response - became concerned. Their phone support was fine however.
Overall I feel this is a legit retailer and I saved $100 in the end. As other reviewers have mentioned however, they don't seem to keep track of what they have in stock. Call ahead perhaps and make sure they actually have what you are ordering. "
"When I found the studio monitors I wanted for much less than even Amazon at this reseller, I was unsure of ordering from them, since I had never heard of them. I took the chance and am very glad I did. The monitors arrived brand new in-the-box as described and work perfectly. When I called to fix the zip code on my shipping address, Jeff gave me awesome customer service. The shipping and processing were very fast. I feel like I got a great deal on these items, and CompSource was on the ball at every step. I still feel stores like Amazon and Newegg are my go-to stores, but if CompSource has the item for less, or if Amazon has it only through one of their 3rd party vendors, I will go to CompSource."
"Good list price, good initial contact, unclear product return instructions, and very poor communication when handling return of a defective product.
I recently purchased a Lenovo H320 Slim Tower - 640GB computer. The delivery speed and order accuracy was good. Customer service from the sales contact was good. In a day or two after ordering, a sales rep sent me an email with their contact information. The computer arrived within a week of ordering. After about an hour setting it up, the computer went berserk and displayed random characters on my monitor. After two attempts at rebooting, the computer couldn't get past the set-up screen. Lenovo's documentation was minimal whereas CompSource's documenation was non-existent. After spending 30 minutes on the phone with Lenovo customer service without much help (Lenovo customer service was extremly poor) and unable to wake the computer up the next morning. I contacted CompSource to return it for a refund. After filling out the online Return Merchandise Authorization form, I was contacted via phone asking for additional information that was clearly optional on the form. After five days of asking for an RMA number and threatening to work through my credit card company, CompSource provided me with an RMA # and very rigid return guidelines and a link to CompSource's return policy where I discovered i would have to pay a 15% restocking fee - I had to ask about shipping and was told to use any shipping method I chose (at my cost).
Bottom line: I've learned my lesson - I will never buy from CompSource again unless they change their return policies and I'll be sure to factor return costs into my purchase decision when buying from any online retailer."
