"STAY AWAY FROM DELL!
I spent $2500 (equivalent of 20wks rent) on a high spec gaming XPS 17" laptop, which took 5-6wks to be delivered. It lasted 3wks before the expensive laptop failed & the screen started to leak multiple lines across the screen making it in-operable and I look after my laptop, stored it on my desk. It took Dell nearly 6wks I think before they sent a tech out & he couldnt fix the fault as he couldnt get the screws off. Short story its been nearly 5months & they still havnt fixed my laptop, currently its lost in logistics of trying to be repaired! Ive sent numerous emails into Support & they havnt replied to most of them, they never call me back, they closed my job with them without informing me, never provided updates on the job status, put me thru to multiple support staff after spending 20mins talking to them on the phone or halfway thru a conversation. Very frustrating & to make things worse I still havnt got my laptop back I sent it in for repair 5-6wks ago and they cant find it! I originally sent it in & they sent it back unfixed. Dicks. Terrible company, poor customer service that doesnt care and ignores my multiple emails & phones calls. Ive spent around 10hrs trying to get my laptop back, taking 2days off work unpaid to try and get my faulty expensive laptop back. STAY AWAY FROM DELL"
"Dell's customer service is the worst. Every time you call is the same situation no body can help and so they transfer you to a thousand people, and you spend hours on the phone. DO NOT PURCHASE DELL they do not stand behind their product and you can't speak to anyone in the US to help you with your issues."
"Hello,
I purchased my m14x alienware from dell about a year ago, and i recently dropped it and broke a hinge... so i called up dell to send it in to them... and i was told id have it back in a week at the latest.. well after TWO weeks.. i called them up, they said id have it within a few days (as if id believe it) now that its been a month i called back they have finally told me they do not even have the part for it yet... HOW DOES A MAJOR COMPANY NOT HAVE THE PART? this is beyond disappointing and i will never buy or reccomend buying a dell again..."
"The worst ordering process ever. 2 Cancelled orders and a month later and still no monitor for the new computer I got a month ago. I have talked with 7 different foreign people and know one seems to know anything. Finally got a manager to call me up, I had to cancel and reorder it again. Never do business with Dell again!"
"My son purchased a Dell laptop and found out that another Dell was a better choice. I called returns who told me that the only way they would wave the $250 re-stocking fee was if I immedicately ordered another Dell and had an order number.
I tried to negotiate, not having the ability to put another $2500 on my charge card. They did not relent. When I asked to talk to the supervisor's supervisor, I was told that that person never deals with customers, too bad...so sad.
I will never buy another Dell simply based on their very poor customer service.

"Not so much a complaint on customer service as the computer itself is a piece of JUNK!!! A new top of the line desktop. The front acces to the USB plugs, Multi card reader and headphone jacks was all out of wack and I couldn't plug anything in. I had to open the box and reinstall the card properly so everything lined up. Windows 7 blows! Dell stage is a Joke a blatant ripoff of Apple Apps but doesn't really do anything excepte make your desktop look like an apple. My third Dell and my last. I have to agree with everyone here. Don't buy a Dell"
"The WORST customer servive I have ever received. Pass the buck seems to be their MO. No-one wants to help; 4 weeks in, 3 canceled orders and still no laptop. To say frustrating would be the understatement of the year. They ask if they can place you on hold for 2 min and it's more like 10 (2 one hour phone calls in the past week alone). They pass you from sales to customer service (and back) to credit card processing. And yet still no-one seems to have a clue as to what is going on there. If my niece's school did not mandate a Dell laptop I would have walked away weeks ago and got her a Mac. If I could rate no stars, I would, but unfortunately not an option. You are forewarned; do NOT deal with Dell unless you have an excess of time and patience and by excess I mean unlimited..."
"I just place order with Dell a week ago, for XPS 17 laptop. Everything went through until 2 days later, I got a call from 1-***-***-****. One man, he said he was Dell rep, requested me to give him my address to verify the order. I told him I have many experience for shopping online , sellers or retailers, they never call to me to verify anything, I told him he is a scammer who try to steal my personal info. I requested he had to send me a email to confirm he work for Dell before I verify my info to him. He felt angry and said " I will send email to you, your order will be cancel" He had a Indian accent and I tried to understand what he said.
I believed he was a scammer at this time, and I didn't care about it.
Thing seemed I was wrong. Two days later , my order was in cancellation status. I even didn't see any email to let me know anout it. They did refund in my account . They don't love my money.
For now , I think I am lucky, If I bought it I may be deep into
another trouble with their services. I buy it , not beg to take for free. . True story and you may check by your own:
Dell Purchase ID: 2002870942657
Customer Number: 120756756
Pls don't think about dell .My nightmare may be yours"
"Poor customer service. I used a gift card and Amex to purchase a laptop. It was on the expiration date (9/9/11) of the gift card. The order went through and got order confirmation. Then I got an email saying my order was on hold due to Amex not approving the transaction and ask me to call Amex which I did and then I called customer service to confirm but was told the gift card was expired. I explained the purchase was made on the gift card's expiration day and should be valid. The CSR transferred me to payment department which cleared the payment and told me the order should be in production soon. Five days later the order status did not change at all and I called again to inquire and was told the order was on hold due to again the expired gift card. I told them it was cleared last time and I used the card on the expiration date of the card. I was transferred at least eight times between CSR, payment, gift card department, and no one wanted to help."
"Absolute horrible support/customer service. Hours and hours on the phone. Like, try ENTIRE DAYS! I purchased software support (big mistake!) where they take control of your computer via remote. Erasing my programs without saying a word to me. Constantly trying to sell me something with each phone call. Do yourself and America a favor and use your local mechants. HORRIBLE!"
"DO NOT, I REPEAT-DO NOT BUY A DELL!!!!!!!! If anything goes wrong, their technical support is a living nightmare. My brand new Inspiron 580 was defective out of the box-screen freezing, pixilation and USB ports that were never connected. Multiple calls to support-speaking to people you cannot understand. Over a period of 2 months, the hard drive was replaced and a refurbished motherboard was installed (instead of a new one) and the problems are still not resolved. The refurbished motherboard has created more problems. It is a NIGHTMARE.
Read these reviews and think long and hard before you give your money to DELL. "
"1. Incompetent, lying s.o.b.s.
2. overpriced, outdated junk
I placed an order for a download product; I had to call literally 20 times to verify my account. I have at least 10 phone numbers from dell and chat transcripts are available.
Even with the Credit Card issuing bank on the phone in a conference call and confirming my card details, DELL CSR kept asking me and the Bank representative stupid questions (such as my bank password or secret word!) and would not release the order.
I called their supervisors, everybody at dell is a supervisor so as they say. Don't trust them as they told me on 2 occasions they released the order but both orders were cancelled unilaterally by dell with NO email confirmation. They lied to me they called the bank when I asked about the reason of order cancellation – deceptive and stalling tactics so that I would not use the expiring gift card. All supervisors have the attitude that any client calling the verification department is a criminal – they remind me of the Russian gulag and “1984”.
Dell is as American a company as my Made in China everything. CSRs at dell collect your personal data and then they send you unsolicited printed materials even though I requested specifically not to be included on their distribution lists.
The reason I wanted to complete this order with them was that I had a 75 USD gift card with an expiration date and I did not want DELL to have the funds, ie. I had to buy something, anything.
I reported them to BBB (bbb.org).
If you value your time, PRIVACY and dignity, stay away from dell!
These kind of companies should not be around.
I would not trust the 5 star reviews for dell, they are written probably by dell affiliated individuals."
"I bought an Inspiron 1720 laptop from Dell a few years ago. Since the first day I received it I've had problems with it. I consistently get the dreaded "blue screen" which shuts down the computer periodically without warning. I've spent countless hours and money trying to have this issue and various other issues resolved with no luck. I've had to buy expensive extended warranties, and one time solution support sessions that have been nothing but a waste of money. The last time I called for support I was so frustrated that I refused to give to pay for support again because I was so sure that it wouldn't help, but a supervisor got on the phone with me and assured me that if the issue was not resolved once and for all I would get a FULL refund. Well as I suspected the issue was not resolved and when I tried to get my money back they refused. Cheating and lying to their customers is not a good way to get return business. Avoid Dell at all cost. Horrible, horrible, horrible!!!!!"
"DELL Laptops suck!!!!!!! My dad got a laptop from Indiana and after 3 months the LCD display was lost, the webcam quality is bad, speaker quality also deteriorated after 2 months.
They did not transfer the warranty but actually charged him an extra 300$ to transfer it and cover accidental damage!
My advise to anyone who's looking for a new laptop, NEVER BUY DELL."
"No hassel purchase and delivery was when it was expected. "
