"WOW, customer service is amazing. im simply amazed. i never write reviews. never! but after this phone call i just had regarding tech support about my computer and printer im in shock. i spoke to HP a few month ago and it was disgusting. horrible, they were practically going to charge me to get tech support consultation. Dell, whom ever trains your crew is going a fantastic job.

"I had a problem with my laptop so I called Dell to see if I still had a warranty. The man told me it had expired but he could sell me an extended warranty and it would cover whatever was wrong with my computer. I explained the problem, and asked him if he was sure it would cover everything. He said yes. He said a technician would come to my house and fix it, no charge. He told me it would be $100. Then he came back and said he could add coverage for software for another $63. So I said yes. He took my credit card and then sent me through to a technician. Once I spoke with her and she ran some tests then she told me she needed to send me through to software dept. because my extended warranty did not cover software and it would be an additional charge. I told her that the salesman had said it covered software. She assured me it did not. I asked for a manager. When I spoke with the manager he explained that I should not have been sold the extended warranty because I was not eligible. He also said it would not cover software issues and that the first man had told me the wrong thing. I explained how upset I was and asked for a refund. He said I could cancel the warranty, or I could keep it and they would offer me a one-time free fix of whatever was wrong with my computer. I told him I needed to think about it, so he gave me his name and number. I called him back within an hour and asked him to please cancel the warranty and refund my money. He said he would and it would be refunded to my card within 3-5 days.

One week later I called to check on the refund. I was told that I had asked to keep the warranty and the refund was not given. I was extremely mad. I explained to the man what had really transpired, and told him I wanted my refund. He kept trying to make me keep the warranty. I told him I did not want it and I wanted my money. He said he would process it in another 3-5 days.

I have never experienced such bad customer service ever. I was lied to, and given the run-around, and then they tried to keep my money after all of that. I will NEVER buy anything from Dell again, and I feel that the people who lied to me need to have some sort of disciplinary action taken against them in their jobs. They should not be able to lie to customers and get away with it.

"THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING FROM DELL..... I purchased a tv through Dell on 1/28/12. It was supposed to be delivered on or before 2/2/12 so I would have it for the super bowl. On 1/30/12 I received an email saying it would not be delivered til 2/7/12. I finally received the tv on 2/9/12, and it was broke. I called Dell to see about getting a replacement tv sent out they said the tv was no longer available. I tried to work with them. They said all they cold do is give me a refund. I took a day off of work to wait for the shipping company to pick up the broken tv on 2/10/12. I called Dell today (2/17/12) they said they received the tv and now I have to wait another 3 to 5 business days to get my money back. THEY SURE TAKE YOUR MONEY QUICK BUT WHEN IT IS TIME TO GIVE A REFUND THEY PUT YOU THROUGH HELL TO GET IT BACK. THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING FROM DELL... YOUR BEST BET IS TO BUY INTOWN... A GOOD PRICE IS NOT EVERYTHING DO SOME RESEARCH. REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!!!!!"

"Dell Latitude E6520 worst laptop I have ever bought. Does not come standard with internal speakers, and no options to add them. This means to hear anything from the computer you have to lug around external speakers or a headset. Basically makes the computer useless.

When I went to return the computer had to fight Dell for days to send it back to them. Once you sign for delivery from Dell, they won't allow you to return the computer if it is not what you need.

"THE WORST warranty service. I don't need any tech support ever, I am the IT department. I hate to sound so arrogant but it's the truth. Employee brings in a laptop and I know instantly it's a bad hard drive. BIOS says Fixed HDD: None, drive is clicking and Windows doesn't boot up. Well I spend 45 minutes chatting with Dell support and they are asking me to do all these unnecessary diagnostics and tests. In the end, instead of shipping me a hard drive and recovery disc which would get the system repaired in 5 days or less they are shipping me a box and I estimate: shipping box to me: 3-5 days, shipping box to Dell: 3-5 days, repair: 3-5 days, shipping laptop back: 3-5 days. When you add weekends total I estimate: 15 to 28 days (2 to 4 weeks). Not happy. I can contact HP and they will overnight me any part I need. Other experience this month was with Dell's "Next business day" "onsite" warranty. They shipped a part to the tech, tech never showed up and when I called Unisys they told me too bad, call Dell -- I did and ended up installing the part myself a week after the "next business day."

I don't even try to call Dell's "phone number" because every time I have called I am transferred in circles until my blood pressure goes up and I am forced to hang up an hour later in frustration.

Dell systems are cheap (price-wise) for a reason: they do everything in their power to avoid and delay warranty service.

This was originally posted 2/3/2011. It is now 2/13/2011 and I just received an email from Dell that they have received the laptop and will start to repair it. 12 days and counting...

2/14/2012: Got another email today from Dell stating they received the laptop. Their site shows the same status as yesterday. All they need to do is change the hard drive!

"Horrible, Just horrible. I order a system on a saturday with a gift card and credit card. They accepted my order and everything went through. In the evening they placed my order on hold and said my credit card was having problems. I called my credit card and everything is fine. The email also stated that they are closed on sat and sun so I cannot call them to go over the order. On monday morning the order has been cancelled without any notification. I chat with them at first and they said they cannot help me. I called the customer care department and they said they do not handle these cases. Only the department that takes the funds takes care of it. I was then transfered to various departments and spoke to different superviors. Finally the supervisor said they will take care of it and reinstate the order. THe following day the sales rep contacted me to place an order. When i try to use the gift card, it was 0. I then have to contact the dell gift card dept. The dept does not get involved with orders. I then have to call the customer care again. I was speaking to pre care and then transfer to post care and then to order modifications. No body want to help with the sitautions. After one week later I was able to get the gift card resolved and placed my order. When I receive my order I tested out the computer and it seems to have a harddrive failure problem. Now i have to deal with them again. Nobody knowes whats going on and their customer service is really sucky. Not the same as 7 years ago. I am so disapointed. "

"Their customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE. If you can actually speak with a person, and if you can actually understand that person, you are guaranteed to be transfered to another person/depatment at least 3-4 times. It's an absolute, trust me. Then, my experience is that final person will not have an answer or be helpful in any way. I cannot understand how this company can stay in business."

The salespeople tell you what you want to hear and then what you receive is completely different. Then you have to pay more money to fix the problems as Dell customer services do not care about you or what the salesperson has initially promised.

"Save yourself the trouble please! I tried to place an order online but my shopping cart kept getting erased so I decided to call it in. After the order was placed via sale rep (over the phone) I checked the receipt in my email and realized that the idiot who took my order gave me a laptop with a 500 gb hard drive when I specifically wanted a 640 gb hard drive, and charged me the same price as the laptop with the higher gb hard drive! I was mad to say the least! I called customer support and kept getting the run around, spending hours of wasted time on the phone listening to that stupid elevator music! I will Never never never order from DellAgain! I'm just waiting for my order to come so that I can send it back. They don't deserve my business!"

"NEVER EVER order anything from Dell. I ordered a part from them 2 months ago, and still have not received it. The customer service is absolutely the worst. It would have been much better to be able to converse with them through email messages so they would not have screwed up the shipping address. Countless hours on the phone with them due to all of the delays proved to be a total waste of my time. They need to totally revamp their system, and employ people who can speak english clearly."

"Ordered a 27 inch monitor from Dell. Received an email stating the monitor would not arrive for several weeks and to call if I wish to cancel the order. Called and cancelled my order as soon as I received the email that A.M. Their sales representative assured me it was cancelled and that my funds would be be returned the next cycle at my bank. Then that evening they turned around and mysteriously found a monitor and shipped it to me. Funny how they went to we don't have it you'll have to wait a couple weeks to "Oh, we got yours right here if your going to cancel."

I had already purchased the same monitor for 30 dollars cheaper from a competitor called and told dell wtf. Had to tell the story to not one, not two, but three customer service representatives all from overseas. None could help me. Got the run around oh we can't stop the shipment you'll have to refuse the order when it's delivered nothing we can do. Oh btw we got your money suck it. Total lack of coherency between employee's or any desire to set things right. I've dealt with insurance companies that are more willing to work with you. I'm sure they try to stick me with some sort of fee for returning the monitor.
Moral of the story they are dishonest if you get an email saying oh it's gonna be awhile cancel it and boom they'll have it in stock mystically just pray you don't have to return it or ask for help from their customer service. Dell doesn't have any.

"You may not have too many hardware issues with Dell computers but God forbid you have to contact them for any time of other issues. Their customer service is absolutely horrible. If you can actually speak with a person, and if you can actually understand that person, you are guaranteed to be transfered to another person/depatment at least 3-4 times. "I've never had problems with purchasing items from Dell and usually got them very promptly and in good condition. But, when I bought a Dell Inspiron 14z recently and had problems with getting a wired connection, I had issues with their technical support. After an hour, they still couldn't solve my problem and I was laughing to myself because they were making me do all these things that I knew would not solve my problem, such as taking out the battery or turning my laptop on and off. Their technical support team didn't seem to be very knowledgeable at what they were supposed to be specialized for and the agent on the phone seemed super clueless as she kept telling me that she would ask her "very knowledgeable supervisor for help." Instead my friend came over and solved my problem in no time, so in conclusion, I would think twice before calling Dell to solve my technical issues."
