Horrible! Never use Costco. Com

"I've been a Costco member since 97. Their customer service has greatly deteriorated. Employees are rude and not trained well. I recently orders 2 items online the week of cyber Monday. While I realize certain items could be delayed to the Holiday season, the wait time for 2 of my items was ridiculous. In fact the shipping number order stated both items were delivered, but in fact only one arrived! I contacted Costco.com and 2 ladies were rude and both stated I could only receive up to a $10 credit for my inconvenience. I spent over $50 on the total purchase. I canceled the item that had not shipped yet. Then I went into the store to inquire about getting a $6 rebate on an item that recently went off coupon both online and in store. The front end manager said no and also called the manager upstairs who said no. Wtf!! I said what is the reason ypu will not honor my request?? The item was on sale online and in store and still hasn't been received by me. Plus the refund takes 3-5 days to take effect. This is bogus!! If Sam's club had not closed locally, I would cancel my membership asap. Do not use Costco.com!"

Wedding ring a lemon

"Very bad quality in my very expensive wedding ring. My 3/4 K center stone loosened twice in less then 6 months and 2 stones in band including what I had to pay for sizing . Had to pay to have it repaired which was not cheap. I have a wedding ring I cant wear. Will I recommend your jewelry? Absolutely not. I advise against it."

LG fridge delivery made me so stressful and the handles are in the wrong way....

"I am a long time Costco member and was always thinking Costco has great service in terms of product and return. However, I changed my view totally recently when had my fridge delivered to a condo. The fridge has the wrong way to open and I was told to contact LG to reverse the hinge...and was told once the hinge is reversed there is not warranty anymore. The delivery company is Metro to Home.

I contacted costco indicating the time slot for elevator is very precise(3 hours window) before I placed an order to buy a LG fridge for my condo. I was certainly assured by the costco rep that the delivery company was very friendly and they will adjust the time frame accordingly one day before the actual delivery. However, when I got a call from the delivery company, I was just told about the time to be delivered and there was no way for me to ask for a slightly time slot change (from morning to afternoon) for the first delivery. I had to call for the second delivery, and it was scheduled to 12-3pm today and then i booked the elevator again for 12-3. However, the delivery guy called me at 10:30am this morning said they were close and would be delivering in about 20 mins. I was so panic as I was not sure if the elevator was available in the morning....luckily the elevator was available and the security guy was so accommodating...and I got the delivery done.

In a word, the delivery company is not friendly at all and change their time at their convenience. Plus every time I had to wait for 1 hour to get hold of the rep of the delivery company (I called 4 times so total would be more than 4 hours). It was very stressful and time consuming!

I will never buy any appliance from costco if delivery is needed regardless how good the price it.

Do Not Use Costco.com

"We bought a washer and dryer set on 11/4/19. A few days later it was to be delivered 11/15/19 between 4 pm to 8 pm. It never showed . The next day we got in touch with a Costco customer service manager “ Timothy”. He put us on hold and never came back. To this date we have no clue where our order is. We spoke to XPO the Costco delivery company, and they said their delivery truck was stuck and there was no further word. "

Stopped by on my day off to get tires. After waiting for over 15 minutes (I was the only one)a lady came out to help me, I was told I needed an appointment!! Made an appointment for the next day off (Thursday) at 10am

Horrendous

"I cannot believe how bad Costco online is. First of all, they don't support defective appliances, even1 hour after they are delivered. Costco push you to the manufacturer which takes weeks to determine its defective. Then once they confirm its defective, they take 4 WEEKS to pick the appliance up and give a refund. From the time I purchased a defective Bosch dishwasher to everything stable was 7 weeks. Terrible support all the way through. Go anywhere else to buy anything. "

don't buy anything with an LG mail in rebate

"We are still waiting 13 weeks for a rebate that was promised in 4-6 weeks from the East Peoria IL store and LG for a TV ($472.50) despite trying to access the online, call center, and local store. Horrible experience!"

Not White Glove

"I do not know where to start, we have had so many issues with the purchase of a Samsung French door Refrigerator. The refrigerator arrived very late in the evening a couple of weeks after ordering. Delivery service was polite and quick to work, the removed our front door in order to get refrigerator into our house. Once in they moved old refrigerator to garage, inserted new refrigerator into its place. As they pushed refrigerator into place they left a five inch scratch across my kitchen floor and a hole in my wood floor! They acted as that was no big deal, not their problem.
Tired of having these people in our house we just let them leave. Happy to at least have new refrigerator, waited awhile to let it cool. Went in after a couple of hours and started to put food into it. We went to bed thinking all was well, wrong.
Next morning milk was not cold! It was to warm. The refrigerator was 62 degrees!!!!! Everything was ruined !!!!!!!! Called Costco was told to give them 48 hours to find a service tech. We waited Samsung called us to tell us that there are no service techs in our area. They can not fix our refrigerator, please call Costco warranty service for refund. Called Costco they were very helpful, but wish English was their first language not second. Told Costco would refund money and arrange for pick up of refrigerator. I was to wait 5-7 business days for someone to call me. I waited 8 business days and had to call Costco back!! The gentleman said I should be getting a call from someone that day and I did, finally ! Arrangements made for a week later for pick up!
On the day they were to pick up refrigerator I received an odd call from Miami, someone speaking Spanish and did not seem to hear me. I hung up, thinking it was a solicitor. Ten minutes later I get a call from that number again, this time was told by a man with a heavy Spanish accent not to hang up! He was going to be at my house in ten minutes. Okay?
The pick up people arrive, neither spoke English well but we kept going. I explained 3 times to remove front door because refrigerator is to big if they don’t. Okay okay they said. They took handles off refrigerator, measured it and strapped it on to move it. They did not remove front door as I had repeatedly told them to. They wedged the refrigerator into the front door opening!!! Oh no they realize they have to remove the front door!!!! They proceed to back up and remove door. Then they **** refrigerator on again and take it out. They did come back and put my front door back on. Once they finished with my front door they leave, I went to check door to find that they scratched my door frame. Now I have to repaint!!! Never will I buy anything that requires delivery from Costco!!!

Horrible!

"Staff inconsiderate! She knows i am limping while walking due if my last surgery .
We finished shopping put the groceries in the car and come back to use the restroom. We used the exit door since it was nearest and convenience
for my foot condition . We showed our membership card but she insisted that we cannot go inside using that door I explained my health condition but still insist that i need to go on the other door and go round juat to use the restroom!
What’s the difference? We are inside already???

Be careful with the warranties

"DO NOT BUY Samsung appliances in Costco. A typical life expectancy of a fridge is from 15 to 19 years, with bad luck 9 or 10 years. My Samsung only lasted 3 years and few months. For an average income family, this will be a mayor expense, and your are on your own with the repairs as you only get one year warranty. If the manufacturer is not able to offer a warranty of at least 5 years, DO NOT buy. Most likely they do not feel confident on their products and that is why they only offer one year warranty. Costco should protect their Canadian customers and stop selling American products if they don't want to offer the same warranty that their US customer get. US customers get 5 years warranty, Canadians only one."

"Went to the new Cosco in Okla City last week, and was very disappointed to discover that the 6 lbs. of ground beef we bought was very brown. They had covered the old meat in a very thin coat of fresh ground beef to disguise it. Shame on Cosco!!"

Do not buy appliances from Costco

"This review is specifically to highlight the customer service we received from Costco (the fiasco which is still in process), after the installers they hired botched the installation job which resulted in a broken-down machine. The TL;DR version: Costco customer service is a joke. Although the botched installation was a violation of both electrical and plumbing code and caused damage to 2 parts of the machine (increasing the risk of additional parts breaking down the line), Costco refused to return/refund the unit and asked us to find someone to reinstall it at our own expense. Both the LG repairman and the TNT/Innovel tech who came out to evaluate/do the fix recommended we escalate and get a new machine. We escalated repeatedly and then escalated some more, to zero effect. Do not buy appliances from Costco, or arrange a trustworthy installer.

• We bought a dishwasher less than a year ago (October 15 delivered/installed). Took excellent care of it.
• The installer botched the installation. Did not properly install the high loop (water was going back into the machine – a plumbing code violation), and did not put in a junction box (an electical violation).
• Dishwasher stopped working (ie, it ran but nothing was getting properly washed). The LG repairman who came out to the house identified 2 issues with the installation (noted above), and 2 broken parts in the machine, including one of the motors. He also said (but didn't record in his report) it is very possible that the reason the machine broke was due to the installation, which means it is very possible that other parts would break in the future, and recommended seeing if we can get a new machine instead.
• We have spent multiple hours interacting with Costco on this,and escalated repeatedly about as far as we could.
• After additional contact, Costco asked us to get quotes for other installers (because we were out of the 90-day return/refund period, they did not want to use their own) to fix the machine and then they would compensate us $150. So in other words:
o We were to spend our time deciding who is competent and getting quotes, then paying out of pocket
o They would compensate us $150 (provided someone could do it for $150, otherwise we were to call them back to discuss "options") after this was done
o A separate visit from the repair person to fix the actual broken machine was of course still also required
• To add insult to injury, Costco implied in a phone call (but we didn't catch that it was not in the email) that they would be doing the replacement and we only need to look for an installer for this new unit. The next time we managed to get a manager on the line, it turns out they were never offering a replacement. This means we may be doing this dance again in the near future.
• We escalated, repeatedly, spending hours on the phone. A more senior manager up the chain agreed to find an installer for us, and to transfer the money in advance. That's when we found out they weren't planning on replacing the unit.
• We escalated again, 2 ways - Costco went back to the installer and asked for a refund, since this was their fault. Via a third party, Costco asked LG to replace the unit (here is where they passed the buck and said LG chose the installer – per the senior installer that came out, that is not true). Both the installer and LG refused to provide the refund or a new unit. The Costco customer support manager I spoke with said this was "standard procedure".
• When the TNT/Innovel senior installer came out to do the fix, in his words, which he did not commit to paper despite our request (so as not have his company come after him): "That's a lot of work on a brand-new unit. If I were you, I'd raise hell. Sears would replace the unit. Costco is a whole other ballgame". Of note, while we communicated repeatedly exactly what was wrong with the unit, this was not even clearly shared with the installer.
I guess the moral is buy Sears, or pretty much from anywhere else.

Kirkland Macadamia Nuts

"I love Macadamia nuts and often buy Kirkland. They have always been in a can with a plastic lid. Recently I could not find their cans and realized they now come in a plastic bag. So I bought some and am sure disappointed! They taste stale and seem to be a lower quality. That's the last purchase of these from Costco. Where is your quality management people? Didn't anyone check out this new packaging and taste the contents?"

Horrible

"I ordered a washer and dryer on 2/3/19. They charged it to my Costco Card on 2/6. It was supposed to be delivered on 2/7. Not delivered as promised and no call. Next delivery was supposed to be on 2/12. On 2/11 they called and promised delivery between 8 and 12 on 2/12. Again they didn't show up and no call. I called Costco and they told me the next available date was 2/15. I said that was not acceptable and asked to cancel the order and get a refund. I was told that would take 24 to 48 hours. They would not let me speak to a supervisor so I finally had to agree. They called on 2/15 and said they were on the way with the product. We told them no it was cancelled. I called Costco again and they told me that was fine. Still waiting for my refund and it is the evening of 2/15. Ordered a washer and dryer from Lowes the evening of 2/12 and it was here by 9am on 2/13. Lowes didn't include the plug and free hook up and disposal of the old machines so if I could have gotten delivery from Costco it would have been a better deal. The key is if I could get them to deliver.
