"DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE THEVIES! You will regret it! I do. They charged my credit card immediately after I placed the order but did not even have the equipment in stock. I have been going back and forth with these jerks and finally had to get different speakers because they could not get what I ordered. Then I was supposed to get a refund on one item $135 subwoofer and they have not refunded me after 7 months. NO MATTER WHAT THE PRICE IS, DON'T EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE DIRTBAGS! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, NO MATTER THE COST. SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN. Still waiting on the refund for the sub! Do not waste your time."

"I ordered two pair of Infinity Reference 6022SI speakers on Wednesday, July 8th, 2009. I started poking around the internet over the following weekend and I ran across some horrid reviews of Dealer Cost Car Audio.

I contacted Robert by e-mail the following Wednesday, July 15th with my misgivings. He was polite, professional, and I felt like he was giving me a fair shake. The speakers shipped out that day and UPS delivered them to my door on Saturday, July 18th.

Unfortunately, I had to travel out of town for business and my wife received the packages. The box sat in my home office until this past Sunday when I finally made it home. I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the box because I found two pair of 6032SI's. That's the newest model Infinity makes in my size. It's a nicely upgraded version of the older 6022SI's.

I installed the speakers yesterday, Monday, August 3rd and they sound like a million bucks.

"I placed my order on July 10, with the promise that it would be received by July 16. The item was FINALLY delivered on July 27 in a beat up cardboard wine box. All items were in brand new condition, but I would have expected something a little more professional. The other reviews that you read are true. If you call, expect to spend nearly an hour on the phone before you can get a hold of anyone. Expect all communication to be extremely vague and brief. I was beginning to doubt that my order would ever be delivered, but it finally came and everything was in good condition. Robert offered me a $15 discount for the delay, but no price can really compensate for a 10 day late birthday present. If you have a month to sit around and wait for your product and hound the customer service representatives, order from Dealer Cost Car Audio. They even include a free dash kit and wire harness with every stereo purchase. If time is of the essence, and you don't want to lose sleep over a possible fraudulent transaction, look elsewhere."

"I placed an order on 7/25/09.My credit card was billed immediately and I recieved a email stating I would be contacted within 24 hours if any of my purchases were out of stock. That was the first lie. To make a long story short, after several phone (calls having to be on hold for up to 45 mins.) and many emails (most that goes unanswered)I am convienced that WWW.dealercostaudio.com is a front for something illegal. I should have known better... I should have stayed with WWW.SONICELECTRONIX.COM"

"I recently purchased a Kenwood amplifier from DCCA, I made my purchase without first reading the reviews. I called customer service (I got through in less than 5 minutes, contrary to many of the reviews, stating that they were never able to speak to a real person)and expressed my concerns. I was reassured and told the order would be shipped the day of the purchase and it was. I received the order in 4-days, just like promised. As far as the amplifier, all I can say is "SWEEEEET," it was brand new in the box, not used like other neg. writers stated.It works great!!! And based on this transaction, I have nothing but good things to say about the company, and would definitely use DCCA again!!!!! "

"Do Not Purchase From Dealer Cost Car Audio!!!
SCAM!!SCAM!!
I decided to try out DCCA and have never been so disappointed with an ebusiness!!! They took my order and sent me a shipping code then took my money. Never shipped the items, constantly gave me the run-around buy stalling for this reason or that. Then will not give me a refund on items that they do not have and will not ship. Just getting a person on the phone was tough.

DCCA IS A SCAM!!! DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!! THE GIVE A BAD NAME TO LEGITAMATE BUSINESS AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COST!!!!

"Except for the reviews that say this company is a "Scam," many of the reviews on this site are fairly accurate. They are not the fastest company, but they are not a scam, I did eventually get my products, and they have very decent customer service (by email).

I ordered two Kenwood subs and a capacitor, and was charged immediately on 6/26 for the order. After two weeks (I was on vacation) I didn't receive the product and it didn't show as "shipped" so I emailed them. They are prompt to respond to emails (I sent 8 to be exact), and it turns out the Subs I ordered were not in stock, and were discontinued by Kenwood. After several emails, they offered to upgrade me at no cost to the newer version of the Subs, which cost 35% more. They said it could ship immediately, so I agreed. They did ship the subs, and the Cap immediately and I finally received them 7/22/09 (although shipped to my house instead of my job as I had requested).

Bottom line is I WOULD ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN because I'm willing to sacrifice time for the extremely cheap price, which was $20-30/Sub cheaper than my usual favorite (Amazon). BUT, DON'T ORDER FROM THEM IF YOU NEED YOUR STUFF RIGHT AWAY.

"Wow, where do I begin? This company is just plain awful! They claim to have items in stock when they clearly don't, but they'll charge your credit card right away. I placed an order on July 2nd for a JL Audio CleanSweep. I emailed before (July 1st) I placed the order and "Robert" replied that it was in stock, ready to ship. Bull. I guess this is the typical response so you are stupid enough to place the order. After 5 days and no shipping information, I canceled the order. Today is July 22nd and I am still waiting on my refund! I feel like they are holding my money hostage! They claim (but wont offer proof) they processed the refund and to "look for it any second". I asked for the transaction number (a very long number) that identifies the refund through the credit card system, but all they offered me was a 6 or 7 digit number. I will give them kudos for answering emails, but it's always some excuse instead of the truth. "Look for the refund tomorrow" or "it could take 3-5 buiness days, up to 10 buisness day for the refund to hit". Are you kidding me - for a refund? Damn quick to charge the credit card, though! I have their emails for proof if anyone wants to see how awful this company really is. I doubt the 5 star reviews posted below are valid - funny how most are 1 star and now they are all 5 star. Save yourself the time and hassle and get your gear from another dealer. Avoid DDCA at all costs. and good luck on getting through to them on the phone - that's impossible. Filing a complaint with the BBB and FTC as well."

"Ordered a Viper 5901 on 7/5. Credit card was charged right away. Received confirmation of order 3 hours later. I emailed on 7/13 9:23 AM and told them it still said "payment received" on the status. 3:11 pm received email with tracking number. 8:59 pm received email that said tracking number should have been sent.(yeah, you sent it 6 hours after I emailed you) Had to email again on 7/16 and said that UPS says it only has billing info. Received reply couple hours later saying they would look into it. UPS finally updated the package to "origin scan" on 7/17. It's 7/21 and UPS says that it will be delivered on 7/23. Thanks for making me not have a birthday present for my son this past weekend. I knew I should have ordered from Sonic Electronics. I ordered a car radio and received it within 4 days, but Dealer's item was cheaper and I didn't want the hassle of price matching on Sonic's site.
UPDATE: To DCCA's comment: I wouldn't call ordering on 7/5 and having my order finally shipped on 7/17 and finally receiving item on 7/23 "Receiving order in a timely fashion". Obviously the shipping options don't really matter since it took over a week for you to finally ship my item out and I had to email you twice.
Company also contacted me by email after review and offered me a discount or some money back if I changed my review and gave a better rating.

"Wow...where to start. If you are thinking about buying from Dealer Cost Audio please read these reviews. They are not misleading. So I bought the Kenwood DDX 814 from this company and they charged me immediately...before the item was shipped. After a few days of not getting a shipping confirmation it raised some eyebrows. I emailed Robert and he responded with some lame a$$ excuse. After a couple of more days of emailing back and forth and wasting my time, Robert told me they never had the item in stock to begin with. Did the website mention this on the order page like a responsible business would? NO! Once Robert told me this I asked him to cancel my order. This request took 5 days before they officially canceled my order. I'm now on the 7th business day since the order was canceled and still no money refunded. In the meantime Dealer Cost Audio tried blaming the whole thing on Kenwood. This is crazy. Don't by from this company you will just waste your time and money. Oh, and if you're wondering why I haven't tried calling them it's because I did and nobody is there to answer their phones. They just put you on hold through an automated system and you're stuck waiting there until 15 minutes pass and you realize it's pointless."

" How this company stays in business I have no clue, I do believe any positive feedback has to be from the inside and not any real consumers.
My order was a nightmare from the beginning. After they took my money it was days before any info on my order was received and only after numerous e-mails and useless attempts to reach them on the phone did I finally get a response.
Constant lies about my order, when it will ship, on and on. I got one partial shipment and had to constantley e-mail about the rest, I finally had to cancel what I did not receive as I couldn't wait any longer, now another battle begins as to when and IF I will receive a refund. I'll have to wait and see. I will give them 5 days to complete my refund or it's off to the Credit Card company for a charge back, even though who knows where they operate out of as the address listed on their site is a postal center!!!!!!

Went to SonicElectronix, items shipped SAME DAY

update. I did receive an e-mail as to a refund, but who knows what that means with them

"First off, they charged my card right off the bat. If a company charges your card right off the bat well before shipment, be LEERY! I have the same complaint as everyone else and I have no idea how I didn't see all of these reviews BEFORE I ordered. I placed my order on June 26th and requested 2-day shipping. 5 Days later I had no order. When you request 2-day shipping, expecting it after 5-days is fair! Anyway, I e-mailed them and they told me there was a delay. First off, I should never have to contact the company. If there is a backorder, the company should tell you ON the website or at the very least, immediately after placing the order. Anyway, on June 30th "Robert" apologized for the delay and stated that the item would "ship in 1-2 days". On July 11th, I still had not received my order. I had to e-mail "Robert" again. And again, I shouldn't have had to. They SHOULD contact you. So he lied about "ship in 1-2 days". And then I had to contact him again and again he said "1-2 days". Finally on the 15th, I decided that this was a bogus company attempting to weasel their way to the 30-Day MAX for credit card disputes. So I e-mailed Robert and demanded that my order be cancelled and my credit card be cancelled. I immediately received REFUND information from DCCA and on the 16th I called my credit card company to verify. My credit card company showed no record of the credit so I disputed the charge and reported it as fraud. Don't take your chances. Let's just say for 1 second that they are legit, this isn't how you treat your customers and it isn't worth taking your chances. You don't lie to your customers. You don't charge before shipment, especially not when it's 21 days later and the order still hasn't shipped. "
