"Buyer Beware. I purchased an xbox 360 for my son. It failed during the warranty and they refused to replace it even though it was in stock stating I would need to repurchase at an additional $10 and I originally had free shipping and was told they would not pay for return shipping so they sold me a bad product and made me pay $30 plus return shipping to replace it. consider a local retailer before getting a long distance rip off.
FYI. the saga continues. I paid the extra money and received a replacement system. It also has the same exact problem. They refer to it as the red circle of death on the xbox blogs. after the obvious arguement they finally agreed to pay for return shipping this time. I definately feel like a sucker by doing business with this company. Im out just shy of $300.00 and still dont have a working system yet. "
"At first I had ordered a GPS and they had sent the wrong one. I didn't mind since they were the same price and had the same features. But then it didn't actually work. I sent it back and received store credit. Later I use that credit to purchase a SATA NAS. They sent me an IDE NAS instead. I sent three emails to get it returned and never got a reply back. Seems like this store is nothing but mistaken orders and sloppiness."
"the folks at computer geeks really know how to treat a customer, no matter how big the bill"
"I purchased a Asus G50Vt-X5 Core 2 Duo P7450 2.13GHz from Geeks.com and so far I'm relatively happy. I've only experienced a couple of problems. First, the computer system says it's a P7350 2.0GHz that is installed in the computer. A little bothersome, but nothing to cry to much about. I purchased this computer more for the Nvidia 9800M GS more than the processor. The other problem I have experienced so far was that the HDMI input is not working with my TV. Is this the computer or the TV or the HDMI cable, not sure yet. I have not contacted the store about any of these problems, so they are unaware. Outside of these problems, Computer is quite nice. I've ordered a few things from Geeks and I've only had a problem with a DVD recorder that did not operate when I received it. They promply took care of the problem, sent item back on their dime, and received store credit for which I bought this item. I also bought a 32" TV from them that I have never had 1 problem with. Actually I love it."
"I purchased a Samsung clp 300 printer. It overheated dangerously. They sent a replacement that didn't work at all. The overheating on the first unit disappeared so I kept it (needed a printer, it had been weeks of waiting). A month after the 90 day warranty expired, the whole unit stopped functioning (imaging unit failure). They promised a "warranty exchange" but when I shipped it back to them at my own cost (more than half the price of the unit) they refused to repair it, saying it had been damaged in shipping. They returned the non-working unit; it came back completely pristine, no other damage whatsoever (other than the broken imaging unit). Customer service was rude and short with me. The whole experience was beyond dissatisfying."
"It gives me pleasure to write this review. Some time back I discovered this business and placed an order for two of those devices which hold 100 CD/DVDs in a cake dish where you actuate a switch and on disc drops down. To my amazement I discovered that they were selling for one third of the price that I paid for four of them from another supplier. This is for the same product, not a similar one. Feels terrible to be gouged that badly.
Geeks.com sends out a lot of sale emails and on July 2 I received and email which had on it a Home DVD player for $19.99. I figured that, for that price it couldn't be much. To my surprise it was great as was next day delivery. I don't buy a tremendous amount of computer stuff but if the need arises I will give this company serious consideration. Very pleased with this company."
"Perfect. Web site allows easy selection, good choice of products, and timely delivery."
"I ordered a new hard drive, but received one that had already been opened. I immediately called customer service and asked for a replacement. They refused, but said I could return the drive, but would be charged a restocking fee. They said that an open package did not necessarily indicate that I was sent a used drive.
I had little option but to install the drive. Unfortunately, as I suspected, it was faulty. I then had to wait 3 days (due to the long 4th of July holiday weekend) before calling customer service again to request a replacement.
They agreed to provide me with an RMA number, but only offered a free return shipping label after I complained about having to pay the cost of shipping. They also would not send out a replacement until after they received the faulty drive and processed the return. Again, I complained and finally they agreed to send me another drive. However, I later learned that they charged me for this drive. Also, they did not ship out the replacement via express, but instead, sent it via FedEx Ground.
Finally, the new replacement arrived, in new condition. They received my return, and have promised to credit my account, but I must wait another 2 weeks for the credit.
Overall, I'm less than thrilled with the experience. I will probably think twice before ordering from them again. "
"Ordered a FIC Samba Pentium 4 Refurb computer no O/S no HDD 256Mb RAM + 2 sticks PC2100 512Mb RAM. RAM would not work so emailed Tech support and got RMA number. I did not want to RMA and replied just want to know correct type of RAM as no documentation was enclosed. Never heard from them again . Subsequently ordered a HDD and 1 stick PC 2700 1Mb RAM as this info was on the RAM installed. Once again computer failed to boot with the add on RAM. Sent query to Tech support again on July 3 and still have not heard from them. Also tried to reach by phone but after 53 minutes of same your "call important" blather, a toll call no less gave it up. Through a lot of of research I was able to determine that my system motherboard required non ECC non registered RAM which I got from another source and no more problem. Geeks prices are great but their support sucks. I wasn't trying to return anything just wanted a simple answer but question was ignored.
On July 16 I was contacted by Geeks.com both by email and phone and they went out of their way to resolve this matter to my total satisfaction."
"Failed to mention East Coast shipping policies/procedures in any shape or form on their website or subsequent emails. Also an 800 number would have been nice to call to learn of their shipping procedures. Failure to supply me with information necessary for my piece of mind will keep me from shopping with this company in the future regardless of how cheap the price is. Cheap price, cheaper service.
A note about the shipping of east coast products to those choosing ground. You'll get a tracking number with fedex's estimated delivery date. I really like fedex shipping I've always gotten my packages on the est. delivery date. However this time was not the case. Geeks.com sends your package to a Fedex sorting center in Memphis TN which is 4 days of transit before an origin scan is even in tracking info. Then your est delivery date changes. Also a note for geeks people: cut out the extra transit time by tendering all packages to fedex personnel at your warehouse location. Your customers products will reach them faster in the continental U.S.
Had fedex taken physical control of my package on the ship date I would have received it by the first est. delivery date. "
"Had an issue with one item that I had bought for my son's birthday. It had been 3 weeks since I had bought it to the time I gave it to him, but still had n problem getting the item exchanged. Great customer service."
"I purchased a refurb Soyo 22inch DVI LCD MT-NI-DYLM22E6 at the end of April for $100. After receiving the LCD I noticed it had a line of 6-7 stuck pixels as well as a few stuck or dead pixels here and there. I returned this LCD and received a replacement same model with near exactly the same issue. I returned this one also, and discovered today, 7-7, I am being sent a replacement that not only does not meet the specs of the original LCD. 5ms instead of 2ms, not a big deal really, but it also doesn't even have a DVI input. View Sonic Optiquest Q2201wb.
I've now been without my purchased item for 2+ months, and at this point likely wont bother trying to return another LCD. However I am very unhappy with this whole process, and will not be a Geeks customer in the future! I would have appreciated Geeks running an alternate replacement by me before sending it. I'd much rather have got my money back as promised after the second return so I could just spend a bit more and purchase an LCD at an other retailer, with similar specs and a DVI input!
Update. They stopped the shipment, and I managed to get a refund after posting this. I was too burnt and tired by all of this to press for more just having my money back is a blessing at this point. I however still feel as if I wasted two months of my time and am still out shipping from the first bad LCD. Make your own judgments on geeks.
Update #2 I still have yet to see the promised refund. It looks like my geeks account is credited but I have yet to see the money in my paypal or bank account.

"As usual, The item shipped by Geeks.com was recieved very quickly and just as important the item, VAH-200 was what I expected. One of the main selling points I appreciate when dealing with Geeks.com is the orders are NOT filtered through PAYPAL. I appreciate dealing on a customer to Vendor direct relationship. Geeks.com is where I look FIRST to meet my needs!"
"este review esta dirigido a los clientes latinos geeks tiene buenos precios en los productos y como extra todos los dias tiene ofertas increibles"
"I have delt with Geeks for a very long time, way back from 1998, when they were still affiliated with some online computer auction sites. Over the years I have bought over 10,000 dollars of product.Best of all was they actually backed me up on a year old computer warranty even though the manufacturer was giving me problems.Geeks made it good and I have bought from them ever since. Lately they have changed there formats, but have not lost their customer care attitude in the process. Even when a mistake was made on a purchase, which by the way was my error, they still took care of me in a very professional manner. They don't always have the best prices, or the best shipping costs. But on average are as good, or better than most others. Even now I have spent the last 3 hours serrching for the deals I want tonite. And in the end Geeks got the buy. My only wish is they would do a better job on the shipping costs and options."
