"More of the same. Almost no communication. Ordered 24 cables only received one. No communication regarding the whereabouts of the other 23 cables. Had to call and were told they were back ordered. Still waiting decided to check. The other 23 had been shipped, and quite some time previously. Checked the track and they shipped them to the wrong place. They got the address the first time... Anyway, they are only interested in taking your money. Good luck..."
"Datavision is a drop-shipper, which by itself is not a bad thing - many big and small online retailers do that. That means they don't have the advertised items in their warehouses (they may not have a warehouse at all) but instead forward your order to a distributor who then ships it to you.
The difference with Datavision is that they don't seem to have any inventory control whatsoever. Normally a drop-shipper would verify distributor's inventory during checkout and would not proceed with payment if the item is out of stock. Datavision will take an order for any quantity, take your payment, and then refund it two days later, even if the item was clearly out of stock at the time of purchase.
My advice - do not buy anything from this merchant. There are many other retailers who use the same distributors and will sell you the same items for the same or lower price, but will also have accurate inventories."
"Stay away from this outfit. They, seemingly intentionally, shipped me the wrong item, apparently doing the same to many others. While my product was displayed on their web site, they apparently never actually had it. To Datavision's credit, they acknowledged their error and provided a UPS return mailer so I didn't have to pay for return shipment, albeit I had to find a UPS site to ship it from.
Getting them to refund my Paypal payment has not been successful yet. They have put me off many times on the phone in addition to being rude and unhelpful. They promised a refund date which was missed. I called to be told that the customer rep I needed was "out to lunch" and to call back. I called back and their "systems were down". I called back again and I initially was able to speak to a live person, but then I was forwarded to a voice mail. They never responded to my left message. I've now begun the process of filing a complaint through Paypal. We'll see where that goes."
"I ordered a set of the iFrogz headphones for one of my daughter's Christmas presents. I didn't receive confirmation that order had been placed for about 24 hours which seemed kind of odd, but it is close to Christmas so OK. After 5 days of not receiving a shipment notification I called customer service; after waiting about 20 minutes to talk to someone they told me that the order was canceled because the item was not available anymore; I asked why nobody called me or e-mailed me and the rep did not have an answer. I then asked why my credit card had been charged and they just kept saying 'be patient, you have to be more patient...' Patient for what? Getting charged for a product I did not receive. Luckily I was able to talk with the CC company and get this resolved, but wow, what a poor way to do business. I will never shop at Datavis.com and I will deter anyone I know from shopping there."
"-Ordered wi-fi SD card Sunday (21st) evening.
-Realized the order was wrong, called to cancel (no email confirmation at this point).
-Was told on the phone that the order was not in the system, call back in 2-3 hours.
-did not have time that evening, received confirmation email at 8am Monday morning (22nd). called and spoke with a male employee; was told the order was cancelled, per my request at that time.
-Tuesday (23rd) I recieved email stating it was shipped. I didn't notice until later in the day, figured it was a fluke and did nothing.
-Thanksgiving holiday and busy schedule kept me from calling again until Friday (26th). I was told that it really had been shipped and nothing could be done, so I could either keep it or refuse shipment and i would then be credited my money 3-4 days after they received the package back.
-The package arrived Monday (29th). I wrote on the package that it was refused and to please return to sender.
-The mail person did not take the package on Tuesday, so it went out on Wednesday December 1st.
-Thursday, December 16th I check my statement and see that a credit was issued on the 10th of December.
-The credit was less $11.80. I assumed for shipping, but felt this wasn't fair because I had cancelled my order. Also, shipping was only 5.92 originally so I was being charged for both directions (not sure if that would be normal or not).
-I called, was on hold for 6 minutes, a lady picked up but apparently couldn't hear me (I was on a land-line, not a cellphone) and she hung up. I called again and waited again for 4 minutes or so and then talked to a male employee.
-Employee told me the shipping would not be refunded, even after asking his supervisor. He explained that they were busy, said he was sorry for the issue (I understand busy, and I'm glad he apologized), but said unless I knew the name of the person I had talked to so they could bring it up with him, that they could not refund my shipping costs.
I'm not sure why I needed to know the name of the person I talked to for the cancellation. I should have asked for that information, but at the time it went smoothly and I saw no reason to doubt the man's word that it was cancelled.
Regardless, I thought my effort to address the situation (and my level of detail) was valid, and worthy of a refund.
This company didn't think so and just continued to say "I'm sorry, but we're busy" etc.
I won't use them again, nor do I hope anyone else does. For the future I'll take more notes and be more negative/non-trusting with my assumptions. It's a shame that someone's word doesn't count, and mistakes aside, that situations aren't rectified.

"Ordered an LG HDTV on November 2nd through Amazon.com. TV was delivered via UPS on November 8th. TV was brand new in the original box, all items were included and there was no damage. TV is working great. Absolutely no problems with this seller."
"I ordered a Nokia N8 cell phone on 10/27/2010, the price was 501.14 including 16 dollar shipping and a 20 dollar coupon rebate. It said "ships within 1-3 days" The order status changed from N to A later on the same day and I received an email confirmation. The funds were taken out of my checking account via Paypal. On the third day which is today I submitted a message on their website, after waiting another 4 hours and not receiving an answer I called them. After about 10 minutes on the phone with customer service I was told they didn't have the phone in stock! I canceled the order which has not yet changed to canceled on their web site. I think it is a borderline scam to tell customers an item will be shipped within 1-3 days, charge me the full amount before the item has been shipped. Never again Datavis!
Update. I stand by my previous review of never using them again. I called again and sent an email canceling the order. I finally received the refund 3 days later even though a paypal transaction should be almost immediate. Never received an answer to my 2 emails, one which was sent through paypal."
"I ordered a laptop online, i was shipped an identical in appearance laptop with cheaper components ( less memory, slower processor). When I called the customer service rep (i think) she tried to persuade me to take the cheaper laptop for a 50 dollar discount, this was 150 dollars more than comparable retailers, for the exact same specs. When I told her I wanted the laptop I ordered at the price I ordered. I was told that The laptop was on back order. The next day I called again, this time I just ordered the right laptop and the operator confirmed that it was in stock and available at 220 more. When I told him I was returning a laptop and that I expected it at the price I ordered, i was told it was back ordered again. i asked for something in writing saying that when the laptop was in stock I would be sent one at the contracted price, a supervisor refused, and just asked that I send the laptop back. He also admitted that to sell me the laptop at that price would be below cost, i understand mistakes happen but to try to bait and switch because you are greedy is shameful."
"Ordered all in-stock items, with 3rd day guaranteed shipping. 8 days later I don't even have a tracking number. Called customer service, they say its dropshipped from the distributor and that I should've gotten a tracking number from them, so I'm just out of luck. Will not order from again."
"I purchased a Generation 5 16GB iPod nano listed by DataVision through Buy.com. After reviewing Datavision on ResellerRatings.com I was reluctant to continue the transaction. But the purchase transaction is channeled through Buy.com and their Buy.com Marketplace Guarantee protects the purchase up to $750.00. It was a safe risk. The price was the best that I could find on the web. The purchase process was flawless. I received an order and shipping confirmation with tracking number the next day. I received the item on time.
I am totally satisfied with this transaction with DataVision and Buy.com. I will not hesitate to buy from DataVision again.
Thank You,
Tom "
"I bought a replacement Battery with 900mAh capacity at Datavision because it had the cheapest price for this battery capacity. It arrived fast, but I received 780 mAh product, different from what I ordered. I emailed the customer service but got no response.
I can live with it because I could still use it. But it is not what I ordered, and I am extreamly disapointed with the company's business ethics that they just ignore such obvious complaint.
I am glad I did not buy anything expensive there. I will never buy anything from this store. "
"I purchased an item from this company via buy.com before coming here. Had I come here first, I would have not. While I was very worried after seeing the posts here, the item did come new and packaged fine. Next time I dont think I will use a store with such a low rating. I saved $1 plus shipping using them, but would much rather have purchased from a well known source with a better rating and pay a little extra. I just feel sorry for all the rest here.
While I have never been to NY, this has to be a large store. Something like Fry's electronics on the west coast. They included a catalog with my order and it looks almost identical to a Fry's ad. In anycase, there's still no reason to have such a low overall score. Buy.com is also to blame as it seems they'll affiliate with anyone. I wrote them and asked how they go about signing up with 3rd parties and received a canned answer that fell on deaf ears. Not sure I will ever order from them again as well. "
"Bad attitude, not honest - good price though. I should have ordered from Newegg or Amazon. I was searching for a gigabit card. Datavision is close by my office. According to their website, the network card I was seeking were Netgear GA511 or Trendnet gigabit card. I figure since Datavision is close by my office and Newegg charges shipping on these items, I might as well purchased locally. Upon entering the store, the clerks shied away from me. I do not know why, I dress professionally. I located Netgear GA511. I was unable to locate the Trendnet card. Ask the sales rep, wow, was he unpleasant. He told me BOTH were out. I replied what do you mean out, I pointed to GA511 in the window. He retrieved it. I asked him how much, and he responded it is $29.99. I told him, it is much lower on your website. He said I was right, but instead of $23.69 listed on datavis.com, he quoted $24.99. Since I didn't have a print out, I reluctantly purchased it. On principle alone, this store sucks. Rude attitude made me want to spit in their face. Good price - next time I'll send my admin to purchased the stuff, but make sure she brings an on-line print out."
"I placed an order for my daughter's birthday and was told that "item has over sold and is not in stock to be shipped" and that I would receive a refund. No item. No refund..."
"Ordered a PS3 on July 2, 2009 with Datavision stating on their website that it was in-stock. Sent an email each week after that to check status as their site didn't provide any updates. No responses to the emails. Finally I called the second week after no responses from the two emails. They stated that it was out of stock and that it would be shipping that week.
On Monday the following week I recieved a call from Datavision to confirm the delivery address. I confirmed the address and they stated it was in stock and they would be shipping it the next day. I asked if I would be getting confirmation and a tracking number via email, which they said would happen.
I called that Friday as I had not received an email. Find out my order had been cancelled and that I would have to reorder it. I said no thannks, I will take my business somewhere else.
Good price, disappointing customer service."
