"All of the bad reviews are not wrong!
I purchased an out of print book. Three days later I was refunded for it with no email explaining why. I figured it was just out of stock, but they re-listed two of the same book the same day both for twice as much money. ($27 to $57!)
I called to try to figure this out and the man said "It is a technical issue. You may place the order again." I told him I wanted it for the price I had originally purchased it for. He said, "Oh wait, it is a problem. We are out of stock." But the books remained on the site for sale.
They are a very, very dishonest company. It's too bad. The author was my grandfather and I was attempting to purchase his book for my child to have. So unfortunate! "
"Scam company -- avoid at all costs. Ordered a book from them which never arrived; they wouldn't provide tracking info or any proof they even sent it, and refused a refund. Wish I'd seen all the other warnings about them before I'd ordered. Don't get ripped off too -- avoid them at all costs!"
"Would give a 0 stars if available.Ordered a college text book for my son. Weeks went by-never received it. Charge went through. Called multiple times was told "lost in transit" although didn't have my item number yet??. Asked for refund -they said I would receive a notice email in 24 hours then changed to 2-3 business days. Called again after no email received. Very rude and difficult to understand customer service rep. I asked for the mailing address of the seller company and he told me "TEXAS". I said that is a very big place and asked for further info and stated he "we don't have that info". "I told you you will get a refund and email confirmation." Never did and no book so my son really was out of luck. This business should be closed down."
"If I could give 0 stars I would. This company is the absolute worse. They gave me nothing but pure hell during my ordering process. I ordered through Biblio.com after reading good reviews and the decent pricing on their books. I ordered a book that I needed for class. After ordering, I received an email the very next day stating that my book had been shipped. This email did not contain a tracking number or the company that the book was shipped through. I reached out to this company to obtain this information and was hung up on twice. I was asked multiple times by the representative if I wanted to cancel my order because he didn’t have a tracking number for me. I demanded to speak with a supervisor in which I was informed that the book had been shipped, but he didn’t have a tracking number and wasn’t sure who it was sent through. He then promised that he’d locate the information and email it to me within 24 hours. I never received this email so I called the company again. The SAME representative was beyond rude and refused to let me speak to the superior or another representative to help with my concerns. After going back and forth he refused to help me at all. I then contacted Biblio.com in which sent a message over to the company asking for the information. Today I get an email saying my order has been cancelled and my obey has been refunded due to a lost or damaged package. So now I won’t have my book in time to start my LAST semester of graduate school. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are very rude and sketchy. They don’t have any customer service skills whatsoever! They shouldn't be allowed to operate with such poor people skills and ripping off college students. It’s sad and ridiculous."
"This company is a fraud. They lie, cheat and have now stolen from me.
I purchased two books for a total of $220.00 on Biblio.com through the seller ergode books in two separate orders. the books I received were not what I ordered based on title and ISBN. when i called i was rudely told to email them pictures as proof, which I did. days later I received a response asking for me to provide proof which i did again and then they asked a third time. now i was suspicious this was a scam so i called the number attached to the email as it said to "call if I needed any further assistance" when i called again a rude person with a very thick accent told me i can only email them. I asked to speak with a manager and was told "No They not in" i then asked when they would be in and the reply I was given was "No" then "maybe tomorrow" so i called back the next day and surprise! no manager in. Finally after numerous emails and providing picture proof again I was emailed a return shipping label for wait for it.......... Amazon. i called and attempted to explain this was not an amazon purchase but was ridiculed and told to send it anyway. so i mailed the first book and it promptly was lost in transit according to ups. furthermore I was not allowed to open an investigation with ups as only amazon could and i should call amazon!!!! when I emailed this development to ergode i was told to open a claim with ups and send them claim number which i had already told them i cannot do. so i emailed them two more times and the last i heard was they are waiting for the package and will not refund my purchase until they receive it. Ups was kind enough to inform me losing these amazon return packages is "very common". this was a scam by ergode books to prevent ever having to refund my money for shipping a different item than what I purchased."
"I ordered two books as Christmas gifts in early December. I received my payment confirmation and after about a week, I called the company, as I never received a shipping confirmation (both books were in stock when I ordered). The first rep I spoke with told me that my package had been lost in the mail and they would be issuing me a refund. I asked the rep when they were planning on notifying me about that (if I hadn’t already called in) and they provided a vague answer. It was also suspect how the company knew they had already been “lost in the mail”. I asked if they could send me replacement books and they told me no, they weren’t in stock. After I hung up, I checked online and their website showed they had the books in stock. I immediately called back and got a different rep. This rep told me the books were actually not lost in the mail and had been sent almost a week before. I confirmed this multiple times and he said the other rep must have been mistaken. I asked this second rep for a mailing tracking number and he said they didn’t have it yet (even though the package had shipped a week before).
I kept following up via email for a tracking number and they kept telling me the package shipped the day after I ordered it but they hadn’t yet generated a tracking number yet (it had been almost two weeks now). I held out hope that the books (which were children’s Christmas gifts) would somehow arrive on time. They never arrived and on Christmas morning I received an email from the Company saying the books had in fact been “lost in postal transit”.
I would normally chalk this up to a one-off postal mix up if it wasn’t for so many other 1-star reviews from other customers who had the exact same fact pattern (refusal to provide a tracking number and then the package getting “lost”). This was compounded by terrible customer service every time I tried to follow-up.

"This seller said that they sent my book and that "it got lost in the mail." I needed this book for class so I ordered it a month before classes started. I get an email two days AFTER classes began that my book was not coming and I could either get a refund or wait it out. I had other friends who ordered from here and never got their books. I. Am. Upset. "
"Ordered on Amazon. Said it shipped. 7 weeks later, nothing, no tracking."
"This company is a joke. Three months to ship a book that never arrived. When contacted the company has beaten around the bush, delayed refunding my money, and resorted to guilt tripping me about how they are a 'small business that can't take a financial hit like this'. Completely unprofessional and disgusting business practice. Clearly only exists to scam people out of their money when all they want is to buy a decent book. Don't ever buy anything from this company."
"My expirience is horrible I buyed spanish book and they send English book, when I tried to talk with customer service they speak mix language English and Indian imposiblle to understand what they talk about. never never again I will buy from them."
"Beware - if you purchase something from them you will likely not get it at all. But, they will make efforts to take your credit card information. You can expect to waste a lot of time trying to get a refund, and a lot of openly dishonest information. Once you get a refund, they will just relist the same book at a much higher price. See all of the other reviews of these scammers. Totally dishonest. This is why you should no longer use AbeBooks.com - this sort of scam used to not be tolerated on Abebooks.com now is totally supported and allowed to continue in bad faith. "
"They canceled my paid order of one of their books only to re-list it at a higher price days after author was announced as having passed away. When following up after 3weeks with no communication they claimed it “got lost in shipping” but refused to provide tracking number because “they never got one” and said they already checked with postal service (which you cant do without a tracking number) communicate about the order prior to being.
When i tried to press them for any means to follow up with the alleged lost package and pointing out their unprofessional handling of sale they called me names and wished me luck.
Terrible experience "
"The seller, Ergodebooks, has been contacted previously and continues to provide the tracking number assigned to the order. However, there were two items in the order:
Textbook, used: Panorama de la Langue Francaise: Méthode de Francais (French Edition) Estimated Delivery Date: Sep 2, 2019
Workbook, new: Cahier d'exercices (Panorama de la Langue Francaise: Méthode de Francais) (French Edition) Estimated Delivery Date: Sep 2, 2019
The bookseller only sent the used textbook, which arrived on 8/31/2019. The new workbook was not in the bag. I had to purchase the workbook from Amazon, which I did on 9/5/2019. And, Amazon sent the new workbook on 9/9/2019. Please see screenshot of Amazon purchase. Unfortunately, I did not review this bookseller prior to my purchase, but now I have discovered that this is a common occurrence with them, and leads to a rating of 1-2/5 stars. Afterwards, I immediately contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute for $47.03, the cost of the new workbook and delivery fees. I have submitted a negative review for this seller, in order to warn other consumers, but I realize that based on the previous reviews, and the way this situation has been handled since I notified AbeBooks, my only method for redress will be via my credit card company.
Eventually, someone will take the time to report Ergodebooks to the State of Texas Attorney General, who is tasked with investigating companies who use fraudulent tactics in dealing with consumers. Currently, I am a bit too busy, but I have discussed them with a friend who is a corporate attorney, and he seems interested. However, he stated that companies like this, even if gutted by the state, will change their name, and continue with the same tactics. I was a moron for not initially using Amazon for this purchase, but they did not have the most recent copy of the used textbook (2004) available. Lesson learned, as my instructor stated that the older version (2000) would have been okay. As an Amazon Prime member, I realize why Bezos is a billionaire. No company can prosper when they treat consumers like Ergodebooks does.

"Do not give these people your money. Instead of what you paid for, you get lies and excuses. Don't be another victim of these scam artists"
"I wish I read the reviews here before I ordered from them. I paid for two very expensive books and only received one with the wrong ISBN. After 50 hours of dealing with them, I'm no closer to a resolution. They simply do not care and have horrible English skills. Avoid at all cost. Even if you think they have a copy of that rare book you are looking for, trust they do not. "
