"This was my first time ordering from Geeks. I ordered 2 motherboards and received them in the expected time frame. However, when the first one didn't work, I figured I was in for the RMA nightmare scenario. Surprise, I spoke with an absolute professional with no issues what so ever. They arranged the return, inspected the items and issued a full refund. It doesn't get any better than that. Good job Geeks!"
"both products arrived in a timely fashion well packed and as advertised, nice job as always."
"Great selection of products, with fast and easy service. I have done business with compgeeks several times and have had good experiences each time. I will continue to do business with compgeeks and I refer others to their site as often as I can. "
"Prices and shipping prices are very reasonable. Received the items in shorter time than expected. Items are in good condition and work as expected."
"I will not buy another computer case from them ever again. I ordered one and it came in damaged before christmas. When it came in damaged, I went local and bought another case to complete the project and requested a refund on the rma. So what do I see shipped to me next, another case. When it came off the shippers truck the delivery guy said, check it, because its rattling bad inside. Sure enough damagaed also. So he did a claim and sent it back even before it was in my hands. I sent email to geeks stating what had happened again, saying I want a refund not another case. Again they sent me a case, again its damaged. I give up. My advice, if its in any way fragile, don't buy it from geeks. I'm not saying they sent pre-damaged goods. I am saying that they did not pack it well enough to deal with the abuse that the shippers give the packages. I also wish their returns department would do a better job of honoring the customers request for refund and not blindly shipping more product that will just make matters more costly for the company. So at this point in time I have a new case sitting here with all the front panel hold on pegs broken off. Guess I got an expensive power supply for my troubles."
"the service and products have really went downhill the last few months.
I have been a customer since 2009 and have spent over $500 with them. my most recent purchase was a monitor. they say it shipped on 3/17 I paid for fedex ground service. when i track the shipment fedex says all they have is shipment info. the item is not on a truck yet. I called cust service this morning for status of my item and was informed that it was indeed on a truck by a surly customer service rep who said shipment will not be updated untill it gets to memphis, tn. I live in SE Missouri. stuff goes through earth city MO then here. NOT through memphis!
I ordered a GPS from them a few months ago. it turns out that it is a best buy house brand. the map database it comes with leaves much to be desired. it won't even find state road near me that I take to a conservation area. there is no avenue for a map upgrade other than to take it to the geek squad for an upgrade which I am sure will cost me more money. the web site has been promising a map update since 2009 with none forthcoming yet
I have come to the conclusion that their refurbs are done by a third party and NOT the manufacturer. all you get is the item you ordered in a box with NO user manual or documentation. "
"As always, I received the merchandise ahead of schedule and in good condition. I haven't tested the equipment as yet, but I know that Geeks will stand behind it if there are any problems. Great place to do business."
"I have been with Computer Geeks.com for over 5 years now and i keep going back for their new and refurburished items on sale at prices that are unbelievable at times. Also the quality is utmost i have never had to return an item not once in 5 yrs."
"I placed an order for a 17" refurbished Dell Studio 1737 laptop the end of January. When the package arrived, it only contained a barebones laptop. No battery, no power supply, no restore disks or manuals as promised. After dealing back and forth with customer service agents via email and their curt replies (it was evident they didn't take the time to read what I was telling them), I received a second package containing all the missing pieces but the system restore disk with COA. It didn't matter, with the battery in place and connected to the power supply, the system stalled 2/3 of the way through the BIOS screen and never charged the battery. It was obviously a dud and should never have been shipped. I had to send it back and wait for a replacement. A month after I placed the original order, I received a complete shipment (of course I'd lost a month off my 1 year warranty by this time). The second system has an eSATA port as promised BUT, there's no way to enable it. The BIOS setup says there is no eSATA to enable. Emails to customer service gave no results. I'd have to deal with Dell at this point.
I tired an online chat with Dell only to find they wouldn't help me because the tag number was registered to someone else. I had to fill out a change request but was told it will be another 10 to 15 business days before they can deal with it. I'd purchase external eSATA drive cases only to find out they're not useable with this system.
At this point, I wished I never placed this order and will never again order from Computer Geeks. They're too busy to take time to straighten out a problem order. If you get what you ordered from them and it works, be VERY thankful. "
"On 2/20/2011 at 1:22 pm I placed an order with Geeks.com.
On 2/22/2011 geeks.com allegedly shipped the order(free shipping over $100).
The tracking of the order stated the order had been shipped and should be delivered on 3/1/2011.
On 3/4/2011 I contacted Geeks.com to find out where the order was. I was told to call back Monday if shipment did not arrive Monday 3/7/2011.
Shipment did not arrive 3/7/2011. I called Geeks.com and was told that I should not have used the Fedex/Post option(the option that Geeks uses for "free shipping"), and I was told a whole truck of shipments was "missing" with my shipment included. I was told when I RECEIVED THE SHIPMENT, I COULD SEND IT BACK FOR A REFUND(HUH?). Later I was told a refeund would be processed.
On 3/10/2011 Geeks.com finally processed a refund of the charges against my card.
Obviously a whole shipment was diverted from Geeks.com, and they have no processes in place to proactively send a replacement shipment and/or notify the customer that they screwed up."
"I have bought from Computer Geeks since 1999. This last time, I received an mp3 player that was DOA. I called their customer service line, and a very friendly man gave me instructions on what to do. I was promised ten days in turnaround time.
SINCE-They received my RMA, and now have sent it to the mfr, after they told me they would re-ship me a new one from stock. None of this was communicated to me, and I only received an email confirming receipt after I complained. Their phone line seemed to have man-made interference, and they refused to do the recall as promised.
They broke every single promise they made to me. Communication is awful and deliberately bad on their part. NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN! After 12 years of working with their company, too!
After reading the other reviews here, I am sure I will never get my money back, either. I will also never purchase from RCA ever again, either."
"Their prices are reasonable. The service was fast and efficient. I received what i ordered when they said I would get it. "
"Same issue as Bob1031. I am a first time buyer to Geeks.com and I will never buy from them again. I purchased a 750w PSU and an "Refurb" Sapphire HD 4850 GPU from them and the video card was DOA. The PSU did work but when I checked to see if amps were within spec. The 12v and 5v rails were not only under rated. They were fluctuating. So I odered another PSU from Newegg and installed it without issues. So not only did I get an DOA GPU, I also got a faulty PSU. This was my first time purshasing items from Geeks, and the last. I just hope my RMA for the video card goes smoothy. I chose to buy the Sapphire HD 4850 from Geeks over buying a "New" XFX HD 4850 cause it was $10 cheaper. That was a mistake. I have been buying pretty much all of my PC hardware parts from Newegg for the last 4yrs and NEVER had issues like this. Also shipping took almost 8 days with UPS ground for me. The reason is because they only ship from California. And I live in Georgia. So it has to come all the way across the country to get to me. With Newegg, its only 3 days MAX. Since they have warehouses on the east and west coast."
"This "company" is committing fraud, my experience was with their store in Oceanside, CA.
When I purchased a power supply that did not work I brought it back to the store, they charged a 15% restocking fee which was not relayed to me when I asked the employee about their refund policy before I bought it, nor is it clearly posted anywhere in the store (let alone a business license).
The power supply purchased was an A-Power 850 watt to replace a 600 watt but it was so poorly designed it would not suffice. So I am penalized for the power supply working when they test it? Just go ahead and rewrap it and sell it as new.
To add insult to injury they never provided me with a receipt, their policies, or my refund. They gave me a printout and looked at me dumb and shrugged when I asked is this my refund.
Geeks.con is selling used, cut rate parts, re-shrink wrapped to look new and when they don't work for you they still make their money. They know it wont work and that is why they charge you 15% restock.
This the literal garbage dumpster of the computer industry where the worst of the worst products end up. I would not even consider these third rate components.
If you love getting scammed and ripped off shop here because they make Bernie Madoff look like a saint.
They did not refund my cash purchase, they tell you that you will receive a check in the mail. They dont tell you how long it takes and treat you like less than a number.
This is not a corporation run by people it is run by a computer, it shows in their complete lack of customer service.
They seem to have forgotten that they are selling computer components, what if my client needed to have their computer up and running immediately? Congratulation you have just lost hundreds upon thousands of potential customers.
Fools.con should be their name, if they are owned by a human being they ought to be ashamed in themselves for running such an outright scam.
Remember to never ever purchase from sites that don't allow their customers to review the products.
This place has way too much to hide to be trusted.
I will be recommending to my constituents to have this company federally investigated for fraud."
"Geeks.com stand behind what they sell, I bought a 24 inch blueray computer moninter and was very pleased with the product. Great company to do business with. Will buy again. The product was listed as refurbished, but I can say it looks brand new and the price was very reasonable. Shipping was fast and FREEEE."
