"I just got off the phone with Geeks. What a pain. I ordered a Dell Latitude Laptop from them a few weeks ago. I received it and had to do over 175 updates with it and install that latest service pack for Windows Vista. I called customer service and was offered an exchange. I had already looked at the website and there were no other laptops in the price range I bought. They did offer a full refund but that meant I was out of a computer and back to shopping again. So they put me through to Tech Support, I spoke to Jeremy. He was not any sort of help. He said the 175 updates were normal and that the computers are only provided with a bare bones OS. In all updates I encountered three crash dump blue screens and I also have a battery problem where it does not charge and does not switch over to battery power when I disconnect the power cord. I also have a stutter problem where as the video, sound and games have a slight stutter in the sound quality and also the pointer sticks. I checked with friends who know more about these issues and they all recommended I upgrade to Windows 7 for my laptop. Jeremy did a good deal of stuttering and complete silence from him on his part. He finally recommended I send the laptop back to them and they would look at it but not guarantee a fix. I made a recommendation of my own and asked if ther would send me the windows update at which point I was informed that I am stuck with this because geeks does not sell operating systems. Phooey on them.. check your website Jeremy. Either way I am out of a laptop.. Thanks for nothing. I am an extremely unsatisfied customer. "

"It is rare to see a company give a refund when they didn't have to. I purchased two geforce 550 video cards, paid the cost + shipping. Good to go. Then yesterday I was surfing their site and the cards were now listed with free shipping. I emailed them, asked if my order fell under the offer. It actually didn't, but they refunded the shipping cost anyway.
What can you say. You rarely see companies do this. Usually it is "I'm sorry sir, you just missed it".
Will I buy from Computer Geeks again, you bet. Would I recommend them, what do you think.

"I ordered a Refurb HP DC7800 Ultra Small Form Factor desktop with a 250GB harddrive. What I received was an HP dc7800 Small form factor desktop with an 80GB harddrive. The customer service agent, Vangie, discovered that they were out of the Ultra small desktop. I sugested that she send me a 250GB harddrive and I will install it in place of the 80GB drive that came with it. Although I would have prefered the Ultra small machine, since it has a much smaller footprint on the desk, I agreed to accept the small machine and the additional harddrive. Vangie was very helpful and made the experience as painless as possible. She is very good at helping her customers to resolve issues. I think that she deserves a raise in pay and she would be a good role model for her fellow agents to emulate.

"I have ordered from them in the past and always had no problems with the products or customer service. This time around, I ordered a hard drive from them. The drive sounds like it is grinding on something, and it is incredibly loud. I have never heard a hard drive that is so loud just for normal operations. It is also getting rather hot almost to the point where it would burn your finger if you touch it, which immediately caused concern for me. I called them up to get a replacement / refund and it was a completely hassle free experience. These guys are wonderful on the customer service end. They are sending me out a return box and RMA number. Since they are so great at customer service and offer good parts, I am definitely going to order from them again."
