"So here's my experience with fotoconnection: I ordered the Sony 40xbr3 from SonyStyle.com, for 3 grand, expecting to pay for better service. After a week of not shipping and their customer service being unable to get a status, I got fed up and cancelled the order. I wanted the TV yesterday, so took a lead on fotoconnection.com, relying on mixed reviews, but more positive ones for big ticket items (bigger profit, better service?). I called them directly rather than ordering online (per a good review using the same means). Ordering was easy (except the hassling about the service warranty), but in total I would pay a full GRAND less! Too good to be true? It was even better. I ordered on a Thursday, at 5:40pm. The TV was delivered (from NY to VA) on SATURDAY, less than 72 hours later! Unbelievable! Oh, I got the free upgraded shipping after haggling about the extended warranty. Moral of the story? Pay attention to what people buy when considering fotoconnection. It's slightly counter-intuitive, but this company is the way to go for big ticket items."

"I have not even look at the order, my wife check two or three items was missing. My concern and disappointment was the fact Fotoconnection customer services person(Becky) and salesperson(Victor)are both scammers. Victor answer all my question with a yes, but one think he didn't do was ask for a good sale rating, plus as so many I read so far con me into purchasing warrenty for the camcorder I purchase, my total came to $2078.99 and I was ok with that because it was what I wanted. My problem was with Becky, she charge my bank card twice, so it wipe me out plus it's payday, so it took my check and my wife check. My bank talk to Becky and she denied Fotoconnection bill twice, the person from my bank said to her it right her in the statement, she was very rude toward him and myself and hung up on both of us. I've shop so many time on the net, but never been treated like a SUCKER. BUYERS BEWARE OF FOTOCONNECTION, PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE let any and everyone know the truth about fotoconnection, they will rob you.

"On 1/7/07, I purchased a digital camera from fotoconnection.com. I was contacted to "upgrade" my order which I discovered later meant I was paying another $60 to get what normally comes with the camera in a reputable store. They also told me I would receive a leather camera case. My credit card was charged not the additional $60, but $70. The camera I received did not work, nor was the camera case included. I contacted the company to return the camera and cancel the order. I was not allowed to cancel, but could exchange the camera. I sent it back, at my cost, for an exchange. I had to contact the company twice to find out when to expect my replacement. The first time I was told 2-3 days; the second time I was told right away. Over three weeks later, the replacement was shipped. I tried to cancel my order before it was shipped but was told they would not cancel it. When I received the replacement, it was also defective. "On a scale of 1 through 10 I give these people a "0" a big ZERO. I ordered a camcorder on 1/19/07 and the salesman Sam called me 11 days later to tell me it was no longer available. (I found out later that it is) He then proceeded to up sell me on the "New Improved" model for about $100 more. I agreed to the newer model on January 30, it was supposed to be sent 2-3 day rush. On February 8, 9 days later I called to inquire why I still hadn’t received the camcorder and was told that it was being shipped that day. I told them to cancel my order and contacted my credit card company (which had already been charged) to dispute the charges. Telling them the order was cancelled and that I was not going to pay the charge.
On February 13 5ive days after I cancelled I received an e-mail telling me that my order had been shipped. I called again and was told to that the order was shipped and I would have to refuse delivery. By the way on February 8 I ordered from a different merchant and had the camcorder in 2 business days.

"FotoConnection.com is a scam. I ordered my camera from them and the next day got a call from them. The service rep tried to sell me everything that I didn't need. Got upset when I said no. I should have cancelled my order right then. Got the camera and it looked to be used and wasn't in the same box that my other camera that I was replacing because I broke it. I started taking pictures with it that were fuzzy. I bought a 7.1 megapixel camera and it should be crystal clear. Called customer service. No one wanted to help me and I got bumped all over the company. Their answer was deal with Canon we can't help you. I had the camera in my possession for 18 days. I will never use this company again and you should not either. Unfortunately, I didn't read these complaints before I made my purchase. I hope this will save other people the save frustration and lost money on a broken item. If you don’t want a refurbished item that may not work don’t order from them paying full price. "

"I do a lot of buying online. I can say without qualification that my experience with FotoConnection is the worst ever. I bought a Canon A410 camera from them. It was advertised at $109, with $14 in shipping costs. First thing that went wrong is that I
was unable to print a record of the sales receipt online. And the e-mail receipt I received was no better -- it gave a transaction number, but no information on what was purchased or what was paid. Then, I got a telephone call -- yes a telephone call from Fotoconnection -- asking me to call them to complete the order. I did, and a man attempted to sell me on additional accessories (memory card, case, etc.). I refused, as I needed none of those. Then, the wait began. In about 3 weeks, I received a package by UPS. Inside was not a Canon A410 but a Canon A420, which is a slightly more expensive (larger pixel count) camera, which I hope is as good as the A410 in other respects, and a worthless, crummy lens-cleaning kit. Also inside was an invoice for $138, not the $123 that I had originally authorized with my credit card. I checked with my credit card company, and incredibly FotoConnection had, indeed, charged my credit card for $138, instead of the $123 that I had originally authorized. Very strange invoice, too. It does not indicate what was purchased, or how much of the $138 was for the camera, the worthless lens cleaning kit, or shipping. And, remember what I said about not being able to get a printout confirming the transaction. I have no proof that I originally authorized only $123. These people are dishonest. No one should ever buy anything from them.

"This company is a sham. I didn't realize 1stop, newConnection, and photoConnection are all the same, but they all seam shifty. I ordered from NewConnection and got a call trying to up-sale me. That's fine but the guy ignored to tell me that the camera was back ordered for 3 weeks. I cancelled my order there and tried PhotoConnection. When the guy (possibly the same guy) try to up-sale me, he said the camera didn't include a battery and charger. Both the PhotoConnection site and manufacture site contradicted him, the guy decided to cancel my order because I was asking him about it! This company should be removed from Froogle. "

"Did not receive SD card as advertised. Price was not as advertised it cost more. Told if I wanted American market model would cost me 50.00 dollars more. Settled for 20 dollars more and still did not get american market model.Contacted customer svc twice with no reply. BEWARE of this seller, High pressure sales tactics. WOULD NO BUY FROM THIS SELLER AGAIN. Once they have your money thats it they do not care about cuetomer relations."

"I placed an online order Thursday 11/2 at 7 am for a digital camera. My assigned C/S Rep "Tom" called me that afternoon to "verify" my order & shipping address & also to sell me the extras. He asked about the shipping-and the web site clearly stated free shipping on this order. I live on Long Island NY & the shipping time was supposed to be 3 days.Of course to sell me extras they call me at work. Friday afternoon they call me at home-I am at work of course-because of a credit card error. Seems I made a mistake on the number. I work with numbers all day- I doubt I made the mistake. Howebver I am human.They are conveniently closed on Saturday. Sundaya rep calls to verify the number. My account is charged Monday. The order is supposed to ship Monday according to the billing rep I spoke with Sunday. By Thursday still no delivery. I send an email & they reply a tracking number will be assigned in 24-48 hours. Well no tracking number yet. I am starting to wonder if this company is a fraud. Any help you savvy readers can supply will be greatly appreciated."

"This is a terrible company that cheats its clients! Their prices are good, but what they don't mention is that a lot of the equipment isn't NTSC! I bought a camera from them; a few days later I get a call saying that if I want an NTSC model I'll have to get all sorts of adapters, or they can just send me an NTSC camera for more money (none of this is mentioned on the website). The "extra value package" accessories don't even work with the camera! I bought a DVX100B unit that came with an additional wide-angle lens adapter. It's horrible! There's so much vignetting in the image that it's completely useless and not right for the camera even though the mm threading matches. The other items sold by them are completely useless and blown so out of proportion by them--lens cleaner, a tripod that can barely hold itself together, a cheap on-camera light that has never worked properly, and the camera itself had a loading mechanism malfunction within the first 90 days of use; fortunately it's still under the Panasonic warranty. I work as a professional videographer/cinematographer shooting High-Def commercials, feature films, and documentaries. I was extremely disappointed with this company's customer service and condition of the products."

"DO NOT TRUST FotoConnection.
This is the second order that I placed because they screwed up my first order and shipped the wrong lens. They said that I would have to return it at my expense for their mistake, and I'm sure that they will be kind enough to even charge me a restocking fee FOR THEIR MISTAKE. I had to buy another lens before they would ship it to me, and they charged me $30.00 more than they quoted for the lens. Finally, I receive the second lens and guess what. IT’S THE WRONG LENS AGAIN. Now, I'm here to tell ya, these people are real brainiacs. I have never before had to deal with such stupid people. They even had the nerve to ask me not to leave them bad feedback. As Carlos Mencia would say DE,DE,DE. Ok, back to the camera lens. After I got the wrong lens for a second time, they did apologize and told me that they would next day air the lens again, this was on Friday. Tuesday, the correct lens did show up at my door.

"I have never been treated so badly by a customer service rep in my life. After waiting on hold for quite a while and being transferred to 5 different people without explanation, I was connected to customer service. He said his name was George. I have no idea if that is his name or not. When he picked up the phone he didn't say his name. And when I asked him his name, he had to think about it for a while. I called to inquire about a camera I ordered and that UPS lost. I asked if they could ship me a replacement. He asked why. I said because I never received it. His response was "AND WHO'S FAULT IS THAT!" I said I'm not blaming anyone, and it's obvious whose fault it is. From then on every time I tried to talk he would talk over me. He said "I'm sorry if the truth hurts you" and a lot of other things that didn't really make any sense. He said "next time I will lie to you if you can't handle the truth". I told him I don't know how he ever got into customer service with that kind of attitude. And he said "I got in because of people like you!" That didn't really make any sense either. I told him there was no reason for him to attack me like this. I said "Other companies would not treat me like this". His response was "You're not talking to other companies, You're talking to this one" In light of this conversation I told him to just cancel my order. He said "We get to charge you a restocking fee if you cancel" I said "Even if I never received anything from you?" His response was "AND WHOSE FAULT IS THAT?" And then he said something else inaudible to me and hung up on me. I called back because I wanted to talk to his supervisor, but after being on hold for a while just I gave up."
