Poor online customer service

"The chat below says it all. By the way, they said they would email the chat but they didn't (not in spam folder either). Good thing I copied my screen before signing off.... Hope they don't waste your time like the online folks wasted mine. This is my first poor experience with them and hope its my last. Been a member for many, many years but nothing like this prior.

Stacey: It does not appear to be my credit card so I can't understand why my order was cancelled and your email notification does not even list a reason?

Stacey: Always been a big fan of costco but shouldn't take this long to ask why an order was cancelled. In fact shouldn't has to ask period, it should be on your folks email when you say it was cancelled. Just wanted you to share with your manager

Stacey: What is wrong with the shipping address?
Shyann P.: I do see you have shipped there once before, the order accidentally went through. We are unable to verify this shipping address so we are unable to ship there.
Stacey: They address is correct so why would you cancel it. Please reinstate my order and ship to that address
Stacey: Also you would have confirmation that they last shipment was received there???
Shyann P.: I do apologize we are unable to ship to this address, we are unable to verify recipient at this address. The previous order that had gone through was by accident. We are not able to ship to this address.
Stacey: WHY? Please look it up and you'll see its a large apt complex. I do not want to have to drive this over to my son's place. Why can't I ship it to him there. Amazon and other places ship to him. What's wrong with his address?
Shyann P.: Costco.com is unable to verify the recipient at the shipping address as to why the order was cancelled.
Stacey: What does that mean?
Shyann P.: We are unable to ship to address if we are unable to verify.
Stacey: How do you verify a recipient?
Stacey: Would you like him to call you, what does that even mean?
Stacey: Can you let me know what time this chat started and could you ask your manager to please join you
Shyann P.: I do also see that this address is part of the University housing. We are not able to ship to these types of address as we are unable to verify recipients at these types of addresses.
Stacey: again I don't know what that means. How do you verify me or my wife at our house vs my son at his house? Please let me know what time this chat started (asking again) and please let me know you have shared with your manager
Shyann P.: We can only ship to residential address and sometime businesses if we can verify. To verify at residential address you will need to be at the address for 30-90 days to be verified.
Stacey: so he has not lived there long enough is what you are saying? Please send me the time this chat started and that you have included/shared with your manager

Beware agreeing to any home deliveries

"My wife and I decided we needed to purchase a new mattress. After some searching, we decided that a Costco online purchase seemed reasonable. We'd always had pretty good experiences with local warehouse purchases. What followed was anything but pleasant. The shipping was delegated to a company called JB Hunt, who were very unpleasant when I inquired of delivery time. That company, in turn, handed the job to another couple of guys who are employed neither for Costco nor JB Hunt. These guys destroyed one of a valuable pair of imported wall lamps in my home, and damaged the wall and floor in the process. After nearly one month, I have yet to see any sort of compensation for the damage to my home. No effort was made even to return to inspect what they'd done, and no inquiries were made on whether I might need help in repairing the wall or floor damage. Many emails were sent by someone at Costco to inquire about whether I'd gotten paid, but the insult added to this injury is that Costco continues its relationship with JB Hunt without any changes! On top of this, the delivery guy who damaged my home got my phone number to call me to complain that I'd made the claim against the delivery company! "

Costco online Auto insurance SCAM

"As a Costco member I got quote for Auto insurance on Costco website and was redirected to Ameriprise, Effective date: 09/17/18, 6 month policy $2,947.00 and was charged $616.40 on same day, few week later i received a letter stating that they reviewed my policy scheduled to expire on October 25, 2018 due to driving history not meeting their guidelines, after that another letter came stating that there will be charge in the amount of $965.14 on 10/17/2018 for policy term 9/17/18 -3/17/19, then I got another letter stating: "You recently received a notice of pending cancellation of your policy. Please disregard that notice. Your policy will continue in force with no lapse in coverage.", So I called Ameriprise and asked them to cancel my policy because their new price is way to high and I've got a quote from other company and will switch to them. I called them on October 16 and asked to cancel policy next day, than I received notification that my Credit Card was billed by Ameriprise in the amount of $965.14, so I called Ameriprise again and asked about a charge, and their customer service rep told me that it's a valid charge, and they are not going to refund it, so I was disputing this and in the end they told me that they will refund me $290.63. So for one month of coverage they charged me $1,290.91"

Zero stars

"Delivery was a joke. Innovel Solutions was the delivery service that Costco hired and they were suppose to deliver between 8am and 10am and never called so I did, twice and finally got a call back on the third call to Costco. Innovel Solutions’ lazy employees showed up saying my driveway was not safe and WOULD NOT DELIVER MY APPLIANCES! Sears delivered a washer and dryer one month ago with a bigger truck and had no problems. That excuse was as absurd as the delivery company saying that they did not carry a dolly on their truck. No joke they drove away without delivering anything and without telling me they were leaving. I bought a frig, range, microwave, and dishwasher. They could have easily given me the microwave and the dishwasher, I had a dolly for crap sake, but they just drove away. Never never ever again!"

Spent more for less......

"I ordered LG LSG4513ST stove. Waited over a week and it was delivered.
It supposed to be properly installed by the delivery people:
1. Parts are missing. The only thing that came was the green spray bottle.
What was missing and not installed (unless it was in the box and delivery people did not want to install) is anti-tip kit.
Cleaning pad. Gas conversion kit.
I contacted LG and they are shipping all missing parts to me but it takes
7 business days and now I am afraid to use the oven because it might tip.
If delivery people are experiences they should know that stove like this
should installed properly so no one gets injured.

2. Delivery company guys did not install the stove properly.
They did not level it to the counter top and lied to me that the adjustment legs were already at the limit.
So today I decided to check that out because I wanted to buy a gap fillers and it required the stove to be leveled.
They only leveled it partially to the floor but not to the counter top. It had like a 3/8 difference between the counter top height and the stove.
Then I asked to level they said it was already at the height limit.
I just spent 30 minutes and leveled myself. It was not at the height limit.

3. Originally I have contacted Greentoe and was quoted $1242 including tax and delivery.
I don't know who supposed to install but your delivery guys did not do much for installation
so even if I had to install it I would have saved $200 and I am sure that the product would come with all of the parts included.
But my wife insisted to go with Costco. Stupid me.

4. I made a complaint to Costco. Two of their reps suggested that I get delivery guys back after the kit arrive.
That is stupid because first of all they did bad job delivering in the first place. Why would I want them back?
Second of all there is no garantee that they will install the oven right even then parts arrive.
And third, I need it now, not in two weeks because I am going to have guests who want to use the oven
for potluck Thanksgiving dinner. A hope no one gets hurt if oven tips.

"I ordered an item that I needed quickly and paid a lot for the 2-4 day expedited delivery. That was 6 days ago and today I learned that I can expect delivery tomorrow. DON'T USE EXPEDITED DELIVERY. They take your money and don't deliver. "

bullied and blackballed by a corporate giant

"A woman at this store picked a fight with me and then she complained to management. I tried to explain my side of the story to management, but they had no interest in hearing it. 6 weeks later, I got a letter saying my membership has been revoked for all stores, and that they have a right to cancel anyone's membership without cause. This is what happens when Costco gets too successful, they take great joy bullying and blackballing individual customers."

Never again

"Bought a refrigerator everything went smooth. Notified it would be delivered in one week. Then get email that it would be delayed one week. Finally get a message from delivery service to contact them. They informed me it would be an additional week and a half. I called, on hold 52 minutes. Finally a very nice CSR who tried to call the delivery service but they were closed. Went to online chat and got complete run around. Price was same as Home Depot but thought I’d give Costco a chance. No more. They do not provide quality customer service. "

kirkland pistachios

"i recently bought a 3 lb bag of pistachios with shells. near the end i found a rock in the bag. fortunately i did not bite it or break any teeth. i complained to costco and kirkland. they made me a $100 offer. while investigating this rock i found that the bag does not have a product code nor a "use by' date. i certainly expected a better response from them! perhaps they wanted me to call with a dentist bill or a surgeons bill!. i am giving this to my lawyer and will no longer be doing business with costco. they claim they pride themselves on customer service. this is my first experience with a problem in a product and i truly believe it was mishandled"

White Glove Service anything but that

"Customer Service Rep disconnected the call. My item was picked up by someone not sure who and Costco nor the shipping company could provide any confirmation that the item was picked up.

Filing Police Report now.

and Rep did care all they could do is say thats not possible...what online company can't send emails? very very bad will NEVER EVER buy anything from the online store again.

Miss matched deck furniture

"ABOSLUTELY A NIGHTMARE! Ordered deck furniture and it came miss matched. Out of 10 pieces, 7 were gray and 3 were brown. Called Costco customer service and they told me to accept delivery and they would take care of it in a couple days. Two weeks later, 8 phone calls later, nothing has been resolved. Now we just want it picked up and our 4600.00$ refunded and we still have gotten no where. You can’t get a supervisor on the phone and all they do is give you lip service. Costco’s customer service has gotten beyond horrible. This is what happens when a company gets so large their customer service fails. Before you know it, Costco’s will go out of business. Without great customer service, and so much competition on the internet, they will fail.
Very, very disappointed with this whole experience. NEVER,EVER AGAIN.

Awful customer service...

"Apparently our Costco membership has been inactive and I was honestly unaware. At the self-checkout when I scanned it and automatically says, "old card" so the manager came and took the membership card to check and told me that it was inactive and in order to check out those few items I need to sign up for another card and that was it. I said No thank you, I did not plan to sign up for a new membership today and he said I had to leave those items and there wasn't much he could do....Seriously!!!

I was in shocked and asked him if he was seriously not letting me check out those 3 items, his reply was YES, there's no way. I guess I will never sign up for a membership at Costco again. I completely understand, but that was the worse unhuman customer service in my entire life. He left a real bad taste in my mouth. I will stick to BJ's and Sam's.
