"I purchased a desktop from this site and I was really excited because I thought I was getting a great deal. The product description said that the computer had a Intel core i7 processor however after receiving the computer and installing all my software and transferring files, I found out that it had a i3 processor.....huge difference. After returning it and waiting another 2 weeks for them to make a decision...they finally returned my money. I also purchased the computer because they were advertising free shipping....now that I have my money back, the free shipping deal is gone and they won't give me a promo code. Geeks.com is a fine place to shop....IF THEY SHIP YOU THE CORRECT PRODUCT....OTHERWISE YOU'RE SCREWED!!!"

"I've been an occasional customer of Geeks for about 10 years. Most recently I ordered several small items, one of which was defective due to poor design (it sort of works, but *not* as advertised). I complained to Geeks Support, got a suggested fix back which didn't work, so I complained again, and was given a refund. Not only that, but Geeks said no need to return the defective product (which was nice because it wasn't worth much more than postage would have cost). At any rate, I am pleased with the resolution and what could have been an annoying incident instead made me a happy customer.
I was also pleased that the response from Geeks was from a Real Human, not a scriptmonkey or a bot. Without that Real Human, this incident would not have reached its happy conclusion.

"always had gotten good service & the item ordered but this last time..well, they must have had 'new' folks working in the warehouse cause the item sent was not the item i ordered...upon talking with the sales rep, she made it right..was surprised she said just keep the wrong item( it was a heatsink fan) and called me back saying she looked at the replacement herself to see it was the correct item & was overnighting it to me. i believe her though i am writing this tonight & expect to have it in the mail tomorrow...if not will make an addentum but have no reason to believe otherwise. again, was pleasantly surprised by their customer service rep. concerning the first order sent..sorry but 0 stars..re: the way customer service handled/corrected this, 5 stars +
rating their service i gave it a 3 star cause they originally messed up..overall i have, other than this event, always been happy with their service/products so overall 4 1/2 stars! re: cost i marked 4 stars but 4 1/2 would be a more fair rating.(did not see where 1/2 stars were an option.

"I've ordered for years from CompGeeks.com - I've found the pricing and shipping costs to be very fair. Over the years, I've had one or two issues - all related to stuff outside the control of CompGeeks --> issues that occurred in transit.
A box that looked like FedEx put it through a war zone, or a package that went missing and never got delivered. In all cases, I sent an email to CompGeeks, and they got back to me the same day (or the next day if it was late in the day) - either by email or phone, whatever I asked.
They'd reship the item - sometimes by a faster method than what I'd originally asked for, and made it right. Never any arguing, or craziness to go through. They just fixed it - and for me, that's the defining characteristic of a business - how they fix the problems that arise. Because CompGeeks does right by me, I continue to patronize them and give them referrals whenever I can."

"I have only had one problem so far with one motherboard from them out of 7. Even then it was a 90 day direct from the manufacturer so didn't have to go through geeks to get a replacement.Being almost all their products are refurbished anyway most of them have the same policy. And the 15% restocking is basically the normal now (newegg, compusa, tigerdirect ect. same policy). I would recommend geeks to anyone i met if they want something cheap and refurbished always been happy to buy and order from their website."
"I've been buying from geeks.com for a little over a decade. I build PCs and I always go to these guys to see if there are any discounted parts I need. It's exciting because you never know what kind of surplus deal you're going to see from one day to the next. There was only one time (of the 100's of times I've ordered from them) that I received something that wasn't working - it was a hard drive. They tested it, confirmed it was defective and sent me a new one. It was a smooth process and I had no complaints. I can't recommend this store enough, especially for some of the older parts that may not be available on other website stores. My only gripe was I could not figure out how to change my password; I couldn't do it under account settings, luckily they have a website chat service that's easy to use and the lady walked me through it (had to click on "forgot password" < that's the first). Overall, they ship fairly quick, items were always packaged well and they are a solid, no BS store. I'm a customer for life."
