With the exception of shipping/tracking information updates, DMS gets high marks for price and shipping. I checked here first for their rating and called to ensure the Sharp AQUOS LC-37G4U 37'' LCD TV I wanted was in stock and it was. I received a call the same day for verification and a photocopy ID authorization form request (required for any purchases over $2000.00) and the CS agent very nicely asked if I wanted the special pricing on the Mack three year extended warranty. The price as over $100.00 off and for piece of mind on something this expensive was worth every penny. I accepted the Mack package and automatically got three-day FedEx air shipping free! The cost reflected was for FedEx ground ($175.00), not too shabby. I waited a day or two (being the weekend and all) and called for a tracking number. Well, I got the tracking number on Monday morning (11/8), received a call from home at 2:00 in the afternoon, and guess what? It just arrived! All I can say is, WOW.
Now today I will set everything up to make certain the Sharp is working. I think all will be well but will follow up on the results.
Great job DMS but, try to catch up with your shipping info, it's no big deal (especially for a GREAT deal), but it could get better ratings for tracking info.
11/19/04 Follow up:
It has been about a week and work has been insane so I have had little time to really "play" with the new Sharp. It arrived unscathed, all docs and accessories and went together without a hitch. Auto setup was flawless and the screen is incredibly bright. I will still have to tweak the settings this weekend but the quality is incredible. The first thing I did was connect it up to my HTPC via AIW ATI 9800 Pro DVI and booted to Windows XP Pro. Well, I had to run upstairs to change my shorts...Wow is all I can say. One thing to note, complaints from other users/reviewers about the LCD displaying lower channels (analog to digital) state that it does not look as good as tube. I tend to agree but have to point out that one needs to get re-acclimated to this new viewing experience. We have been growing up with tube TV's since the days of Captain Kangaroo, stop complaining and just get used to it. Watching HD stations and DVDs is incredible so the trade off is a no-brainer.
As far as DMS is concerned, they did a great job all around and the extended warranty is a major plus.

"I despise companies that don't communicate with their customers, especially when they state that they will email me as soon as the product is shipped. This company said not to contact them for at least 2 business days and that the shipping method I picked would take 7 to 10 business days. I waited 3 business days (spread out over a weekend, so it was 5 normal days) and contacted them on their web site by entering my email address. They emailed back and said to wait 3 business days from the date of purchase(and they gave me their toll free number and email address) so I was going to give them an extra day before contacting them. On the 4th business day at Noon the camera arrived. I never did get an email from them, and many others have commented on this also.
Needless to say I was thrilled that it arrived so quickly. Everything that was supposed to be included was there. It was a brand new, factory sealed package, with a full manufacturers USA warranty; just like they state on their site.
It would certainly be to their advantage to communicate with their customers. There are too many scams out there, and when people order something and don't get any communication, it makes them very unsettled.
I used to work for the Consumer Services Dept. of the Government, so I was ready to hit them hard if anything went wrong. Nothing went wrong.
BTW, the camera I bought was a brand new digital that had just been released. Only one store where I live in a city of 450,000 people had this camera and they only had one, so I was surprised that this all worked out. "
"I ordered my sony camcorder with the Digital megastore. My experience was positive except for one small issue.
Postives:The price was low ... I mean very low compared to other offers(around 300$less than circuit city and best buy). The customer service over the phone was pretty good. The product came in 3 business days from the day of the order.
Negatives: No email was sent confirming my order and shipment. I had to call to find out my tracking number.
I hope the digital megastore guys rectify this one small issue. I would definetly shop with them again. "

"The Pioneer Receiver I purchased was defective so called Digital Meaga Store and told them about the problem. I was told to send the unit back to them (Was given a RMA#)and it would be replaced. I sent the unit back to them at my expense and then waited for the replacement unit,1 week went by and I did not hear anything from them. I called Digital MegaStore and was told that I never talked to anyone there and that they had know idea what I was talking about. I told them that I had sent them the Pioneer Receiver as they requested and per my tracking number they had receiver it. I was then told that they do not do exchanges or repairs on receivers and that I had to contact the manufacturer. I stated that they had my defective receiver that I was told to send them, and I had the name of the person who had signed for it. Then out of the blue they found it and was told they had sent me a new unit out through Fedex and was given a tracking number. At this point I was very upset because I kept getting different stories, but I was releived because I was told that a new receiver had been sent out. When the receiver arrived I noticed that it was the same one that I had just sent to them and now it was even damaged more than it was before!!!! The shipper (Fedex) must have dropped it. I called Digital Megastore and told them about the damage. I was told to get a damage estimate and they would file a claim for me and that it would be a couple weeks, that was in January its August and still nothing. There is $763.72 in damages to the receiver and here I sit. Digital MegaStore has ripped me off and Im not happy here. Its just not right.
UPDATE: 8/16/04 Still nothing from Digital MegaStore, Ive contacted the Better Business Breau in New York,I dont know what else to do here.What a sick feeling knowing you have been scamed!! Buyer Beware!!

"I've downgraded my rating from high to low. Great price on my camcorder. They called to confirm and offered an accessory package but happily took no for an answer. Item arrived in 5 days (3 business days).
I have had 2 problems after the sale. During the 3 days between ordering and shipping, the price dropped by $12, so I called and they agreed to credit the $12. Also, the bar code sticker (required to get a $100 Marriott hotel bonus) was missing from my box; when I called, they said that's because they're not an authorized Sony dealer, but they would try to get a sticker from their distributor.
A month later, I'd heard nothing and received no refund. I was unable to reach them by phone (got put on hold and disconnected); in response to 4 faxes, they faxed back a copy of their policy that rebates are the responsibility of the manufacturer. That's fine, but the manufacturer can't be expected to give a rebate if the retailer rips off part of the packaging as this outfit did.
Finally I disputed the transaction on my credit card, so they gave me the $12 but ignored my request for the $100.
I would avoid this store."
