"Hi, I was looking for Tales of a 6th Grade Muppet series books for my little sister. They are out of print and hard to find. I found them on ErgodeBooks website and they had the best prices for these books of anyone. The books stated they were used and in good shape. We ordered the books and got them super fast! All 3 books looked brand new and like they had never been used! I was very happy with my purchase and I will be ordering from this site again. Thanks, Katie"
"I had the same problem as many other people in here. I've been searching for a book I needed for a project for a long time. I saw they were selling it through Amazon, and I bought it (I now can't believe how it's possible for them to have so many good reviews there, I guess they pressure people to erase the bad ones). Book bought, tracking information never arrived. I've waited for more than a month and nothing arrived. Where I live I always get packages, it's very rare to have one lost. I decided to contact them to see what was going on and they fastly assumed that the book was lost, and, I must say, they refunded me fast. Eventhough after some days I was thinking about the whole story and I found it a bit rare, so I've checked again for the book, and surprise, they were selling the book at 3 times the price I've paid. They never sent the book to me. I've contacted them, and like many other people here I've just got lies and automatic replies. Now they say that they don't have the book, that's a listing error, come on, who believes that? and easily I can see they are selling it in other platforms. I left a bad review on Amazon and they have been asking me to remove it, what I don't plan to do. What annoys me most of this whole process is that they treat you as an idiot and they don't stop lying. I'm sad I didn't decide to check for more reviews online before buying, because it's clear that they have been doing this for a long time now. I already opened an incidence through Amazon but I don't know if this would have any effect. I really hope all these cases and bad reviews help someone to avoid having to deal with them. "
"This store is finding books for sale on websites that have poor Google presence and reselling them at a high markup. Unlike many of the reviewers here I did receive the rare book I ordered with an invoice from the actual bookstore (which looks nice and may get my genuine business in the future). It appears that Ergode Books didn't get around to placing my order with the legitimate store until the following day, which might explain why so many orders go unfulfilled. Nevertheless, when you actually do get what you paid for at Ergode Books, the original invoice gives up the game. This company made $25 off this middle-man scheme from me."
"I had a similar experience to other people who posted reviews here. Ergodebooks said they shipped my book the day after I ordered it, but then it never arrived. I asked them repeatedly for a tracking number and not only did they never give me one, they wouldn’t even reply to my asking for one. They never once even said the words ‘tracking number’ in any of our emails, and even after I told them that I thought it was suspicious that they seemed not to want to give me a tracking number, they still wouldn’t refer to one. Clearly, they never had a tracking number, and although they did wind up refunding my money, I feel really uncomfortable about the whole transaction. Who knows what they’re actually doing with my personal/ financial information. I mean, why else would they refuse to give me a damn tracking number?!"
"I bought a book from them on May 31st 2019, quite expensive books, when I bough it showed in stock and with delivery in 5 days, never got it, called twice and they had no information, they said they had 14 days to ship. Their delivery terms on their website do not state any of this. I asked to cancel the order and they refused it. Had to go through Paypal and open a case. This is the worst experience I ever had buying a book. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I hope Paypal will take them off their business."
"I told them I was going to return the book and they said it would be subject to a 15% restocking fee. Their return policy states 'I will do my best to address your concerns including 100% refund of your money.' They do not even abide by their own policies. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SELLER. "
"Ordered a book did not receive it, their customer service is the same guy keeps asking for: invoice #, purchase #, so on until you don't have a number to provide and says please email we can't help without this number. I will be contacting every agency i can about this so called co. and i will not stop! it's the principle of it!!!! "
"This is astonishing. Has anyone pursued this merchant? The sheer number of complaints and the similarity of each situation (money sent, goods not delivered) suggests systematic fraud. I urge everyone to contact the Office of the Attorney General of Texas.

"Do not order from this so called "Business". I ordered a set of dungeons and dragons rule books from their website and never received a confirmation number or tracking number. I called customer service on four different occasions and they told me they would e-mail me the confirmation number. That never happened! After that they had me go to their website to give them my e-mail address which I know they already had because they read it back to me on the phone. Needless to say, I never received any info. After that they started lying to me and saying there computers were all updating. Anyway, If you feel like cancelling a debit card and arguing with some strangers then buy books from here! I'm considering turning these guys into the better business bureau so no one else needs to be ripped off by these sociopaths. Don't make the same mistake I did!"
"30/03/19: I found a book I was desperately looking for on the 4th March, and paid the inflated cost approx €65. This was a gift for someone. The book (out of stock the world over) was advertised as NEW never existed - it was just a photograph uplifted from another site, and their response was they posted it the very next day. The have said they will make a refund - yet that has NOT happened either so far.
I have never had anything go missing in 30 years of this nature! Incredible this company claim so many of their books are missing in transit!!
AVOID at all costs.
1/4/19: Story continues, NO refund received and more stupid messages from 'the manager' of Ergode Books, offering this 'mythical refund' and also compensation of Amazon voucher (amount not mentioned) - trying to buy me off. Then if I would consider removing my NEGATIVE feedback from the Amazon.FR site. Well I wont, and they are going to find themselves in massive trouble by the week's end if the refund is not forthcoming.
Here is their latest presumably standard message:
Dear ** *******,
Greetings of the day!!!
I’m the manager of this small company and would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused to you for this order. I'm very sorry that the book was not delivered at your end. We had immediately issued refund since we did not have a replacement copy in stock. Acquiring this copy would have taken sometime and as a responsible seller, we didn't want you to give any false hope and hold on your money. It would be against our ethics. We lost the book in this transaction and had to issue full refund which is acceptable, but we never want our customer to be unhappy with our service.
We had even checked with our suppliers before issuing refund to you. We will still update you if we acquire this book in future. I hope you will understand our situation and reason behind issuing your refund immediately. Compensation mentioned below is in addition to full refund we have already processed.
1. If you prefer, we can send you Amazon gift card that you can use to purchase any item from any vendor from entire Amazon. It would never expire and would just work like cash.
2. Any other resolution that might work better for you.
We will do our best to solve the issue regardless of your feedback decision. Meantime, your public negative feedback would affect our business in these tough economic times. Would you please consider removing feedback and give us a chance to resolve the issue.
For feedback removal,
1. Do one of the following:
Go to Your Submitted Feedback.
Go to Your Account and click Seller Feedback Submitted by You under Personalization.
2. Click Remove link next to the feedback for Order # 403-*******-******* . If there is no Remove option next to a comment, please email us back.
We provide 24 * 7 call back service to serve and support our customers. You may always call us at ***-***-**** if you need help with this.
Thanks a lot,

Further Update 2nd April 2019,
Yes, the refund has finally been made.
I will now refrain from taking the actions I had planned against Ergode Books as a result, they are very fortunate.
I am leaving the negative feedback though, as they have wasted 4 weeks of my time - the book I 'bought' from them was clearly NEVER available, as it is sold out and out of print the world over, and they had the audacity to advertise the availability of a NEW copy?
My advice is definitely go elsewhere, this has been a truly rotten experience."
"I purchased a book of piano sheet music advertised on ABE for 38.80 plus 3.99 S/H. Never arrived. Ergodebooks did refund my money after stating that the book was "lost in transit" and that another copy wasn't available. Four days later it's again listed on ABE, same book, same seller for $484.14. I complained to ABE (their apparent partner in crime) and they couldn't have cared less, basically saying "naughty seller, we'll make sure they do better in the future". There are honest, trustworthy sellers on ABE but there are crooks too and ABE is only too happy to take their listing fees and give them a platform. They do not enforce their "terms and conditions" they just deposit the cash from crooks into their bank accounts. Avoid Ergodebooks at all costs! By all means trust ABE marketplace when it's a listing from a book seller you know to be honest, otherwise protect yourself, look elsewhere, ABE will not protect you.
One quick update, the price of this "lost" book being listed on ABE by this crook is now up to more than $1800. Avoid Ergodebooks, check out other consumer feedback sites, you'll see it's not just me griping."
"Worst type of scalping ebay there is. Sells you a book, takes your cash, doesnt send it, then you see them advertising the same book, but for more money. Exploiting warhammer fans by price gouging items that have gone out of production. I suggest to avoid. Mine was ebay item 302997599132. They have relisted this item I bought and did not send it to me."
"Ordered a textbook for school before classes started and 7 weeks in I began to e-mail them and tried calling as well. After unsuccessfully getting in contact I spoke with Mastercard to get my money back through them. A day and a half later suddenly I'm getting e-mails from ergodebooks saying they lost the book in transit and that the chargeback was hurting their business. They asked for me to drop my case with mastercard and they would refund me. I asked for a discount on a resend as I'm studying for a midterm test tomorrow without the textbook and my grades are my source of income (scholarships and bursaries). They said they couldn't do any kind of discount on my order. Well guess I'll just get all my money back through mastercard and buy the textbook elsewhere then. What do I gain from waiting till the semester is over to get a full priced textbook?"
"I ordered a NEW copy of the "Vegan Fire & Spice: 200 Sultry and Savory Global Recipes" cookbook for a gift and they sent me a used, dog-eared copy and it took 3 weeks to get here. After reading other user reviews I have little hope of ever actually seeing a new copy if I try to send it back. A huge waste of time and money."
"No way on this company’s website indicating this company works with other vendors to sell USED books for HIGH prices!!! Bought this book at $23.95+$3.99 shipping and got a well used book with a garage sell price tag of $7.99 on the book cover!!! After contacting Ergodebooks, Neil replied by giving me excuses on how they are trying to survive in our tough economic time.... So is he saying that it is ok for this company to survive by cheating off their customers? Shouldn’t the information be upfront and the choice be up to the customers?!!! I will never be buying from Ergodebooks again. I will take this price tag as my tuition of learning how bad and unethical this company is!!!! "
