"This company has NO customer service. My first motherboard order arrived without a CASE and no explanation. That's not a small thing to overlook, we're talking about THE CASE, you know, MID-TOWER COMPUTER CASE. The second motherboard order...well, here are my comments on that one specifically: if everything is PERFECT with your order details, then you'll get your little generic parts for a very low price...BUT, if your order details are not accurate, then the only thing you'll get is NOTHING and a CANCELLED ORDER. My order was cancelled without ANY notification - no phone calls, no emails...NOTHING. I sent them very nice e-mails just trying to get an idea of when to expect my purchase and they NEVER responded over a period of 8 days. I asked them WHY my order was CANCELLED, the lady on the phone said "...there was NOTHING in the notes on why the order was cancelled, would I like to reorder?..." I said "NO, I need a place with at least a TINY bit of customer service, not a place where it doens't exist". So, in summary, if you feel like spoon-feeding them and following up with things on your own and not receiving entire orders, then you'll get what you paid for here."
"The company delivered my product at ordered and on time. However, they did use my phone number to call me to try and sell me an upgrade to my order. I did find that kind of annoying."
"This is my second purchase from this company - the first one went so smooth - no hitches - that when it came down to needing another similar board, even though it was a bit cheaper, I bought from compubuzz because I knew they wouldn't cheat me. "
"I bought a motherboard and processor at this store because they had the best price for an SIS chipset motherboard with an Athlon XP processor."
"Great service, shipping was excellent, products were shipped safely, wrapped proffessionally. All products worked and had my stuff within 5 days."
"Positive! I ordered a motherboard. Received Confirmation Emails. They did call my office to verify cc card info which makes me feel a little better because of all the fraud out there. Item was shipped next day and they sent a UPS tracking number. Item arrived well packaged and new (sealed). I am pleased and would buy from again!!"
"BEWARE!!! We placed an order for a CPU on 1/30/04, and the only thing we ever received was an order confirmation email. On the website, their online status checking showed it to be "processing" for almost 2 whole months.
At first we thought they might have simply been out of stock - happens to the best of them. However, the Compubuzz website still listed the same part available for sale, and as time passed the price fell.
After nearly 2 months of trying we finally reached phone support (after ~20min on hold) only to be told that our order was "probably" cancelled since it "had been not shipped after all this time." No explanation as to why this had occurred. No apologies. Not even an offer to reinstate the order at the (lower) "going rate". To their credit, at least our credit card wasn't charged. If you're looking for good service, look elsewhere."
"Order AthlonXP 64 3000+, Fan, and MSI motherboard on a Thursday, contacted, them Friday and Monday to check if the item had been shipped. Responses both days was that the order would go out that day.
Was called by them to verifiy the order and also asked if I wanted to upgrade the fan on the process so that I would get a 3 year warranty instead of 30 day, which I accepted.
Received an email the following Monday evening saying "We have received your order, and your credit card has been charged, but we are unable to ship your order. The billing name, or address listed on your order does not verify with what your credit card company has on record as your billing information."
Attempts to contact them by email, phone have failed saying they are unable to take phone calls due to a server error.
I have left phone messages but none have been returned.
Have since filed a dispute with the credit card company and will be reporting this horrible experience on all websites that list this reseller. May contact the BBB of their respective area."
"compubuzz has received several orders from me in the past and will continue to receive orders in the future...they do a fantastic job on their assembly saving me much time..always fast service and friendly customer support...an A++++++ company to deal with."
"This is the absolute worst. Wish I had know about ResellerRatings.com prior to stumbling across this orgnization on pricewatch.com.
I purchased a mb/cpu/fan combo and it does not post (don't even beep if you remove the ram) NO COMMUNICATIONS between the components.
Numerous phone calls and unanswered tech support request for rma. Never again!!!"
"An excellent place to find motherboard/CPU combos. I have come back to Compubuzz several times over the past few years of building computers. Thanks Compubuzz!"
"Dear Compubuzz....
Regarding the past three orders from your company, I would like to share the following negative remarks:
On Jan 25 I placed this order
1 x ASROCK M810LMR W/XP 2400 1.93GHz SOCKET A CPU & FAN COMBO $102.00
On Jan 25th I also placed this order
1 x PCCHIPS M811LU W/XP 1700 1.47GHz SOCKET A CPU & FAN COMBO $69.00
Feb 4 this order was placed
1 x XP 2000 266FSB SOCKET A - OEM CPU (1.67GHz) $47.00
Feb 4 This RMA was ordered
Ordered XP 2400 processor and ASRock MB combo. Computer would not post. Thought I had MB problem so I changed all devices including memory. Changed processor to another and it booted fine. Tryed 2400XP in another known good PC and it would not boot and no video. Same as original MB. Therefore I have a bad processor...also what idiot printed my VISA card number on the invoice that was shipped!!!
Feb 6 this RMA was ordered
PCChips 811LU Mainboard, item # MBPC811LU, will not shut down properly, has AGP to CPU controller error, looses Video Card and trys to reload it every time it reboots. Mis-reads memory in slot 1 to 128, instead of the 256 that is there, every few boots. When you turn on PC it does not display video everytime and you have to het the reset button several times or turn off and back on a few times to get video. Tryed 2 different video cards, changed memory and processor, still same problem, went into safe mode and uninstalled video, AGP to CPU controller and reinstalled, after one re-boot it gave errors again in these devices and would not shutdown.
Both RMA's were sent back in the same box to save postage. However, we made a mistake and forgot to list the RMA number on the box so it was returned to us. So it cost us another $11.50 to return. At this point, there is a total of $23.00 in return Shipping cost. And a cost of $49.99 for another MB from a local supplier to meet the demands of our customers.
I got the RMA products back on March 3rd. Last night, the board and processor were installed, only to find that the processor is bad. The receipt that came back with the RMA's had the "tested" circled, to appear to us that they had been tested? This processor, after your company supposedly tested it, smoked as soon as I fired up the computer! It appears to me that I received another bad 2400 processor.
The other board, M810LMR (ASROCK), that I also purchased was placed in a computer and sold. It was returned 2 days later because the computer won't shut down, and the Video flickers! I again had to purchase a board at a local supplier for $49.99.
Since the AMD XP2400+ was returned I had to purchase another processor from another supplier for $55.00.
Wait! We're not through!! The AMD XP2000 processor is also bad!! It only registers 200 frontside bus, and will not boot at all if the MB is changed to 266Mhz FSB!
So we've spent $202.92 in sales to you and out of them we can only use 1 processor!! Doesn't seem like we've gotten a good deal from you. We're a small home based business that builds 10 to 20 computers a month, and since we're small we don't keep a large inventory of parts we order as needed. We can't afford to have money out for long periods nor do we have the time to deal with continuing bad parts.
In summary, the following expenses have incurred:
$202.92 original cost to Compubuzz for three orders
$49.99 to local supplier for another good mainboard
$55.00 to supplier for another good XP processor
$49.99 to local supplier for another good mainboard
$23.00 in shipping costs for RMA's to Compubuzz
And I am left with a bad XP2400+ processor still, a bad 811LU mainboard, bad M810LMR mainboard and bad XP2000+ processor.
I also have a problem contacting your so-called tech support. THEY ARE NEVER THERE! And if I try to call within hours of operation listed IT IS ALWAYS BUSY!
I am asking for a solution to our problem. I would like to get replacements for the bad products sold to me. I do not want to pay your shipping again, since you sent me BAD products the second time then maybe you should charge whoever TESTED this equipment. I would like to hear back from someone at Compubuzz by the end of Business EST Monday March 15th. If We don't hear back by this time then we will assume that you don't care about making good on your products nor your reputation. On Tuesday March 16th I will contact the BBB of IL to submit a complaint as well as Price watch and all the other Technical websites."
"I have never in my 10 year - NEVER - had a worse transaction. Parts arrived late, and when I got them - (I had paid for an Athlon) they sent me a DURON. So what's a man to do? I called them, they pushed me off on some horrible online RMA system that sucks. What's a man to do now? I protested the charge with my credit card company. What's this company do in response? Confuse the hell out of my CC company by flooding them with technical mumbojumbo with false supporting information. For what this company put into covering their asses with fake and misleading documentation they could have just made this right. I'm still so fuming over this that I want to sue - just to make them pay. You're a horrible supplier, Compubuzz, and I hope your facility is stricken by lightning. F MINUS."
"First time purchaser from compubuzz.com. They had the absolute best price on a Pentium4 3.2ghz. Very easy web site to navigate, and the ordering process went very smoothly. I would recommend this site to others."
"Second purchase. Hopefully goes well as
the first time."
