"How bad is this site let me count the ways. First off, i ordered the new asus nforce2 board the a7n8x. The web site offered free 3 day shipping so i went with them only to find out that when i ordered the mobo it was on back-order. Now there is no mention of this on the website. I have received only 1 email from them, and it was a reply to a question from me. It has been over a week and a half now and still no update on when or if the board will come. Please dont order from this site it is terrible. "
"What a joke these bozos are. I bought a computer with an added warranty from them, and I upgraded the processor to the retail version to double protect myself.
First shipment: Computer doesn't work. RMA it.
Second shipment: Computer is returned to me ...in pieces... with a completely destroyed processor. They want ME to get warranty service on it through AMD.
So much for the extended warranty I bought through them. Their support people had absolutely no customer service skills. The fact that I was a customer AND had purchased a warranty didn't even enter into their minds.
I finally gave up on them for a while, completely frustrated with my experiences. Now, a number of months later, I am trying to persue getting my computer fixed (Still under warranty!). They are ignoring my emails.
If you want to take a chance on a cheap price, that's exactly what you are doing - taking a chance. If it works, great, but if your item doesn't work for any reason, be prepared for hell.
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE JOKERS"
"I ordered a XP 1800 Processor combo, and it came in 4 days, which was quick. It also came with cables and a modem, which weren't in the description on the website. I have yet to test it but I expect no problems. I would probably buy from them again."
"Compubuzz knows how to do HONEST business. They are very loyal to their customers and I LOVED THEIR PRICES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! Thank you Compubuzz."
"Had a great experience with this vendor. Best price on my product, and FedEx 3 day to my door for free! How can anyone go wrong?"
"Bought an Athlon XP 1700+ from them. Order was processed in a reasonable amount of time, not right away, but not too long a wait. Shipping took 3 days, exactly what I paid for, and I received everything in *so far* working order. Works fine, pretty painless, would order from them again. The sticker on the CPU was a little stupid, but I took it off once I established it was working. I did have to try hard not to smear my AS3 all over when I had to remove the HSF assembly to take the sticker off."
"Bought an OPTORITE CD-RW from them. Couldve gotten it cheaper elsewhere. That part was my fault.
They shipped it in the original retail box. No covering box or anything. The original retail box, with a LOT of tape on it via UPS. Of course the box is smashed and torn when i receive it via the crappy ass UPS.
Amazingly the cd-rw works. But It's supposed to burn at 40x and my computer and my NERO program says the max is 32x.
This store is a total rip. Dont buy from them unless you are a complete idiot and likes to throw your money away. They definitely do NOT have the cheapest prices.
Try other stores with high ratings."
"I'm not sure if I was just lucky or maybe Compubuzz has really taken efforts to improve their service, but I had NO trouble with them whatsoever. Barebones ECSk7s5a with a Athlon XP 1600 configured correctly with all the proper settings! The MB defaults to a 100 FSB anytime a new processor is installed which makes some XP processors recognized incorrectly. This was fine! Athlon XP 1600 was correctly ID'd, so they had to have spent some time configuring it. Like I said, maybe I was just lucky, but these folks were professional an I am very well satisfied."
"I ordered an ECS Socket A mainboard and an Athlon XP 1800+ processor. Took a little longer than usual to receive an order confirmation. The package got lost in the UPS system, so I called the company and they traced it. Because of that, the tracking number was invalid until a few days before delivery, which was about a week and a half late. Equipment arrived in a damaged box, but the equipment itself was undamaged. I'm not unsatisfied. I did receive my merchandise. But I won't be using Compubuzz in the future. Order with caution."
"I ordered an AthlonXP1800 barebones system with 256 megs of DDR2100 RAM. I was a very good price and I decided to go with it because of the decent rating it has here at resellerratings.com.
The day after ordering it I recieved an email from UPS notifying me that the item was shipped. I was very happy about that.
Everything went fairly smoothly but there were a couple problems.
-First of all, they should TELL you that your barebones system will not come with a CPU fan. I though it was a solid standard that barebones machines come with a fan. I assume that part of the bare bones build was to test if the machine posts, and when this test accured there was a fan on the CPU.
-Second: There is a warranty sticker applied by compubuzz on top of the CPU. This is not a good thing. That sticker will most definately melt and could cause problems no matter what cooler you have on that CPU.
-When my system arrived it was underclocked in the BIOS. The bus was set at 100mhz and the CPU was detected as an AthlonXP 1.15 Gigahert processor. No harm done really, but it is a bit disconcering about the quality of work done to the machine.
All in all it was a great price and I am happy with the purchase. Just keep in mind the barebones don't come with a fan. It had a quick turnaround but the build and testing workmanship was questionable. I've had it for a few weeks now and it still runs fine though."
"Ordered: July 8 (Monday)
Billed to CC: July 9 (Tuesday)
Recieved UPS Tracking number: July 12 (Friday)
Kept checking the website for tracking status all weekend to see if the package was moving, only got this:
Jul 12, 2002 6:02 P.M. US BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED
Which means (from UPS website): Billing Information Received: UPS has received the electronic transmission of package detail from the shipper. It does not necessarily mean that UPS has taken possession of the package.
It is now July 15th, Monday, and I am still "Waiting on them to scan the package in at the UPS facility because it has left our warehouse and there is nothing we can dao but put a Tracer on it." If I had to guess, they haven't sent out $#!t yet, though that might be the pessimist in me. I will follow up this post, but I'd thought I just get a warning out there. "
"I purchased an ASUS motherboard (A7v266-E), an Athlon XP 1500, and a Volcano CPU fan. This was an emergency purchase so I paid 47.60 for overnight shipping. The next day I had not recieved my product. I called Compubuzz only to find a series of unorganized phone menus (which were not toll free) and eventually found myself speaking with a woman who was little to no help in the situation. I had my order status checked and I was informed that the motherboard was backordered. BACKORDERED? Why wasn't I informed while I was purchasing the item? Why didn't I get an e-mail? Why didn't I get a phone call? You pay that much for something and they don't even inform you of their inventory status. Then I asked for a refund and the woman said it will take three days to refund my credit card. I said no, I want it now and she put me on hold and made the transaction. WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE? POOR ORDERING SYSTEM, POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT, CAN'T REFUND A CREDIT CARD WITHIN THREE DAYS UNLESS YOU BEG????????"
"Ordered July 1st, item shipped (UPS ground) July 2nd and I received it on the 8th.
The CPU had a half dozen bent pins - I straightened them and proceeded to install - was able to boot to the BIOS "once". The CPU was dead. I returned the CPU and in a week they returned the same CPU stating that it had booted into Windows fine (I've now tried this CPU on 3 know good systems - it's dead). They also emailed me stating that they found the CPU to be good and even if it wasn't the warranty was already expired.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!!"
"Ordered a Athlon 1800XP barebones from them at a nice price with 2 day delivery. Nothing went wrong and shipment arrived on the date I expected it to. This actualy is one of the few resellers that I HAVEN'T had a problem with lately. The only thing I didn't like was no communication untill I received the tracking number(which waswithin one business day of order placement). Just was used to receiving an email confirmation after order placement like most other places do. But I'll take the no hassle, on time delivery over email confirmation anyday!"
"I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the whole shopping experience in dealing with this company.
I feel that I was treated unprofessionally and unfairly. AJ, who I think runs the company, keeps thinking
of all kinds of wonderful and creative ways of why and how the customer damaged the equipment, or that
the warranty has expired on said parts. He could careless about customer satisfaction and customer service.
I called this organization many times to try to find information or talk to technical support and they are never
in the office. What a miserable experience I am sure we will never do business again!
