"This was a nightmare experience!! I am a big online shopper--all of my holiday shopping for the last 3 years has been online. I rarely have returns and when I do I find all the vendors very gracious except for Datavision. Once they had my money they had no interest in helping me even though the product was defective.
Bought an EZ Gear TH200 video glass from Datavsion for my husband for Christmas on 12/5. After he opened it it did not work at all. I tried to return it the 3rd week in January and Datavision refused to take it back b/c it was 30 days after purchase.
Very arrogantly told me to contact EZ gear and get a new set via my one year warranty. Datavision would not help in anyway and could care less--they said it was my fault it was after 30 days of purchase (which is still within 30 days of Christmas). They implied that I was lying. I warn you to stay away from Datavision. They have no interest in customer service.
It is a mail order warehouse.
Now I am trying to track down a new set via EZ gear, They say that they have a 90 day warranty!! I just want this returned--it is a piece of garbage."
"I bought a JVC projector, HD-100. I decided to upgrade the shipping from ground to 3 day select and called up customer service. They were very helpfull and upgraded for no extra charge. Paypal check took a few days extra to process, but when it did shipping was prompt and email notification of tracking number was sent to me. Very staisfied with my purchase, althought the 3.8 rating on here makes me wonder why so many people had a bad experience."
"ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THE MANAGER (KEITH) IS RUDE, SARCASTIC AND INSULTING.
I had placed an order for a Samsung product from Datavis.com. The website claimed the product was in-stock however after waiting a month I called for a status and was told the order was cancelled. I was never contacted by phone or e-mail of the in order status.
While speaking to Keith (who claimed to be the manager) he initially hung up on me while I was trying to find out why my order was cancelled. I called back and asked for a real manager however got Keith again. He decided it was best to handle the situation by being sarcastic and insult me.
This is my first time ordering from this company and is absolutely my last. I'd warn anyone thinking about ordering from this company that if you should call with a problem about your order, Keith answers all phones (sales, customer service, and manager). Good luck."

They will not BUDGE on their 30-day return policy (which by the way I missed with a phone call by just a couple of days!!) The item is NEW IN BOX with factory shrink wrap - never touched. I wouldn't even be writing this review if the biligerent "manager" hadn't berrated me on the phone and then HUNG UP on me while I was in mid-sentence trying to explain my unique situaion. "I bought a 52-inch Samsung from DataVis and stupidly bought the 5-year extended coverage. The TV arrived on time. Two weeks later my house was burglarized and the TV was taken. I called DataVis to cancel the extended warranty and was told that I would have to pay a "restocking" fee (for an extended warranty?). I had to think that one over but called back a few weeks later to cancel and was told that I couldn't cancel the extended warranty. I was told that I could apply it towards another TV. The first person that I spoke to was not very knowledgeable. The second person was very rude. You should also be aware that if you want to buy the extended warranty (I don't recommend it) you can buy it on Ebay from Datavis for $100 less than you pay when you buy a TV. I guess that's how they thank you for buying a TV from them. They overcharge you $100 for the extended warranty..."
"I ordered a battery charger. UPS delivered a noisy box containing the charger with the plastic blister box razor-knifed open and the batteries rolling around in the box. The razor knife had cut through to the charger. I called cust serv three times before I finally reached an incredibly rude man who told me that "no one returns those." Well, maybe no one else received one that was previously used or at least returned. He was huffy and informed me that I was just trying to be confrontational. Hello, I'm the injured party here. I began again and finally he said to return the charger. I kept at him until he said that if the charger didn't work, he'd arrange to have it picked up. It it working thus far but never again will I put myself in a position to deal with the rude personnel of this company. "
"Having dealt with a few NYC resellers before, I knew just how bad they could be.
In the case of Datavision, I received the lowest price, the fastest and fairest price shipping, and guess what: CUSTOMER SERVICE too!
The Toshiba 52" LCD I bought from Datavision needs service and naturally, I have to use a local service provider. I understand that and that is OK. BUT, Datavision went out of their way to assist me in receiving the service I needed.
I am elated with my purchase from DataVision. Best Buy or Circuit City would have delivered and set it up for me....all at a price. I got the best of all worlds with Datavision.

" DHL delivered my package just leaving it outside my building. Someone stole it. Then I sent an e-mail to datavision they said I had to call them to open a claim. Their customer service is closed at nights and it is a long distance call, therefore I cannot call from my office. When I finally talked to them, they said DHL opened a claim and I would have to wait for 1 -3 weeks to get an answer. I cannot even cancel my order. Now, even though I need the product, I have to wait for 1-3 weeks to see what is going to happen. Terrible customer service, not helpful at all, unpolite. I ordered through amazon, should get the package through datavision and now I have to deal with DHL. What in the world is that?"
"You may have heard this line before, but I cannot emphasize it more: DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE!!! and I am not another overly fussy customer, but just could not believe the audacity Datavision has, to deal with customers so poorly and even offensively. placed an order at their website (but never received invoice by email, fortunately I had printed my invoice at the time of ordering) When I noticed the delay in shipping my order I emailed them and never received a reply (they never replied to any of my subsequent emails either). When I called, I was told my item was on backorder and would deliver in 2 weeks. 2 weeks later nothing arrived, I emailed then called and was told the order was ready and would ship that same day. 1 week later, nothing arrived. I called to inquire and was told that the item is discontinued and that a higher model would be sent to me for an additional fee!! (what happened to the order that they said was ready to ship!) When I asked why I wasn't notified or told this from the beginning and why I was lied to about the item being ready for shipping (and I was being polite and not angry) I was LITERALLY shocked at the extreme rudeness of the person I spoke to, whose response was "you could take it or leave it" or get my money back. Shocked and upset I called again and was informed by another agent the item was available and would be shipped, and this time it did arrive only part of the order was missing. So I called, and was transferred to the same rude agent who told me that "Datavision owes [me] nothing" and even accused me of lying about the missing item. Shocked and angered, I called a 2nd and 3rd time and was transferred to the same rude agent every time who apparently is “the manager”. Thankfully, I had the invoice I had printed to prove my claim. Without receiving any apology from Datavision for their offensive treatment I was told the missing item will ship soon. Nothing arrived yet to-date!! I am thinking of taking this complaint further."

Placed an order for a Samsung LN-S3296D LCD TV on 28 Feb; the site said on 1-2 week backorder. I received an order # immediately but dod not get a comfimation e mail for two days. It said I needed to contact my credit card issuer to assusre this was not a fradulent charge. I did, and assumed everything waS OK. I called datavis the next day and was told my order was being shipped that day. They shipped and billed on the same day. It arrived as promised in excellent condition.
They are not great about handholding nervous customers but they deliver the goods. They were polite and efficient in their phone conversations, and did not try to sell additional unneeded accwssories.
I will definitely purchase from then again. "
"I ordered a Toshiba HD-A2 hi-def DVD player Sunday night, received a shipping tracking number on Monday, and received the player on Tuesday. This was for a player that was out of stock at most places and was ordered just a week before Xmas. The price was the lowest on the internet ($399.) and the shipping was a reasonable ~$10. The excellent service I received is totally inconsistent with their ratings."
