"After choosing the audio unit I wanted for our Wrangler I called the tech team. He was quick to confirm that my existing install kit would work with the new unit. He also recommended a backup camera that would be compatible with our Jeep and stereo. I also had to call the install tech support which was also the best of the best. "For me what it meant was that there were a few screws missing. No big deal really because the local hardware store is an easy fix but it was a gift for my daughter so it meant going to town to get small, tapered head metric screws in the middle of the install. The side plates for a ford are held on with screws that the parts bag said were supposed to be included with the stereo. I guess that just means someone returned the stereo just so the could have the screws. 5 bucks worth of screws! BFD Other than that, after trimming the factory dash it was a really easy install.
As far as the JVC KW-V350BT, it looks and sounds great and my daughter is really excited that she no longer has the factory Ford crap radio in her car. Pairing to her i-phone was super simple and she had control of all its functions and adjustments in short time. Def use Crutchfield again"
"I needed new speakers for my 2002 Suburban. I am a complete noob at stereo product selection. I called Crutchfield because of their excellent website. What I got was totally over-the-top personal service that made the shopping experience not only tolerable, but fun, too! After learning that my initial selections likely would be best replaced with slightly better speakers, the checkout was super easy. Then, two days later, just as advised, my speakers arrived well packed and secure. In the meantime, Crutchfield sent me easy to understand installation instructions that made the panel removal and installation super easy, too. All in all, this was perhaps the best online shopping trip I've ever taken! I'll definitely shop Crutchfield when I replace the radio!"
"I recently had to interrupt a car stereo install because one of the Maestro units was defective. And then the same day had a iData start module that wouldn't flash. They were supposed to be Christmas presents, Total junk. Really soured my experience with DIY on today's cars. Too bad, I'm 52 and have been installing car stereos since the 80's, used Crutchfield a ton too. I fear that the car electronics is too complicated for the DIY market. New speakers are about the only thing that's plug and play."
