"Bought an refurbished external hard drive from Geeks.com. I guess the hard drive was refurbished. You couldn't possibly tell as it was in pristine condition. It was shipped as a very very reasonable rate and arrived so quickly I thought maybe I'd paid for expensive shipping. Everything came packaged in a manner that you could have dropped it from a 5 story building and the hard drive would have been fine. I had a question on the operation of the product, sent them an email and they responded within 24 hours with a simple explanation and didn't appear to be talking down to me although my problem was that I didn't read the operating instructions well enough. Got it up and running and it has been working very well since then. I will give them my business without hesitation in the future and would rate them AAAAA or whatever is highest."
"Worst online experience ever for me...ordered 5 wine openers. I immediately tried to cancel but because I was on hold for Over 20 minutes was told the order had already shipped. Talked to supervisor who said I could change order to 2 items. Within a few weeks all 5 showed up with full billing for all. Price was not worth my time or the restock fee to return..but still leaves a bitter taste about this company. Noone ever contacted me after I complained.
I will never buy from them again and suggest others don't either.
Followup: after this review was publicly posted I did get a reply and the company refunded the part of the order I had canceled."
"I have purchased a number of items from computer geeks over the years, and have never been let down by them. I've been building computers for about 2 decades now, and geeks.com makes it easy to get the replacements parts I need, or the hardware for a new build. I recommend them highly and often, and have numerous friends who are also delighted with them."
"In the past this has been a very good company to do business with. Order was shipped quickly and received in good condition as promised.
However on this order I was suppossed to receive free shipping on my order over $99.00. I entered the freeshp code as instructed, but when I finalized my order there was a $21.00 charge for shipping. I sent a comment to customer service, but have not received a response yet.
When I finalized my order I was sent to another company's web site offering free rebates on shipping up to $15.00 for only $10.00 per month. I believe Geeks.com baited me with a promise of free shipping and then switched it at the last second to a third party rebsate service. I have never had a problem with Geeks, however this will give me pause when I look at any future orders. "
"Geeks.com is an exceptional site which I use for most of my computer related purchases. It is my first digital stop for components for upgrading my Frankenstein-esc desktop and because of their relatively low prices, I haven’t had to spend an arm and a leg keeping my computer at tip-top shape."
"Dealt with tech support and it proved to be fruitless called about troubles with router which they sent in replacement for the one that failed. Install wizard states replacement unit will work only with Windows XP and not Windows 7, yet company website advertises it as compatible with Win 7. Tech support once again talked down to me like they do not care. And I also said since I have you on the phone, would you help me with another defunctional product and told them of re-manufacturer's sticker being missing, and broken monitor and his exact words are what do you want me to do about it? So in disgust I said fine then make a note of it and hung up. Eight years with a company and I get this for customer service.... "So I wash my hands of Computer Geeks.com they're history with me". Newegg & Tiger Direct are eager to work with me."
"I just wanted to share some information. I have ordered a bare bones pc kit from ComputerGeeks and thought that it would be shipped from their office to my location but they use a regular courier that gets it to the FedEx Hub, Memphis, first then onward to me.
When ComputerGeeks emailed me to confirm it was shipped day after I ordered, it was nice but every time I would track through FedEx, it says Initiated, Shipment information sent to FedEx...I was like, WHAT? A shipping label has been done, scanned through FedEx but it hasn't left Computer Geeks? lol...anyway, I verified with ComputerGeeks that its the tracking for when it leaves the Memphis FedEx hub. It does give an estimated time of delivery on FedEx but this is the date it arrives at the Memphis Hub.
Anyway, all good now...just waiting for it to arrive now.
I have seen some positive and negative information posted on here as well as other Review sites and only hope that I do not get a bad experience with them.
If I do, I will spread the word like WILD FIRE!
HAPPY REVIEWING!!!"
"The refurbished DVD I received was a great value. It appears though that the item was not reassembled completely, which is frustrating, but not particularly shocking given the price and the fact that it is refurbished. I've purchased several items at this point and I'm constantly impressed with both the quality and value you generally provide."
"Excellent Service!!!
I am a regular user of Geeks.com and have to say that at all times they go above expectations. This time i ordered a prodrive 500gb external hard drive that was a one day sale item. Not only was the price perfect for me at only $39.99 but shipping was a great value at less than $5.00. It even arrived earlier than expected. I would and do recomend Geeks.com to all my friends because of their great products prices and customer service. If you want great products at great prices come to Geeks.com. You will never be dissapointed."
"After posting the report below I was contacted by Geeks.com, and I must admit that part of the problem was in my lack of understanding how to redeem the credit. I will be using this credit today, and I am pleased that Jennifer was able to sort this out.
I have had fairly good luck with a lot of the goods I bought from Geeks, so I can honestly say that my experiences with them have been fairly good
"I purchased a motherboard from this company in March of 2010. It was defective, just like a lot of other stuff I had bought from them. Finally they were to issue me an in house credit, for 42.99, but to this date I have not been able to use the credit, nor have I been able to get a response to numereous e mails I have sent to support."

"this site was pretty good. shipping prices are a little steep and it can take some time to recieve products. i didnt like that you have to print out an invoice copy for them if there's a mistake with the order. i accidentally ordered the wrong thing and since i dont own a printer i was basically stuck with useless products. they also sent me an ipod car charger that should've been but wasnt compatible and is also useless to me.some of their product descriptions are a little vague too."
"Geeks.com usually have good products, but just recently their so called Deals are really lemons, I have ordered a router that turned out D.O.A. and I call them and technical support is sending a different unit to me that is lower in price to fix the situation. Then there's an all in one Dell OptiPlex GX620 package that I ordered and it arrived with major discrepancies like it is missing the re-manufacturers sticker that is suppose to be on the unit and then there's the fact the 17 inch Monitor is D.O.A., the tower fires up and everything else seems like it is working just hard to tell when the monitor is dead on arrival. So far I am not impressed with Geeks.com and will have to think hard about making a purchase from them again or recommending them to anyone else. They're a major inconvenience to deal with when having to call them about a bad product, as the people you have to speak to have the attitude of "we don't care" about it and we'll just send you something lower in price to try and fix the problem, it seems like that is how they like doing business. In all I feel gypped when it is all over with.
(I give them a 1.5 thumb down rating)
I've dealt with Geeks.com for over an eight year period and now TigerDirect.com is starting to look more appealing.
Edit update: Monday 10, 2011 I received a link that suggests I buy a warranty from SquareTrade for $38.00 as if it will cover the problem I have with the re-manufactures sticker being missing. "
"I was able to find what I need quickly. I was also pleased to find it was on sale for a good price. "
"I have used Geeks for over ten years and I have found the products they sell to be an excellent value. I have had few problems with them, but, when I did, they have always been very fair in handling these issues. I always recommend them to my friends."
"Once again I had to contact Geeks customer service about a problem, once again the great customer service staff (in my humble opinion) bent over backwards to resolve the problem to my full satisfaction. (thanks to Rebbecca this time). I am a happy customer yet again, and highly recommend purchasing product from these folks, as they are there for you after a sale is made, not just for the sale (unlike so many others out there). 1 peace of advise (so you don't take it out on a customer service who's fault it is not) Product descriptions are not always correct or complete, call them to ask before ordering if a critical situation might occur, will save you lots of grief."
