"This company (geeks.com), has he worst customer service I have seen in over ten years of shopping on the internet. Poor quality merchandise. The order in question was DOA, I was left too cool my heels for almost two weeks before I had to contact them to find the statis of this return. I am also out the $9.00 shipping charges to send this "refubished" product back. My request to pay extra for a better card was ignored. My request to compensate me for the return shipping on this defective product was ignored! But they DID send THREE emails trying to sell me insurance on this bad card. Never again Geeks! Oh and by the way, good luck getting your money back and not just store credit!
Webopedia.com defines the term "refurbished" as the following; "In computer technology, refurbished refers to "old" or used computer equipment that has been restored to like-new working condition and/or appearance or computer devices that have been sent back to the factory to fix a flaw".

"Very bad experience. I ordered a Biostar motherboard from geeks.com, was going to put together a computer for my dad. I received a defective motherboard. I setup an RMA, had to ship the board back at my cost. I received an email that they no longer had that model motherboard in stock so they issued store credit, which was fine with me. So I used the store credit to order a Biostar motherboard model #A780L. Today I received a Biostar motherboard but they did not send me the one I ordered! They sent me model #A780L3L, which is not compatible with the CPU and RAM I already have. Today is Saturday, their customer service is Monday-Friday. The geeks need to get their act together. "
"I purchased a gaming mouse through Computer Geeks via Amazon.com. The mouse was advertised as new in box and (to be fair) the price was very good. When the mouse arrived, it did not come in the box, just a non descript sealed plastic bag and it was shipped inside a bubble mailer. The instruction manual that was inside the sealed bag was folded open to the third page (ie not closed to the cover page as a new manual would be). There were a couple gashes /scratches on top of the mouse (that could have been a result of being shipped in something other than its original box - it looks like something heavy was dropped on it).
When I called customer service at Computer Geeks to discuss the situation, (to their credit) I was given the option of either returning the item for a refund or exchanging it for a new one. When I asked about the exchange, they told me they only had a couple left in stock, and if I returned it they may have to send me a "comparable" item from a different manufacturer, but could not tell me which item it would be. When I asked if I could be assured that the new item would be sent in its original packaging they told me that it should be but there were no guarantees of that. I asked them why they sent it to me without its box as it was advertised on their site and I was told they couldn't answer that and that I should call Microsoft (the manufacturer) and ask them.
In the end I decided to keep the item - I liked the item, it appears to be working correctly despite the scratches and I couldn't find a cheaper price, however I was unhappy because I recieved something that was different than what was advertised. Beware before buying that there may be a reason for the low prices as your item could be advertised as new, but actually be refurbished or open box. "

"I recieved my order for an AVLogic mini sports cam and am amazed at the quality of the video captured. Even in less than optimal light it picks up good images. Decent software comes with it, but it is plug and play ready. When I first open the package, I saw an itty bitty camera no bigger than my thumb. I thought I wasted my money and was thinking about a return. I'm glad I tried it first. I may buy a couple more when on sale again and keep on in my car, at the lake, on my 4-wheeler to have access if I need one. I am very pleased with my Geeks order !"
