"I found a deal on this site, and even though it looked kind of sketchy, I gave it a go. Processing was fast, shipped out the next day, and I had it way before the estimated shipping period (and tracked it easily from a tracking number provided on the site).

Bought a refurb Sansa View and a retail digital picture frame. Both were in perfect condition and adequately packed.

I would easily buy from here again.

"Geeks is the best. I shop several times a year for most all my electronic and computer gear. LCD TVs, PCs, Laptops, Cameras, Xbox, flash memory and PC periferals. Have been a customer for at least 8 years. Great prices. Fast shipping and well packaged. Products always as described and in detail with frequent links to vendor sites or downloads. "The micro mosquito 4 x 4 arrived broken. It was obviously a return that was re boxed. In fact upon inspection of the packaging, the toy was supposed to be secured with twist ties, it was secured with scotch tape. The rear motor and rotor was broken off and missing. The tops of both control sticks
on the controller were cracked off.
Update: Their customer service was responsive, concerned and thoughtful. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that this was an isolated incident.

"Update 12/23/09 Geeks .Com may have problems with their marketing; but their Customer Service is TOPS. They have gone out of their way to work with me to help me get what I needed.
I believe they want to keep our business.

I just received a K8MC51G mother board w/ processor and fan in the mail today. Missing was mother board documentation and driver software, and the I/O shield (that thin sheet of metal with the cutouts which installs on the rear of the computer case).
Beware ! Not all motherboards are shipped with these "frivolous extras"...
I suppose I should say "thank you Geeks.Com for the business lesson to read the site ad description VERY CAREFULLY next time.
Oh, I was given an RMA number to return the useless MB and memory back to Geeks.
Meanwhile, I'll continue to peck away on my olde slowe Linux PC.

" The most apathetic online store I ever encountered, period. Avoid them like a bad disease.

I bought an A-power PSU. The thing was/is junk. The first one blew up in less than 3 weeks. I got a replacement. All was fine until 4 months later when the second one blew up. They fully expect me to pay to ship it back to them just to receive the same piece of junk. No refund, no credit, no exchange for merchandise just pay to send it back so we can screw you for a third time. Not going to happen.

"You should be VERY careful ordering from this site. They really hit you on shipping. Check areoud first. I ordered a 8MB touch screen player. Very, very cheaply made. As with most items on this site you can find them just as cheap or cheaper. READ the fine print Very carefully. Most of the products they sell are JUNK. I am teying to return the item I purchased.
I must admitt I have never had any shipping issues except the fact that you must pay for return shipping at your own cost.Overall I will not do business with this site anymore.

"This refurbished xbox died just after the 90 day warranty ended. Geeks did accept it back and it cost a fortune to send from Philadelphia. I found out after returning it that Microsoft would have repaired it for nothing--but it was too late--it was in their hands. I foolishly thought that they would have it repaired and have it sent back to me, but no dice. They have no more xboxes and no ETA about when they expect any. They gave me a store cedit which is useless to me--I've ended up with NO Xbox and NO money to replace it through another vendor. Not a very Merry Christmas for me and apparently for others who use Geeks. I've purchased other items from them with no issues. But now I am REALLY DISAPPOINTED with this company and don't recommend it for people with limited funds.

Feel like I am a personal friend of Kristopher. I did receive another xbox 360 plus a couple of bonus accessories to lessen the impact of the money I spent sending the broken xbox back to them. Unfortunately, the second xbox did not work, either. Kristopher sent me a lable to return that xbox to them and I received a refund to my credit card. Kristopher is easy to work with and understanding. But think that its a roll of dice to buy a refurbished xbox--if you have the money, buy a new one.

"Dear Geeks.com,

You must be a bunch of crazy loons who run geeks.com. I never sent
anything back, I've been patiently waiting for my package to arrive.
According to tracking info, it would arrive any day from Dec. 8 to
Dec. 11. But yesterday (Dec. 9) I got your weird message about the
return of my package WHICH NEVER ARRIVED IN THE FIRST PLACE, and you
will credit me $29. Well, for another thing, the amount is $37, not
29. And you damn well better give me a COMPLETE REFUND, 'cause no way
am I gonna accept "credit" from a store I never want to do business
with again.

Don't you also know that no one can register with your store? You
never send a confirmation e-mail, w/o which a person cannot complete
registration. I tried that last year, and when I couldn't sign in
after registering (because you failed to send that last-step email), I
wrote you this problem...and you never responded. Again , I tried two
weeks ago...and once more you failed to complete my registration
because once more, you didn't complete the process with the confirming
email. The *only* way I could register, as it turns out, was to make a
purchase of one of your items via Amazon.com.

I hope you lost a lot of potential customers because of your sloppy
and irresponsible treatment of customers...you don't deserve their
business. You can be sure I'll post a negative comment about you at
reseller ratings and various other consumer sites, including the BBB.

I'm sorry I ever wasted my time or money with geeks.com...I never will
again, nor will I ever recommend you to anyone. Good riddance.

"I ordered a refurbished 20" monitor. It didn't work out so well for me. The monitor looked like they dragged it to be behind the truck. packaging was in place so they just sent it to me like that.

I have no idea if it worked or not. The cord to hook it up was a two male end coord and the monitor was a male end as well so I could not even try it.

But I called them right away and they sent me the RMA immediately and I got it shipped off the next day. They said they would credit my account and if they do what they say I will use them again. They should get it back on 12/4/09 so we will see.

I would say their quality control could use some improvement. What I got should have never been shipped in that shape.

"Updated 12/15/09: I was contacted by telephone by Kris, who sorted things out and offered to refund me the original purchase cost plus the extra return shipping costs I had to pay out-of-pocket. Apparantly things were not handled as the should have been. I'm happy that this has been resolved. I'm giving Geeks the benefit of doubt that this was an irregular experience and raising my former rating to 4 stars.

Buyer beware. On 10.21.09 I ordered a motherboard from geeks.com because it was cheaper than my local options. I received the package quickly via USPS Priority Mail (the S&H fee thru geeks was $15.44). When I tried to use the board I discovered it was dead. I contacted customer support. On 10/29/09, CS emailed me incident #319008 and issued RMA #G230598 and instructions to return in original packaging. RMA was not prepaid, so I had to take time out and make a special trip to the next town to send the box back to geeks via FedEx because to send it back through USPS would cost $35 and according to geeks, because I live in Hawaii, I'm responible for all return shipping costs. I figured I didn't read all the fine print, so fine, I would just do it. I really wanted my computer up and running.
On 11/13/09 I received a confirmation of receipt from geeks and was notified I could check my account status on the website.
On 11/23/09 I saw on the website incident report that a "suitable" replacement was selected (the original board was out of stock). I wasn't certain the replacement would work in my computer so I left a comment via the incident log.
On 11/27/09 the replacement arrived via FedEx. As I suspected, its a motherboard I cannot use. The board I originally ordered had a PCI Express port. The replacement board they sent me as an AGP port. I emailed customer service and received another RMA (#G234138), again NOT prepaid. So now I have to pay to ship back ANOTHER board that is wrong due to their error. I will have paid shipping costs 3 times for a $20 motherboard. I should have just bought a board locally and had my computer up and running a month ago.

"I purchased an Xbox 360 Elite from Geeks.com and boy was that a mistake. Within 45 days it died. Since it had a 90 day return policy I thought all would be fine. I got a RMA from them and was told that I would get a refund in the form of instore credit. Looking at their site I noticed that all xbox consoles were "out of stock" and to this date they still are out of stock. I wanted an xbox console not misc. electronics. I shipped it off and have not heard a thing from them. I have emailed, nothing. At this point I have no Xbox, no money, no credit. I am at this point ready to log a complaint with PayPal which means that I will not get anything for weeks if not months. At least others got something, I'm beat out of $211.99 shipped for now. I will get my money somehow! Buyer beware."

"Update 12/4/09:
After posting this review I was promptly contacted by 'Kris' via phone and by Geeks support via e-mail with an RMA# and Incident#. While this was way late and at this point fruitless since I tossed the defective component out months ago, it is nice to see a company that takes these reviews seriously. Because of that I'm going to give this company another shot and update my review.

Original:
I have made several purchases with this comany over the course of 7 months. Great prices on many items so long as you read the fine print and know what you are getting.

However, their communication/customer service is where the sacrifice is made for those low prices. I ordered power supplies, hard drives, motherboards, and a few miscellaneous items (About $650 worth) over the course of several months for midrange PCs I was building. No hitches or hiccups; items were received in good time (not great) and arrived as described. The last order I placed is just that, my last order.

I received a Logitch 650watt power supply that was intermitently shutting down or rebooting within the first day. The warranty seal also looked like it had been previously tampered with. When I contacted Geeks via e-mail (twice) for an RMA number so I could get a replacement, I received no response or even acknowledgement whatsoever. That was the first time I had ever contacted their customer service department and it will be my last. Geeks no longer receives my business. If a company is doing business on the internet their e-mail communication should be priority. I could have called but that's not why I like buying things on the internet (conveniece).

Newegg and Tigerdirect have stellar e-mail communication and that is where ALL of my business for online electronics is going now and in the future.

Computer Geeks/Geeks shoppers beware, good selection, good prices, poor customer service/communication.
